Chapter Four— My Ex Wife??
Surely she wasn’t Gianna. Gianna had blonde hair, shiny blonde hair that gave her the name ‘Golden Tulip’ when she was a teen, she would always talk about how she was teased about it, and he always told her she was better as a blonde anyway. The woman seated right across from him was definitely not blonde. She had black hair, long and luscious dark hair that reached her waist, a feature he wouldn’t mark for his ex wife who always had her hair in a tight bun, claiming she didn’t enjoy the attention it brought . Certainly this woman wasn’t Gianna, he thought once again as he finally took a seat. Gianna maintained an outwardly calm demeanor, chin tilted up shoulders snug with enough grace and poise. Deep down she was in a state of panic, seeing him again…the man who turned her life upside down, made her family go bankrupt and topped it off with a completely blindsided divorce—he was seated right across from her. She felt her legs go numb and her phalanges about to fidget, luckily Aiden was by her side, and one hand on her thigh showing his support soothed her nerves momentarily. Of course he was the secret investor, she should’ve seen it sooner ,but was so blinded by her thirst for success that it never crossed her mind. She totally underestimated her ex husband, a mistake she was about to pay dearly for. “Is this meeting adjourned or…” one of the board members finally spoke up, breaking the tension that roamed about in the air. Everyone could feel it, the impending doom that was about to happen. It was like being in the midst of a den of lions about to devour a prey. “There is no meeting.” Gianna finally answered and finally looked at Justin, “Unfortunately you’re not welcome here Mr Santiago.” He heard the voice, the silky and titillating sound that used to drive him crazy during the nights of passion—now deeper, richer with a more stern undertone that exuded authority. He almost gasped, finally seeing her eyes—there was only one woman who had brown eyes with a beautiful golden hue around it. This was definitely Gianna!! “I’m not welcome?” He finally found his words, this was still business after all, “I just invested a huge sum into this company Mrs….??” “It’s Miss Lawson to you sir.” Ah—Lawson, he thought once again. She’d gone back to taking her maiden name, why didn’t he think of it sooner?? That LAWSON CORP was owned by his ex wife’s family??? They disappeared three years ago, he was sure of the fact after he had someone tail them right after the divorce. The bank forclosed the Lawson Villa according to reports and they moved to an unknown state, despite his attempts to figure out their whereabouts….they just vanished. Seeing Gianna again brought back the twinge he felt in his heart, still there was a moment of doubt as she could be a doppelgänger of the sort. The name Lawson was common after all, she could me married to a— who was he kidding?? He rolled his eyes surreptitiously, surely the woman seated right across the glass table was his wife!! “Fine. Miss Lawson. I invested a huge sum into— “I’ll have my legal and financial team draft out an agreement. Your ‘investment’ as you call it will be returned duly, and in full.” She said curtly, taking the words right out of his mouth. Who was this woman?? Surely wasn’t the same Gianna he was married to three years ago. She was cold and unwavering, devoid of any warmth—most of all, she was confident. Gianna was a shy and timid housewife, she definitely wasn’t one who could handle meetings in the midst of powerful men. “Gianna don’t be— “It’s Miss Lawson to you sir,” The random man he wasn’t paying heed to suddenly chipped in. Justin didn’t like that, “We think it’s time you leave the premises.” He turned to Aiden sharply, “Who are you again?” “That is of no concern to you Mr Santiago,” Gianna muttered, her voice still icy, “Please leave the premises, unless you would like to be escorted out.” He wanted to stay put. He yearned for answers, he needed the perfect confirmation that this woman seated across was his ex wife…his ever loving Gianna, he needed to know the truth. “I need to speak to the CEO.” Crossing his arms, he rested. He wasn’t leaving any time soon, not when he had inquisitions that needed to be filled with answers. Gianna stared blank faced, for the first time she felt like she had the upper hand and rose to her feet, “You’re talking to her. Please leave Mr Santiago, or I’ll have you moved myself.” He was gobsmacked, seeing his face go pale for a second brought Gianna a short satisfaction that soothe the ache she felt in her heart. Justin was unable to fathom it, the truth laid right in front of his eyes that his wife—ex wife, the woman he sent packing years ago after their brutal divorce was the CEO!! The CEO of the company which had grown to be his biggest competitor yet!!Chapter Five-The Billionaire is a stalker It didn’t take a load of pondering to see reason as to why he wasn’t welcome at LAWSON CORP, gracefully he walked out of the meeting room and out of the building—fuming? Not so much. He was rattled, dazed as a plethora of emotions coursed through him all at once. This wasn’t over, he thought to himself as he found his way into his jeep, slamming the door hard behind him and making his driver who was taking a short nap jolt upright. He ought to fire him soon. “Where— “Just drive.” He answered dismissively. Gianna watched intently as the black jeep drove up, her hands dropped from her chest in relief seeing him gone and she could finally breathe. Seeing Justin once again, for the first time in three years sure did wring up a lot of emotions, the sameemotions she swore to keep in her Pandora’s box…hidden away from the rest of the world to see. He had changed over the years she couldn’t deny, a shadow of
Chapter One-How it all Began Justin Santiago was in the middle of a meeting with an investor when the door to his office suddenly barged open, storming in, in a fit of rage was his wife Gianna, with a crumpled piece of document in her hands. Her eyes were like duffel bags and red from all the crying, she raised the document up pointing at him and ready to unleash her wrath….unfortunately the words were unable to come out as she was too heartbroken to even process it all. He sighed deeply, turning to his investor, “Can we have this meeting adjourned. I have some petty squabble to take care of.” Squabble?? Her mouth went agape with shock and disdain. Three years of her life she dedicated to Justin Santiago!! Three years of believing in his dreams, and now he decided to pay her back in such a disdainful way? The investor left the office, awkwardly evading eye contact with the woman so as to avoid her wrath. Justin sighed deeply as he turned to look at
Chapter Two—Miserable, miserable CEO THREE YEARS LATER…. “I need to know who this is!!!” He yelled at the top of his lungs, barging through the glass doors as he yelled at the company of workers from their respective cubicles, “I need to know who’s responsible for putting profits down by ten percent!!” Gina Rodriguez rolled her eyes surreptitiously as she turned to whisper to her colleague, ignoring her boss’s usual tirade, “With the way he’s going you’d think we’re about to file for bankruptcy…sheeesh.” “No wonder his wife left him.” Her colleague responded as she chuckled softly. Unfortunately, her jabbing words managed to reach the ears of her boss who walked up to her cubicle. “What did you say??” Stuttering shamelessly as she managed to get to her feet, “I…I…I said…” With his anger reaching a new peat by the minute he asked again, “Repeat what you said to the rest of the office Mrs….” “Manson…” She gulped hard feeling a lump
Chapter Three— The secret Investor Justin returned to his apartment hours later. The floor to ceiling windows has a breathtaking view of the city line. The walls painted white reeked nothing short of silence. A lone piece of art hung above the beige sofa he never seemed to sit on for some reason, further depicting his overall sense of detachment. It was his bachelor pad—he called it. The minimalist aesthetic from the single coffee table to the massively wall mounted television, devoid of any warmth or personal touch. He strode towards the kitchen, which even though ‘state of the art’ was equally uninviting, reached for the wine cabinet and grabbed himself a Mǒet Chandon. He poured himself a glass full, usually more than the required amount but he’d had a long day at work. The board was pissed at him, he had a flat tire and to make matters worse….his private investigator was unable to find this secret CEO. How can one person causing him so much trouble??
