That day, Aurora had agreed to dine with Heath. She arrived early at Heath’s placeand waited for him, flipping through scripts on the couch.

Upon his arrival, Heath asked, “What would you like to eat?” to which Aurora wrapped herself tighter in her blanket and suggested hotpot, craving it in winter.

During the meal, Aurora mentioned that Madeline had recently visited Philadelphia, likely to see Sophia.

Heath paused, then revealed, “She didn’t visit Sophia.”

Surprised, Aurora asked, “How do you know?”

Heath explained, “Kieran has been monitoring Sophia, guarding against her seeking revenge. Since leaving the country, no one has visited her.”

Stunned, Aurora recalled seeing Madeline act sneakily at a hotel, a matter she hadn’t pursued after moving to the capital. Now, it seemed there was more to investigate.

“Heath?” Aurora called out.

Heath looked up. “Hmm?”

“Do you think... Madeline could be cheating on my dad?” Aurora playfully bit her spoon, smiling.

Heath looked at her, resigned. “
