Chapter 69

It was a Sunday a few weeks later when Chan and her sisters finally had the chance to go through the many items Sam and Jeremy had found in their old house’s attic. Sam led them to the storage in the basement of the Harrington’s headquarters building. There, he unlocked and then opened one of the many storage doors and said, “Take your time going through them.”

“Thanks, Sam,” Soriya said.

Before he left, Sam gave Chan a light kiss on the forehead. When he moved back, he said, “I’ll be up in the office doing some work.”

Chan nodded, and a moment later, he was gone.

Dara switched on the light and then headed inside.

Soriya said, “I can’t believe we missed checking the attic. But I was sure we’d never put anything up there.”

Chan said, “We certainly hadn’t, but I guess Mom and Dad had.”

Dara nodded.
