A short kiss

Valerie’s POV

The elevator opened and I stepped out, walking past the receptionist who had a complicated facial expression on her pale face. I didn't care about what was going on in her mind. She could go to hell for all I cared.

I stepped out of the building and stood by the sideway curb. A taxi approached me,I flagged it down and entered. It took about ten minutes before it pulled up in front of our Villa. My heart ached as I thought about Drake. This was the time he needed the comfort of a woman who loved him. A woman with true love and intentions towards him.

As I pushed the front door open, I could hear muffled conversation coming from the direction of Drake's room. He was in a conversation with someone over the phone.

Who could it be? What was the conversation about?

My curiosity heightened and I had to see and hear for myself. I took my first steps up the stairs my mind made up. Truthfully, I was feeling nervous.
