Chapter 34

The veins on the sides of Charles's forehead started to pop as he drove in his Range Rover Velar and bit his bottom lip.

He had wanted to drive at top speed, but the thought of landing in trouble with the police despite his affiliation with Officer Daniels, discouraged him as he drove within the stipulated speed limit.

Charles had received a threatening message from the kidnappers. And failure to carry out what the message said would endanger the lives of Fiona, David and Leonardo.

The message read:

[Charles Parker.

It's been over five days since we took custody of your friends.

A ransom had been put before you. But, it appears to me that you consider all of this to be a joke.

If you cared about your so-called Fiona and the other two guys, you would have done the needful by now.

I could have called you on the phone but decided to message you instead, that way you won't have the authorities trace my call.

Now listen and listen carefully.
