Chapter Fifty-Three: Call Aunt Serena

Jesse’s POV

I stood outside Tamara's room. Tamara was staring blankly at the sterile white walls. Her words rechoed in my mind over and over, like a broken record: “We need to break up” I never thought I’d hear those words from her, I wonder just how many words Christina said to her. The fatigue weighed heavily on my shoulders, and for the first time in a long while, I felt lost, unsure of what to do next.

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration, pacing the hallway. How did things spiral out of control so fast?I Know she went through all this because of me and I want to fix things. I am really ready to deal with Christina and whoever the other girl is. But now, Tamara wanted to leave. She wanted to break us.

“No, I can’t let that happen”

I pulled out my phone, my fingers shaking as I dialed Trevor’s number. He picked up on the second ring.

"Jesse?" Trevor’s voice sounded alert. "How’s she doing?"
