Apologize

Alaric was left standing in front of a closed door, feeling a bit dejected. Vespera’s expression had been clear—she was angry, really angry, and maybe even disappointed. If she was truly in love with Quinn, she should be happy to be rid of him. So, why was she so upset?

Alaric realized this was more complicated than he initially thought. Maybe his mother was right—this whole mess was actually his fault.

Now that Vespera had firmly decided not to see him, there wasn’t much he could do. He headed downstairs, his face aching. During the scuffle with Quinn, he hadn’t been paying attention and got scratched. He figured he'd better head to Lysander for some first aid.

When Alaric arrived at the hospital, Lysander was stunned. “Whoa, Alaric! Did you try to steal a landmine?”

Alaric rolled his eyes.

Lysander brought over the disinfectant, laughing as he asked, “Seriously though, who did you get into a fight with?”

“Quinn,” Alaric muttered through gritted teeth.
