Max put his hands on my shoulder. That was when I realized I was shaking. “Don't touch me. Answer my question, why do you have this?"

Hurt flash on Max's face but I didn't care. If he had known the company I was working for why did he not say anything all this time.

“Let me explain Selena but you need to sit down."

“I rather stand Max."

“Okay if that's what you want, just… Please listen to me. I own Queens plc. I know I should have said something but I wanted to make you comfortable working there. I did not want you telling me you will quit just because it's my company.”

I stood there with surprise and shock flowing through me. Max had lied to me, he had known something and he had decided not to tell me. Was he responsible for the change of behavior of my manager?
