Thirty-seven

The next day, Tristan instructed the bodyguards.

“Your duty is to stand guard here and keep watch. If I'm not around, nobody else comes in or go out unless you receive confirmation from me first. Is that clear?”

“Yes Sir!” they chorused as they left to assume their posts.

Few minutes later, Ivy called Tristan. He reluctantly answered the call.

“Yes?”

“I heard what happened, I'm so sorry about it. Is she okay though?”

He weighed the options of telling her or not telling her. He suspected that Annabelle had to have had some sort of help from someone. Someone who was probably hiding her now.

It's been two days and still no news about her had reached him.

Even though he didn't want to believe Ivy could be helping Annabelle, he knew her all too well. She did tell him that she doesn't consider Angela her friend anyway.

He desperately wanted to believe that Ivy was not involved in this but he just couldn't shake the feeling.
