Aella couldn’t believe she had just been married to Damien. He smiled at her as she had a frown on her face. After the pastor announced them as husband and wife, Damien had to pull Aella closer while others congratulated them.
“You need to smile if you want this to be believable, he whispered to her through grunted teeth so that no one would know he was warning her, and just like a charm, she immediately smiled widely.
“I was smiling.” She whispered back.
“It’s time for the bride and groom to walk down the aisle, and with this, they seal their bonds together, promising to love each other till death do them apart.” The priest said, and with that, Damien took Aella's hands in his as they both walked down the path, waiting for them to pass. Damien stared at his mother, and she had a very broad smile on her face as she applauded with all her might. Aella also saw how happy she looked and had a flashback to the day of the contract.
***Flashback***
“Why do you want me to have a fake marriage with you when you can just have any woman as your bride without having to pay any commission to her?" Aella was questioned after finally agreeing to do what he wanted.
“Because I don’t want to be committed to any woman, and I don’t think I can love anyone, but my mother doesn’t care as all she wants is a grandchild.” Damien said this to her as Aella's eyes almost popped out due to surprise.
“Do I still have to bear a child for you?” Aella questioned, and Damien also hadn’t thought about all that before talking about this contract deal.
“Yes, but you don’t have to worry—no strings or affection included. I would only be in intercourse with you with the sole aim of bearing a child, and once you do finally have one, you only get to stay with the child for a year, and we file for divorce, and you won’t be attached to my child anymore; you would be a free woman again.” Damien said, and at that moment, Aella was also okay with his condition.
****Flashback Ends***
As Aella walked past her mother-in-law with a sad expression. Damien was about to hurt his mother intentionally, as well as the child that would come into this marriage. Aella thought of what would happen to the child if she were to leave him at just the age of one or if the child would ever find out that his mother and father never loved each other but got married due to consequences.
“What are you thinking about? You need to stop having a sad expression. Cameras are clicking.” Damien whispered, taking her out of her sad thoughts.
“I am sorry. I just can’t believe I am getting married this early in my life, but I don’t want to think about it anymore.” Aella said to Damien, even though she was well aware that Damien didn’t care.
It was soon time for their photoshoots outside the church building.
“Do you think we need to have an album for a wedding that won’t last more than a year?" She whispered to Damien as the cameramen slowly set up their snapping equipment, and Damien's mother was also setting up her make-up in preparation for the photos.
“We don’t have a choice; my mother made sure to remind me of the fact that, as she said, she wants to keep a memory of everything.” Damien said to her as she nodded in realization and slowly a wide smile spread on her face. She was very glad that someone in the family was nice, and she pulled care about her when Damien wouldn’t care because it was more than obvious that Damien didn’t like her guys, let alone anything about her.
“Please smile for us, beautiful bride.” were all the things she could hear, as no one even cared about how Damien looked or dressed; he was more like a decoration to the pictures.
It was soon time for pictures with the family, and Damien's mother rushed up to Aella and hugged her tightly, almost lifting her up as she stared in shock as Damien's mother dropped her slowly to the ground.
“I am so happy you finally joined the family; I swear I didn’t believe him and thought she was just trying to make a mockery of my plea that he get married.” She said to me so loudly that I slowly felt embarrassed.
“She is such a beautiful wife, to be honest, another man said, and with the way his aura felt, Aella knew immediately that he was either Damien's uncle or a rival.
"Yes, Michael, I mean, look at her. I knew Damien to have a unique taste, but this woman is just so perfect and unique, I don’t know how else to explain it.” His mother said this to Aella as she pulled her cheeks playfully, making her smile.
“Just so you know if Damien ever treats you badly, make sure to report it to me. I know he won’t dare to treat you badly because he explained to me how much he loved you and how you took his breath away on the first day.” She added, making her turn her glares back at Damien; he didn’t even let her know of all the tales he had told his mother, and now all Aella could do was smile wierdly, like she was well aware of everything his mother had just said.
“And also, please take good care of Damien; he's the only son I have.” She said, and then Aella realized that he was the only son of his mother, which would explain why she made the wedding so grand.
“And don’t forget to be quick to produce grandchildren for me, and I know you won’t slag at that. You can even start today." She whispered the last part to Aella, making her blush.
*****
After the shoot, Damien's mother continuously tried to bond with Aella, it was time for the reception, and Aella and Damien had to use a different car to get there. Now it was Aella and Damien alone as she knew he was about to start complaining about everything.
“Why couldn’t you speak when my mother tried to bond with you?” He whispered to her, making Aella roll her eyes subconsciously.
“I was trying to be as respectful as possible.” She said this to Damien, who nodded with a smile at her response, and here she was thinking he was about to yell at her.
“Your grandmother's surgery is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning, so you would have the privilege of seeing her.” Damien said. He subconsciously wanted her to be happy, since it was so obvious she wasn’t happy right from the beginning of the wedding.
Aella could not hold in her happiness as she smiled widely and was about to hug him as her own way of thanking him when she noticed her mistake and pulled away.
“Thank you so much.” She whispered to Damien, who didn’t say anything, and he tried to contain his smile.
Their car soon arrived at the venue, and the guests welcomed them with loud applause and fliers everywhere. But Aella was a bit happy about how everything was slowly going, as she felt like the bad person playing a trick on everyone’s mind, but Damien didn’t even care, so she also didn’t care. The celebration continued for an hour, with everyone bringing different gifts for the both of them.
It was soon almost nightfall, and they had to leave for their honeymoon, which was still at Damien's house, as all her luggage had already been placed in Damien’s mansion, waiting for their arrival.
When they got to the mansion, Aella was already exhausted and had no energy in her anymore. She rushed into the apartment, not even bothered to admire the exquisite taste of his apartment. She turned towards Damien, who was still taking off his shoes.
“Where is my bedroom?” She said this to Damien, who looked up at her weirdly.
“Do you want to have a separate bedroom?” He asked, stunning Aella as she moved closer to him.
“Are we going to sleep in the same bedroom?" She said this to Damien, who chuckled.
“Yes, do you want my mom to make life miserable for us? She would be here almost all the time, and she wouldn’t like you to have a separate bedroom, so sleep in mine." Damien said to her before pointing to his room, as he wasn’t ready to sleep just yet. He had just made a decision in his life that he felt he was soon about to regret.
Meanwhile, Aella, not caring about Damien, just ran straight to the bedroom and, without even doing anything, fell into bed, ready to sleep.
Damien sat down in his little bar for a late-night drink, which he usually does, and soon decided to take a nap as he had been stuck at his house with Aeppa for three days and had no choice, all for the sake of his mother.
He opened the door to see Aella fast asleep with her body fully spread on the King-size bed when Damien thought of an idea to wake her up and make her notice she had done something wrong by taking a nap on the bed.
He quietly tiptoes to the bathroom, takes a bowl of water, and returns to pour it all on Aella's body. She was so shocked by her sleep that she woke up breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath.
“What was that for?” She questioned, still trying to understand what was going on.
“You are in my house, and I won't agree to this trash you keep doing. You can't walk into someone's bedroom and just take a nap, and mostly not with a wedding gown. After everything you had to do today, you still took a nap with it!!” he yelled, making her stand up as she was about to enter the bedroom, but he pulled her back.
“Go and make use of the bathroom in the sitting room or somewhere else,” he muttered before pushing her out, and although Aella was exhausted, she still had no choice but to follow his command and do what he wanted from her.
After Damien had taken his shower, he came out, and his room felt so much like his. He sniffed the air around him with satisfaction before taking his seat on the bed and turning on his phone, only to be shocked by lots of numbers and messages from people he knew and also didn't know. There was even a much louder uproar online as everyone was talking about his wedding and how grand it was and also how gorgeous his bride was.
“She looked like a fairy from a fairytale movie," he muttered out the comment from the post his mother had made.
And just then, Aella rushed in with only a towel wrapped around her chest and an awkward smile to top it all up.
"Uhm," she began, but Damien had already lost his mind staring. His gaze began from her skin down to her covered body and back to her wet hair, blushing cheeks, and most especially her smile.
“I am sorry I had to walk in this way; you pushed me out without my night dress or anything else," she said to Damien, but he was still unable to control himself.
“Damien?” She called out in confusion as he suddenly came to his senses.
“What were you saying?” Damien questioned him while he tried to keep a straight face.“I can't find my clothes anywhere,” she said, and he pointed to the closet.“They are all in there," he said, still trying to process what was really going on.Damien couldn’t understand what was really going on with him. Why would he be attracted to someone like Aella?Aella, without noticing a thing, continued to search around for the perfect night dress to put on, and when Damien noticed all that was going on with him from below, he immediately stood up and ran out of the room, making Aella stare at the running Damien in confusion.Damien ran straight to the sitting room and heaved heavily into what he had just encountered with his body.“Wow!! That’s crazy; what could possibly be wrong with me that made me so attracted to her?” Damien questioned himself and, at the same time, tried to keep himself calm.“I need to avoid her as much as I can. I know this marriage is a contract marriage, but why is
Damien gazed at Aella's smile for a long while before coming back to his senses as he remembered what he had promised himself: that he wouldn’t fall for Aella, and the only way to avoid that was by being aggressive and mean to her, which was what he was about to do despite how badly he wanted to taste any of the dishes on the table.“Did I ask you to prepare breakfast for me?” Damien asked Aella, who was stunned to hear him say that.“I wanted his morning to be an easy one for you where you didn’t have to really worry about anything but yourself.” Aella replied to Damien in fright.“You should learn to always ask for permission before doing anything, and this ain’t your house to be making unnecessary decisions and making the house too noisy and uncomfortable for the current owner!!” He yelled at Aella as she suddenly felt embarrassed and tried to hold back the tears. Aella couldn’t understand why he was being so bad and mean to her, and despite how hard she was trying to please him, he
Damien couldn’t still believe that Aella was snubbing him in his own house. He stood up immediately and went after her to the sitting room. She was just about to go to sleep, but he couldn’t just let her slip away with what she had just done.“Aella! Did you just avoid me?” Damien questioned him, and slowly Aella turned to him.“Yeah.” She whispered and turned away, backing Damien yet again.“I was only trying to correct you.” Damien insisted, as he couldn’t point out why she was acting that way.“You threw my food away. I know you hate me because of what I did to you the first day we met, but that doesn’t mean you have to shove it on my face that you hate me so much!!” Aella yelled before stomping off. Damien decided to visit his mother to ask for advice, as he didn’t want to fall in love with her but had no choice.“So why are you here when your honeymoon isn’t over yet?” His mother began as they sat opposite each other in Damien's garden.“I need your advice.” Damien began, but deep
Aella was directed to the room where her grandmother was, and the guards didn’t for once stop following her.She prayed in anticipation for her grandmother before slowly opening the door to the room, and her grandmother was lying there silently.“Grandma” Aella called out, and to her greatest surprise, her grandmother turned her head in her direction, as she couldn’t hold back her tears, and ran straight to her, hugging her very tightly.“My child, why the tears? As you can see, I am perfectly fine.” Her grandmother said this to Aella while cleaning the tears off her cheeks.“I heard you were able to find a donor for me. That must have been really difficult for you.” She continued as Aella didn’t care about anything and was only very happy that Damien had kept to the promise, and for this alone, she was ready to bear all the pain and ache that came with being Damien's wife, even if he wouldn’t ever find anything she did significant.“I have good news for you, grandmother.” Aella began
Damien held his cheeks tightly as he tried not to unleash all his anger on her.“What did you just do??” Damien questioned Aella, but instead all she did was try to walk away, but this time Damien wasn’t going to allow it. He pulled her back and slammed her back harshly against the wall, making her wince in pain.“You are hurting me, Damien." She cooed, but Damien had already had enough of her, and instead of letting go of her, he held her even more fiercely and tighter in her way that she couldn’t move.“Do you think just because I let you go for slapping me the other time means I would let you go now? Don’t ever try it, Aella!! Don’t you dare ever try it, or else I will make the rest of your days in my house more than miserable. I don’t mind you hating me for life, but don’t you dare slap me again!!!” He yelled at Aella, making her shiver nervously at his words as she nodded positively.“I won’t touch you anymore. Please don’t punish me. I beg of you." She pleaded, unable to wait for
Aella understood what Damien's mother was trying to say, as she was fully aware that the mother understood they didn't really love each other as they claimed to, but still had them change to love each other.“You two should never tell anyone what is happening between you, even though I really want to know about everything going on, but that doesn't mean you should tell me everything too. You should have your secrets, but with all this, it doesn't mean you all won't make me the first person you tell when our baby and unborn child arrive.”“Thank you, mother.” Damien said, slowly walking his mother out of the house as she ran back to hug Aella one more time before rushing out."Goodbye, Aella!!” his mother yelled.Damien soon walked in with a frown, like his mother hadn't just leaked out all his secrets.“I will be going upstairs; in case you need anything, just let me know.” Damien was about to walk away, but when he noticed no one was replying to him, he turned around to Aella with a c
“I don’t want the both of us to fight anymore; I am always worried and bothered by what you are thinking, and I hate being worried about someone.” Damien whispered even from his sleep, making Aella smile in satisfaction. Aella was happy that he was still trying to avoid any problems with her, and he was now more like a changed person.“Should I make dinner for you before you wake up?” Aella whispered, hoping to hear what Damien would say.“Yes, make most of them like the one you made the other day. I loved them.” He muttered, making Aella giggle joyfully at how everything was slowly turning out to be.“Okay, I will prepare a grand dinner for you.” Aella said and rushed straight to the kitchen, bringing out all the delicate and important ingredients as she turned the kitchen upside down just to make sure everything came out perfectly. She was soon done with everything made for the grand dinner, and just as she headed towards Damien to wake him up, she sluggishly stood up and rubbed his
Damien broke the silence with a loud chuckle as he paced around, still laughing. “You think our contract is that stupid, or do you think you can just break it whenever you want!!?"Damien asked Aella, who was still trying to act as bravely as possible. “Your words won’t get through to me that easily. I have made up my mind to leave this marriage; I don’t mind being your slave.” Aella said this to Damien, who chuckled even louder.“You can’t walk out of this marriage; why is it so hard for you to understand that?" Damien yelled before rushing towards Aella, who was quick to notice his movements and was now sure that he was coming to hit her, which she immediately dodged.“You can’t hit me, Damien; I didn’t marry you to become a punching bag." Aella said this to Damien, who was surprised to see her try to outsmart him. “I wasn’t going to hit you; I just wanted to warn you to stay away from me and stop acting like you can end this marriage. You can’t!!!” Damien said with a frustrated glar
Aella was swept off her feet more than she could have imagined, but not by someone she had thought. She decided she was not going to think about Damien or anything that has to do with him, or literally anything that is tied to his being. She didn't want to think about it. as much as she knew this was the happiest she had ever been since they got married. The least she could do for herself now was to stop ruminating about the past, not when she was starting to come back to being herself. This was the gift to herself, and this was more like the best gift ever. She will stop thinking about him and focus more on understanding herself; she was planning to get a divorce sooner than later. She wanted to be totally free so she could start living again. She's sat in the car; it's a new hair and a her new self. As they rode across the city, she looked back at Blythe, who seemed to be very happy and seemed to be thinking of something that made him smile every second. She looked away from his fac
Just the right amount of sauce to make him look like God's sent. She stared at Blythe, who just unconsciously did the cutest things. There were times he talked to himself, there were times he just glared out the window, or there were times where he just picked up the salon magazine and read it, and his expressions whenever he came across something controversial made him the perfect partner to give your work the gist.Blythe had taken the initiative to get Aella a snack after every hour at the salon he got her milkshakes and takeouts.“Here's some for you!” Blythe voiced handing over the takeout box to her.By this time she had just started to make her hair; she had first gotten into washing it and then styling it.“Thank you!” She smiled, and he walked back to his seat.“That's an intentional mannn!" The hairstylist teased her as Blythe fully walked away.Aella didn't know what to think, nor did she know what to say to the hairstylist.“He's just my friend!” Aella responded with a smi
He paced back and forth as he struggled to keep to himself for the past three weeks—nothing from her—nothing to keep his feelings in check, not even her green light. It was every risky to go visit her in her workplace, as he appeared to be a potential threat to Damien, especially when Damien was the reason for this whole mess in the first place. He picked up his phone for the billionth time trying to place a call to her and explained things well enough to her. But he couldn't; he couldn't bring himself to explain the truth of the whole matter to her; that would not only end him; it would also end their whole family name and career. The way they had left things off, they knew Marie would probably see him as a bad person or worse, a monster that didn't deserve to live.Seth had always wished he wasn't born into the family he was born into, and quite true, he didn't like it there, but ever since he met Marie, he had wished more for that prayer to come to pass than ever before. He felt c
"Well, I must say you look absolutely beautiful." Blythe complimented Aella as he opened the car door for her.Aella had never had alone time with Blythe before; spending the whole day with him felt so illegal, but she knew she had to leave her room at least once so she wouldn't rot away in misery. She had thought about it all so much that she didn't want to think about it anymore; she just wanted to start living life again. The life she had thought she could live with Damien, but it turns out that she couldn't.It's funny how the same life she craved for was the same life God had helped her package with her mom; she could live freely and not depend on anyone. For the first time, she smiled, and that smile was genuine.“And I must say you don't look bad yourself!”. Aella responded with a soft voice.Seeing her smile is his delight, and he wanted more of it to happen. He kicked the car to a start, and they started their little journey.Aella wasn't used to engaging in conversations wit
Yes, maybe there were people out there who hurt you real bad, but you need to understand that they shouldn't make you stop loving; you just choose to love yourself enough to love them and not overlove them, so you know when to leave or when to live by grace, just like you would give yourself a voice when necessary.Aella had left Vollini and Becca in the living room to discuss while she just went to her roomma. DN just wallowed. She cuddled up in her bed and just stared out the window. She watched as the snow fell lightly; she could think of nothing else than just...Her baby…Damien was no longer on her mind; she couldn't really care less; he had done what he had to do, and he had done his worst already. If he cheated, it really wasn't any of her business; the only thing she blamed herself for was staying that long trying to take her power back. She sighed again, giving the fact that she had so many things planned out for herself and her baby. She looked down at her phone and realize
Chapter 139“Just when you thought you had it all, there another shows up to be the worst."Collins paced back and forth in the living room of Becca's house as he wanted to tell Becca about how unruly Damien had been to his sister. Aella wasn't in the midst of all these; they had allowed her to be alone for a while in her room, which they made sure to check on her on a few occasions.“Does he ever think at all, like why is he being the animal that he delivered me from, why is he being like that forsaken dude called Seth?" Collins raged again.Truthfully, he hadn't known his sister's case until they got home from the hospital, and immediately he heard it took the strength in Becca to keep him grounded and not go to confront Damien.Collins had just arrived at the right time.Becca was instantly notified of how inseparable Collins and Aella are; she saw how much love they both have for each other, and she is more than willing to love them both. But she wondered who this sort of guy Coll
Just at the beginning of dusk, there was a man who you would consider lonely due to his demeanour and the way he looked so unlikely, he looked destabilised he look tormented like he had from NS fetching out his should price by piece. He suddenly realised how much he had taken from her ,how much thing he had stolen and as much he was willing to give it back, he knew he wasn't in the right position to go ve it because initially je had stolen it from her.Damien stood on the highway his car parked by the side of the road as he stared AFR off into the distance his eyes fixated on something -the city lights but his eyes wasn't on them his eyes were remembering and capturing something's that would shine as bright as the city lights. Her eyes Over time he realised that he had witnessed how the glow in her eyes disappeared each was eryryutme he became an asshole, every time he decuded ti step down from being a man to bueng a toddler. He heaved a deep sigh as the whole guilt pulled a weight i
Not all that glittered seems to be gold... But for Damien, his vomit seems to glitter like gold and looks like the most beautiful diamonds from the outside. As he dropped Aella in the hospital, he turned back and went back to work. He didn't bother to ask what happened to her or what might happen to her; he asked then if she was going to be fine, and they said definitely the rest if it was none of his business, but unfortunately enough, they told him as much as he didn't want to hear about everything the doctor called him as he got to the office. The doctor's call came through as he was about to enter his office. On getting into the office, he noticed that Amelia was no longer in the office, including her bag and all. He answered the call and settled down.Luckily, the doctor happened to be his friend!!!“Hey Corniel!” He voiced over the phone, rearranging his fiel and just getting ready to head home.“You seemed to be in a hurry; was there something that came up?” Corniel asked as t
Sometimes things aren't always as they seem, sometimes it's the opposite and sometimes it's true but sometimes it's just complicated. But for Aella it was exactly what it seems like, Damien was slowly bringing in his ex into their marriage to replace her and guess what??She wanted it that way…At least with that she was out of the marriage and out of his life.“What was what?” She asked, popping a lollipop in her mouth.“Hmm, nice strawberry flavour!” She thought to herself after the full taste of the lollipop filled her mouth. She honestly didn't care about the useless and unrecognised tantrum Damien was throwing in fact nothing was going to make her care in this world, and If there's a next, she wouldn't even beat an eyes“That nonsense you did back there you thought was funny, what if everyone believed you?” “Why wouldn't they believe me, none of it was a lie” Aella shruggedAella scater so many months still wondered why Damien's lying capability still shook her,,.“Why does he l
