Lana pov

We need to keep going. I can't understand why he's tailing us; it's insane, especially since I can barely manage the steering. The driver is speeding as if there's a strict rule against driving slowly.

"Lana, he must pull over," Caroline insisted, jabbing my shoulder forcefully. "Why should we stop? I'm not behind the wheel, and we have an assassin on our tail. Do you really value your life so little?”

An intense rush of adrenaline surged through me as I shot back, "Certainly, I cherish my life, but I refuse to let a lunatic control our every action. We need to shake him off, not pause for a leisurely chat."

Her expression was filled with dread. “Lana, please. He's not going to kill us!”

I tightened my grip on the seat, my knuckles turning pale. "Not if I can prevent it."

The taxi careened around a corner, slamming us against the door. The driver shouted, hang on, “ladies! I have a plan.”
