**Book Two** Xavion . "Who? What company?" My brow slightly raised as I turned towards Glenn, my cousin. "Mr. Jason Gray, the CEO of GSM Corporation, Xav. It's not a massive company, but it's big enough to put our investment into them. They have three branches abroad. One is in Queensland, one is in Illinois, and one is in Paris. They want to expand a branch here in Dalton. And for them to do that, they need to get into our company first. They need to merge with us." Glenn paused and took a deep breath. He looked at me seriously, reading what's inside my mind now. I gritted my teeth as we stared, and the feeling of anger rose in me once again. "It's a good company to invest in, Xavion. I know you rejected them six months ago, and for whatever reason you had back then, I respected it. It's all up to you to decide now. What do you want to do?" I inhaled calmly and looked at Glenn's eyes. It's time to face my favorite mistake. "Okay. Let's listen to their proposal. I'm free first
Quinn . Oh, my heart. I looked at him, feeling lost at the moment. I don't know what to say to him. I haven't prepared for this and didn't expect this to happen. I wish I knew this ahead, but I didn't. Now, seeing him after three years is nerve-wracking. Not just my heart but my entire being is shaken. I miss him so much. He was still the same guy that I loved three years ago. . . Tall, lean, broad shoulders, and still bloody handsome, gorgeous-looking man. He looks good. So much better than how he used to be back then. Our eyes locked, and my breath cut off guard. I could no longer move. "Good morning, it's Xavion Xavier Mondragon." He extended his hand to me, and I looked at it. Is he pretending not to know me? Is that it? My heart throbbed. I can't blame him. It was me who hurt him deeply. I cleared my throat and cut my thoughts. "Q-Quinn Langley. I-It's n-nice to meet you, Sir," I stammered. Our hands touched, and his tight grip on my hand melted my heart. I smiled, but
Xavion . “And what are you planning this time, Xavion?” Glenn gave me a suspicious look in the eyes. “What do you mean?” I shook my head and made a grin. My emotions seemed out of control when I saw her. I expected it, but then I was caught off guard by how she looked now compared to how she was back then. Her beauty remained undiminished, but now it shone with an even greater radiance than before. Blooming and glowing, and she seems happy. Yes, this is what she wants. Her dream has become her reality, and she used me for that. She obviously got what she wanted after all. She looks better and stronger. Her eyes tell me that. I can feel that. For years, I did my best to forget her - erased her in all possible ways. If only I could erase her image and name inside my heart, I could have done that. I don’t care about the price as long as I will never go through the same pain again. But dammit. Seeing her today breaks all the barriers in my heart. “Come on, Xav, I know you. You hav
Quinn . A slap on the face! Yeah, I deserve it. Marie gently massaged my hair. Instead of going home, I walked like a zombie all the way to Marie's apartment. It's closer to where The Monde Suites building's location. A walking distance only. I felt defeated, hurt, and neglected. And what do I expect? I deserve this. I'm crazy. I know that. Xavion is still attractive to me. He is still my world. I never stopped loving him, and that's the truth. All these years, I never dated anyone. I was waiting for him. I had suitors, but I did not entertain them. It was only him I wanted. "And what's your ex look like?" Marie massaged my scalp. I shut my eyes. "FLG," I sighed. "Hm?" As I open my eyes, I notice that Marie has stopped moving her hand, and one of her eyebrows is raised. "Finger lickin' good," I said, twisting my lips. She laughed. "You are crazy, Quinn." She shook her head. "Did you tell him everything?" I shook my head. "There's no point in telling. He won't listen. I kn
Quinn . An old gentleman named Dan fetched me at precisely seven in the evening. I was looking forward to today, but Xavion suddenly canceled my appointment. Mr Jason Gray, my boss, called me earlier for a follow-up. He can't wait for the merging, as I told him I will send Xavion's legal documents today. But to my disappointment, Xavion canceled our meeting and moved it to this time. The car stopped, and I brought my windows down to check the building. It's a five-star hotel suite owned by the Mondragons. It's flashy as it looks, and it gives a diamond feel. My lips parted as it brought back the memory of Xavion and me, and I overlooked that Mr. Dan had already opened the car door for me. "Thank you, Sir," I said the moment I got out of the car. "Miss Quinn, just call me by my name. I'm not a sir," he slightly laughs. "Enjoy your night, Miss Quinn." "Thank you, Mr. Dan," I smiled and headed off. I entered the elegant hotel, and my hands were sweaty and cold. My flesh is shaki
Quinn . When I arrived at my unit, my tears constantly flowed. It was never-ending. And now that the sun shines, I have no energy left, and here I am, still hugging my pillow, thinking of him. My eyes are red and swollen. I can't go to work like this. So, I sent my boss a message and asked one of my assistants to get the legal document I had with me. "It's all good, Quinn. Have your rest. You did great. Just bring it with you next time when you feel a lot better. At the moment, I'm scanning the documents you sent me. This will do at the moment. Thank you, Quinn." Mr. Jason expressed his gratitude in the line. "It's my job, Sir. Thank you for understanding." "Your voice seems so down. Is there something wrong? Have you had your breakfast?" "I don't feel like eating, Sir. I will be fine." "Okay. Food will be delivered today for you. Don't worry," he said in his bubbly voice and laughed. He ended the call after that. I sighed as I headed towards the toilet. I'm thankful that Mr.
Quinn . I’m nervous like a mouse afraid of the cat. I don’t know how I’ll react, seeing Xavion again. My leave was over. I returned to work three days ago, and Mr. Jason Gray had a blast. Four days ago, the party was in his place. I didn’t attend. I don’t feel like partying. He was celebrating the merging of his company with one of the Mondragon’s companies. He was over the moon and very thankful to me, and now that the merging is on and the work has begun, I will temporarily assist Xavion with Mr. Jason Gray’s company side. Why me again? Why not Jarrod, his son? How could he do this? I already told him on the phone that I couldn’t work under Xavion anymore. But then why again? - “Mr. Xavion exclusively asked for you, Miss Quinn, and for me to say no to the man who fulfilled my dream is rude. Please, Miss Quinn, do me a favor this time. You are the best person in this field, and I don’t want any mistakes. My son, Jarrod, is prone to that. I cannot trust him.” - I was back at T
Xavion . “So, you’re keeping Quinn on your den?” Glenn’s brows furrowed abruptly with a hideous smile. I shook my head, avoiding eye contact. “I know what’s running on your mind now, bro. I saw how flared your eyes when you looked at Jarrod earlier. It seems like you want to kill him beside Quinn. That was funny, bro.” He chuckled and slightly shook his head. “Why do you need Quinn to work under you? It will be uncomfortable for both of you.” I put all the remaining papers in my drawer and prepared to leave for dinner. “I don’t know, Glenn. I just want her as a possession. That’s all.” I said and shut the drawer. “A possession? Are you treating her as a possession now? Do you have an idea of what you are saying now?” He nearly laughed. “As far as I know, Quinn left you. Not just once, but twice. It’s not my business to interfere in your personal life, but you are my cousin. And I have to remind you again that your father will not be happy with this. When are you going to tell
