“Yeah, she's," he said again, not even giving a second glance to the fidgety man.

"Alright, I'm leaving her in your care now, Mr. Principal. And hey, make sure your students don't go snooping around my stuff," he said, a hint of warning in his tone.

"Yeah, sure, I'll make damn sure nothing and nobody messes with her," he said, wiping his sweaty hands before extending them for a handshake.

Seeing Marcus hesitate to shake those sweaty hands, I decided to save the principal some embarrassment.

I stepped in, took his hands, and gave them a quick shake before letting go.

"Well, I'm outta here, Nicole," he said, planting a kiss on my lips and then turning around. His eyes scanned the crowd with a hint of intimidation.

His hand grazed my neck, his fingers brushing against the hickeys.

His intentions were pretty damn obvious - he was marking his territory for everyone to see.
