Chapter 18

Alexander's POV

Immediately Layla left the study this morning, I picked my phone and called one of the bodyguards.

"Lucas, keep an eye on Layla. Don't let her know you are following her and Don't let any harm come to her, and also keep me updated. Do you hear me?" I instructed.

"Yes, sir!" Lucas responded promptly.

After I hung the call, I slammed my head on the table, breathing a sigh. "I can't believe I am still bothered about her safety." I muttered to myself.

"I tried to focus on my work, but my mind kept drifting back to Layla. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake her from my thoughts. Her face seemed to appear everywhere I looked. "I'm going crazy!" I exclaimed in frustration.

I headed downstairs to clear my head with a drink, but my phone buzzed with an urgent call from Lucas. "Boss, your wife is in danger," he warned, his voice low and serious.

"Text me the location." I removed, hanging up the call.
