Chapter 3 – Spoilt Brat

While she took the liberty of time to soak herself up in a tub full of warm water, her mind swirled with the thoughts of her encounters with Kendrick.

Although she imagined a life of love and bliss with him, she wondered if he thought the same toward her.

It was commonplace for wealthy men like Kendrick to use and dump any girl they desired now and then. Was this fantasy she played out going to be real or was this one too going to be the same as the norm of the rich in New York?

“And the gentleman at the grocery store… hmm he seemed like a really nice guy, simple and yet looked like a real moneybag too just like Kendrick,” she thought to herself as she smiled mildly and rubbed her sleek body over and over with a white sponge.

She got out of the tub and finished her bath under the shower. Not long after she stepped out of the bathroom, tying a white towel around her body and another on her head, her phone began to ring.

She hesitated but knowing who was calling, she picked the call smiling profusely as though she was expecting that particular call.

A sweet romantic blues track played in the background as she gently lowered her body to the stool in front of the makeup table. It indeed set the atmosphere in the kind of mood needed for a romantic night.

“Hello there,” she graciously voiced out smiling.

“Good evening beautiful,” Kendrick responded with such sweet calm in his voice.

“Good evening”

“How are you doing this evening?” He asked.

“Fine, thank you.

Alright

“You thought I was never going to call right?” He asked.

“Kind of” she smiled.

“I wouldn’t dare that” he replied calmly.

“Alright. How was work today?” She asked.

“Fine, but I would love to see you soon,” he said.

Okay.

“Will you be free tomorrow?” We could just go somewhere just to cool off.

Okay, that’s fine.

“Alright,” I’ll text you the address.

Okay.

“Alright” Goodnight.

Good night.

Call ended...

“Hmm hmm,” Lauren scoffed.

What?

“For how long have you been there?” she asked Lauren.

A minute or two, I don’t know.

“It’s him right?” She winked.

“Lauren gets lost,” Loretta said placing her phone on the makeup stand.

“That isn’t happening. I’ll be right here waiting for you to come to give me the full gist,” she smiled sitting on the bed.

“Crazy” Loretta nodded her head and entered the bathroom.

Later that night, Loretta decided to gist Lauren about Kendrick.

“Okay, I’m listening,” Lauren said with all seriousness.

One thing about Lauren is that she likes gist more than any other thing in this world.

She could stay all night gisting with Loretta and she won’t feel a thing.

They love each other so much and they also tell each other practically everything.

“I told you about what happened at the garden right?” She asked Lauren.

Yeah.

“Okay. That same strange handsome man happens to be the same Kendrick Robert, the CEO of KR enterprise that my company partners with,” she explained.

“Wow!” Lauren exclaimed.

“Yes, girl”

“Okay, what happened afterward?” Lauren asked.

“After meeting at our office, I met with him days after to give him insight into the new development concerning the ongoing project,” Loretta explained.

Okay?

“Yes, He collected my contact after he verified from the meeting that I was the one he saw at the garden,” Lauren explained.

“Okay, tonight is his first time calling you?” Lauren asked.

“Yep,” Loretta replied.

“That’s nice,” Lauren smiled.

“You like him?” she asked.

“Slow down babe, I’m just meeting this guy for goodness sake,” Loretta rolled her eyes.

“Ok, let’s search him online,” Lauren suggested.

“Why?” Loretta asked.

“I want to see what he looks like,” Lauren said.

Loretta reluctantly typed his name on his browser and showed it to her.

“Oh, my goodness,” Lauren screamed.

This man is damn hot. How can someone be this cute?

It’s okay Lauren.

“Stop fantasizing nonsense already,” Loretta collected her phone from her.

“But seriously, he’s hot,” Lauren said.

“Yeah I know,” Loretta smiled.

“Great. What are you wearing tomorrow?” Lauren asked.

“Anything I can lay my hands on,” Loretta said.

“No way… You’ll have to look beautiful and hot.”

“He needs to see all those sexy curves of yours,” Lauren explained with all seriousness.

“Lauren, stop being dramatic,” Loretta said.

“I’m not. In fact, I’ll help you find something to wear. Just leave that to me,” she smiled.

“Alright, ma’am… So, please can we go to bed now?” Loretta asked already placing her pillow right to sleep.

“Yes ma’am,” Lauren said and they both laughed.

On Saturday...

Loretta was making breakfast in the kitchen when Lauren rushed in with her phone.

“You have a call,” She said to Loretta.

“Oh, thanks.”

She collected the phone from Lauren and stepped out of the kitchen to pick the call.

“Hello”

Good morning lifesaver.

Good morning. “Please who am I unto?” She asked.

Roy Albert.

Roy Al......” The guy from the supermarket?” She asked.

“That’s right,” he said.

Alright. “How are you doing?” She asked.

I’m great. “Thank you for saving me some shame yesterday,” he said calmly.

C’mon, that was not a big deal. “I’m glad I could help.” She said.

Alright. “How is your weekend going?” he asked

Smoothly, Thank you.

Alright. “Please can I ask you for something?” He asked.

Sure.

“A dinner just to say thank you,” he said.

“There is no need for that,” she said.

Please just one dinner.” Please” he pleaded.

Alright, if you Insist.

“Thank you” he smiled.

“Is tomorrow okay with you?” He asked.

Yeah.

Okay. I’ll text you the address.

Alright.

Okay. “Do take care and have a lovely day ahead.” He said.

“You too” She replied calmly.

Call disconnected.

“Hmmm, Someone is becoming a celebrity gradually” Lauren teased.

“You’re not serious” she smiled and went back into the kitchen.

I’m glad you’re finally losing up a bit.

“ The ‘you’ I used to know, is always picky and probably wouldn’t have given your contact out even if he brings down the heaven to the earth” Lauren teased.

Don’t be so sure. “It’s just a harmless dinner” Loretta replied.

Going for dinners is always the starting point. “Remember when I used to say it was just a harmless dinner with Matt, but here we are now,” Lauren said.

From dinner to subsequent dinners and from subsequent dinners to just make out. From just make out to hot and mind-blowing sex. “I mean look at us now,” Lauren explained.

“That’s you anyways, but mind-blowing sex wouldn’t be a bad idea” Loretta winked at Lauren.

“Spoilt brat” Lauren coursed.

“Hold on, when was the last time you get laid?” Lauren asked.

“Long enough to want to get laid again” she smiled.

“I guess you really need that mind-blowing sex” Lauren nodded and Loretta laughed.

In the evening, she got dressed and drove out to the venue she’s supposed to meet up with Kendrick.

Deep down she already knew he was going to be there before her.

Loretta was dressed in a fitted long gown that complimented her curves.

Loretta has very fresh and smooth light skin, coupled with a banging body shape and a straight leg.

Kendrick got there at the exact time he sent to her but he wasn’t sitting at his reserved table.

He was seated at the extreme edge of the VIP lounge quite enclosed from view.

He saw her walked in like the queen that she is. He purposely didn’t sit at the table.

5minute became 10minutes.

He still didn’t move from where he was seated. He could see that she was trying to call but his phone was on airplane mode.

10 became 15minutes. 15minutes became 20minutes.

Loretta was surprised that he wasn’t there when she got in.

She waited for few minutes yet no sign of him anywhere.

She tried calling but his line wasn’t connecting.

She inquired the barman who directed her to the table if he has an idea of his whereabouts but he doesn’t.

After she waited for thirty good minutes, she decided to leave.

Just as she was about to step out, she heard a voice called from behind.

“Hello beautiful,” he said with a charming smile.

“Hi,” Loretta said looking slightly pissed off.

“I’m so sorry for keeping you waiting” he apologized.

“Okay,” she replied.

“Can we go back and have our dinner?” He asked.

Loretta followed him back to the reserved seats and in no time they were served.

Kendrick couldn’t take his eyes off her throughout the dinner. He has never come across a lady like her.

Despite standing her up for roughly half an hour, she still composed herself. This is something most successful working-class ladies don’t possess.

“This young lady is going to be mine no matter what it takes me,” he said to himself.

Kendrick does that to Virtually any girl he takes to dinner and none of them has once passed except Loretta.

This proves that she isn’t just a classic girl but also a responsible lady and that’s all that he wants.

Kendrick has always prayed to meet a lady who is successful on her own and above all, a patient and easy-going person, and that he just found in Loretta.

“Are you still angry with me?” He asked.

Not at all. “I understood probably you were tied down with something or it could probably be the traffic.” She explained.

Okay. “Thanks for your understanding” he smiled.

You’re welcome.

They talked about work and some stuff while they were both eat.

Loretta who is always not so free with having dinner with her clients or business partners that is not related to work finds it funny how she’s so free with Kendrick.

She told him and he only smiled.

“I guess maybe it’s because this will be happening often from now henceforth” he smiled.

“I don’t understand,” she said calmly.

Don’t worry.

“So tell me, do you have a man in your life?” Kendrick asked.

“Yes of course” she smiled.

Wow.” Something serious or just for fun?” He asked.

Of course, it’s something serious. “In fact, I don’t joke with him” she smiled.

Kendrick felt bad but he couldn’t back down just like that.

“He’s so lucky then” he replied sipping his drink.

“No, I am the lucky one” she smiled.

“Why?” He asked.

“He has shown me, true love. He always put me before himself and that alone is something no man can ever beat” She said.

“Nice” Kendrick only nodded his head.
