Elizabeth's POV

"Jimena, come clear the table. I'm done," I called, standing up from the dining table and hoping she had heard me.

Jimena rushed out of the kitchen and bowed. "I'm sorry, Miss. Goméz. I was_"

"It's Miss. Rodriguez to you now," I corrected, cutting her off.

"I'm sorry, Miss Go... I mean, Miss. Rodriguez," Jimena apologized. "I'll clear the table. Do you need anything?"

"Good, because I'm leaving right now," I revealed, dropping a wad of Pesos on the table. "Get more groceries. I'm sure we'll be needing them."

"Yes, madam. I was going to ask," Jimena replied, smiling.

I watched her carefully do her job for a minute before walking towards the stairs. I hopped on the stairs and got to my room, pushing the door gently.

I had paid a brief visit to my lawyer immediately after I visited the prison. Javier was skeptical about it, but it wasn't his business. He didn't even try to stop me, which filled me with a quiet sense of satisfaction.
