Adrian's POV

"Mom, do you still want to go shopping? We could go to the company's mall," I suggested, watching the facial expression of the woman sitting right next to me in the car.

She had been silent since we left the boutique. Her indifferent look made it impossible for me to tell if she was upset or angry.

She tilted her head slowly. "I'm fine. I'll continue with that another day."

"The company's mall? How come we never thought of that?" Miguel, sitting in the passenger seat with the driver, asked.

"It's simple. Mom doesn't like the special treatment she receives from the staff there," I replied, giving my mother a knowing look.

Her dislike for attention had partly been the cause of the mall incident.

"Can you both please stop talking about it? It's annoying," my mom complained, frowning.

"Okay, ma'am," Miguel and I responded in unison.
