Chapter 5 : Running away from the altar

Mateo was shocked when he saw the face of the woman he had search for years  the stunningly beautiful face although gone are the baby fats  in place was an even more beautiful features that accentuated her attractiveness, with the same flaming hair and an even more impressive  green eyes.

 But nothing made him more shocked than the  brain shatterring slapped  she gave him and the documents  she retrieve under from her bouquet as she one by one drop it infront of him, before she seized the microphone from it's stand as if on cue the LCD screen flash the images of the signed documents he send to her.

"There is your documents that you thought  would  reduced me to being a pathetically useless human being. You thought that  I am a gold digger? Then let me tell you that I don't have designs in what you own. I have hands and legs to get me where I wanted to be and where I wanted  to go  without your help. You can  keep your wealth to yourself."  She remove her veil that obstruct her vision and walk out from the altar. Hurriedly walk to the petal scattered aisles.

"What?" Mateo stand dumbfounded.the girl, no the woman who he had spent his life searching for is walking out of his life, and she doesn't know how to stop her. When someone tried to stop Lorraine from walking away. She just turn and look at the man with piercing green orbs.  As if hypnotized released her then she walks towards a waiting cars. That took her to who knows where.

"Hi, my name is Giah, your aunt send me." The woman on the wheel told her as she manuever the car out of the compound. While she at backseat get out of her wedding gown.  She plan to ripped it open after the ceremony but she change her mind after seeing the expression on Mateo's face , something she cannot fathom.

 It seems that what she had done was too much for him to bear. "It looks like I am the one who's bullying him. Hmm... anyway what do you expect Lorraine. You are the one oppressing the  Collins. This is not the time to regret what you have done Lorainne." She told herself.

'How's Aunt Barbra?" She asked the other woman.

"She is fine, she cannot come herself so she send me."

"Are you responsible for the video of the documents?"

"Yeah that's mine. Your aunt said I must give you all the support you need. I thought that showing those images on screen will make you look less like a villain. Who knows some of the audience may sympathize with you." She said smiling.

"Good job, where did you get the signature?" 

"Piece of cake, my lady." Giah replied giggling.

"I think I'm going to like you Giah." 

" I guess the feeling is mutual my lady." 

"Don't call me my lady, from now on call me Raine, Raine Stevens." 

"No problem Raine, Raine Stevens." They both chuckled with their silly conversation.

Giah drive them to the airport, and Raine was surprised at how efficient and smooth they check in for their flight out of the country. As they waited for the call to board their plane, back to the place where Lorraine left dramatically.

"What happened Theo? How could you treat  the woman you marry like that. Acussing her of being a gold digger and to think that you presented her a divorce papers even before you get married."  His mother told him.

"I don't know Mom.  I made a mistake!  How is grandpa?"

"It was a good thing that your grand pa got hold of the original documents that it is unsigned. Meaning you are still married  to each other unless one of you make the move to dissolve it." Just as he is about to make a call his grandfather Peter Collins walked in.

"Look what a mess you have done  Theo. You humiliated a good woman just because you thought she is after you money." 

"I'm sorry grandpa." He is not only sorry to his grandfather. But also sorry for himself.eventhough it was his private eye who made a mistake of his facts,  he had also believe of what it was presented to him without checking the information himself. The mistakenly submitted  information is of the younger daughter of the Adams instead of the older sister Lorraine Adams who is an accomplished athlete and successful engineer, made him regret his impulsive move.

"So what are  you planning to do my boy?" His grandfather challenged.

In the Adams mansion the mother and daughter tandem of Amira and Zeinah took advantage of the scandal of Lorainne is fleeing after  her wedding, to their advantage.

"Look what your daughter had done? She waited to be  married just to  humiliate  her husband and you. What  are you going to do about it, George?"

"Yes Papa! It's so embarrassing to my followers who followed my vlogs  to know that the trending runaway bride is related to me."  Zee  added.

"I'm afraid that the Collins will take back their promise of a merger. We might lose the support of the Collins because of this humiliation. George you must do something for them not to lost their favours." Amira declared.

"What do you think I must do to show them that we are innocent of what she had planned? Disown her!" George sarcastically replied.

"Do you know what you are suggesting Amira? She is my daughter! She has the biggest share in the company because of her mother's share." George said disgustingly.

"The company that you are about to loose should the Collins withdraw their  support! I'm sure that is what they are thinking of doing." George thought before retrieving  his phone  to call his daughter. But all he gets was the automated reply that the subscriber cannot be reach.

"Damn her phone is off!" While at that same time Lorraine is  on board the plane that will fly her out of their life.
