Tristan watched the lady from his window, she hailed a cab and left. He told her he would make her pay, she had dared to hit him, in public for that matter, he’ll make sure to put her in her place. Who the hell was she, he was Tristan Perry, billionaire, son of Travis Perry, no one not even his own father had hit him in his life and this lady, a criminal, a commoner from the gutter dared to breathe the same air with him and even worse, hit him? He would make sure that this would be the first and last time she’ll ever try it.
He got his private detective do a little research on her and that’s how he was able to get his hands on the video, he has more details about her that he won’t yet reveal to her, he’ll wait for another perfect opportunity to present itself again, then he’ll use it on her. His phone rang and he picked it up. It was his detective
“Talk to me Sean”
“Sir, there’s something else you should know about miss Cameron”
“Okay? I’m listening….”

Angela’s POV
How did I get myself into this mess, this has got to be the worst thing that’s ever happened to me and bad things happen to me a lot.
++++++++++
I walked into the store ‘grandiosa y hermosa’ a very beautiful and expensive store, it was known to sell only the most exquisite and beautiful items, the clothes there were designers, the shoes were simply to die for and not just anyone could shop here.
The cheapest thing in the store ranges from three hundred dollars and I didn’t have such money with me, I just thought I’d look around a bit and try on some beautiful shoes. I went to the shoes aisle, I needed to get a new pair of shoes fast before Monday, I had a job interview to attend and I didn’t have any nice shoes or clothes to wear, I usually shop at a thrift store and I’ve already gotten a really nice outfit but I was unable to get good shoes.
I honestly don’t know why I came to this store to buy shoes, everything here is crazily expensive and I could see some shoppers giving me weird looks but who cares.
I saw bunch of beautiful shoes but most of them were too expensive, ugly, or not my size. After checking out several shoes, I finally found the perfect one, it was a black diamond studded heel, it was perfect. I just needed to check if it was my perfect size.
I tried it on and it fitted perfectly, just as I was admiring myself, someone bumped into me hard making me fall and break the heel.
I stood up and turned furiously to the person who bumped into me. It was a man with the most arrogant look ever, he didn’t even look sorry, he just stared at me and shrugged. He was about to turn away when I shoved him around angrily.
“Hey, what are you? Blind or stupid? You bumped into me and you’re leaving like nothing happened? Are you crazy or something?” The man looked shocked for a second and then pissed
“How dare you touch me? Do you know who I am?” He roared
“Oh I’m sorry your royal highness, I didn’t realize that your skin was made of gold”
“You insolent peasant…..” I delivered a tight slap to his face and he looked more furious and shocked
“Who the hell do you think you are? God? You walk around arrogantly and act like you own the place….”
Suddenly two employees came rushing in, one had red hair and she was tall and slender, she had a mean girl look and vibes, the other lady who looked like she just started working here was a young smallish brunette.
They both addressed the man with respect which seems crazy because he was a very young man, even though he looked very important. One of them, the redhead, spoke to me “What’s going on here?” She demanded harshly
“We heard a loud noise” the other lady said
“This lady, this peasant slapped me!” The man said angrily and both of them looked shocked. The redhead turned to me again
“You did what? Who are you anyways? Do you know who he is?” Then she turned to the man “I’m terribly sorry about this Mr Perry, I promise this won’t happen again…”
“It better not, people like her will ruin this store’s reputation” he turned to leave but then stopped abruptly and turned to me “you’re going to pay for this” he said and then left.
The two ladies turned to me and they looked livid “you’re gonna have to pay for that” the redhead lady said while pointing to the broken heel on the floor
“How much is it?” I asked
“Three hundred and fifty dollars” the second lady said casually
“What? Three hundred and fifty? but you didn’t give me a chance to even explain myself, he bumped into me, if anything, he should be the one paying for it, not me”
“Do I look like I care? Listen to me, you either pay for the shoe you ruined or I’ll have you arrested”
“Arrested? But it’s not my fault…. I didn’t ruin it on purpose…. It’s his…..”
“Oh I see how it’s gonna go, Clara, call security and have them hold this lady down until I call the cops” the other lady ran to call security while the redhead stood looking me up and down
“I know your type, you walk into expensive stores, start trying on things you can’t afford, take pictures of yourself and post it all over social media so people think you’re rich not knowing you’re just a filthy lowlife with no money and judging from your appearance, you probably don’t have a job either” tears welled up in my eyes at the lady’s harsh words
“You can’t stand there and judge me, do you have any idea…”
“Oh please, save the waterworks, nobody cares about your life or your sob story.” She smirked as a security guard approached us “I’ll make sure you never have the guts to show your face in public again, you’re gonna regret the day you stepped foot in grandiosa y hermosa” she said
“Mark? Please escort this lady to the counter and see to it that she remains there until the cops get here”
“Yes ma’am” the security guard replied and gripped my arm firmly “this way ma’am” he said and I followed him silently with my head bowed in shame as shoppers turned to stare and whisper.
I must have been waiting at the counter for what feels like forever but in reality, I’ve only been there for five minutes when a phone corner rang and Clara went to pick it up, she spoke into the receiver for a while and then called the redhead whom I just discovered that her name was Stacey “Stacey, it’s for you” Clara called and Stacey walked up to the phone and placed the receiver in her ear
“hello?….oh hi sir…..yes sir….absolutely…..excuse me?….seriously?….um, okay…” she glared at me before whispering into the receiver even though I could still hear her “three hundred and fifty dollars sir…..okay sir, I’ll do that….thank you sir” she slammed the receiver down and walked back to me
“Well, aren’t you a lucky bitch, Mr Perry just agreed to pay for you, guess you’re not going to jail today but that doesn’t mean you’re welcome back at this store, in fact, I’m banning you from this store, you are not to step even one foot close to this store, do you understand me?” She asked and I nodded slowly feeling dazed, embarrassed, slightly relieved and a bit shaken. She called the security guard
“Mark, see to it that this lady never returns here, she’s banned” Mark nodded and escorted me out.
I drove back home in tears, the humiliation was too much. But who was that man, I wondered. I had a feeling my whole life was about to change

THREE MONTHS LATERShe stared at her reflection in the mirror, and a satisfied smile crept up her lips.Today was the most important day of her life. Her wedding day!She closed her eyes and let her mind drift to the day Tristan proposed to her two months ago.***************It was another cold day, as usual. It was a work day, but instead of going to work, Tristan had insisted they go to the same restaurant they went on her first day of working with him, and that they bring Zoe.She didn't understand why Tristan would choose to go to a restaurant instead of work and what was even more strange was that he insisted that he wanted to drive. He usually lets his driver do the driving, so she found it strange. After making sure that Zoe was seated and buckled in with the seatbelt, she sat in the passengers seat in front and Tristan got behind the wheel. As he adjusted the rear-view mirror, he winked at Zoe, who giggled and bounced happily in the back, the entire ride. All efforts to calm
“I'm telling you, Tristan, it's that bad.”She said to Tristan over Facetime. He had called her by eight pm New Zealand Standard Time and she was telling him how things were with Zoe.She couldn't bring herself to sleep on the mattress, so, after tucking Zoe in and making sure she was asleep, she went to the living room and lay on the couch instead. “And get this, turns out she's been living here using my name.”“Are you serious?” He asked, the shock on his face mirroring hers.“I am. Her neighbour called me Angela, and I found these fake documents and ID's inside the kitchen closet. It all had my name. None of it has her name. It's creepy.”“So, her daughter doesn't know her real name either?”“She doesn't. Apparently, she's been living a lie for seven years. As crazy as it is, it did give me an idea.” She replied with a faraway look in her eyes.“What idea?” Tristan asked with raised eyebrows. She smiled at him as she answered, “You know how she told me not to ever let her daught
The twenty-one-hour flight took it’s toll on her. Even though there had been two stops along the way, she was exhausted and sick by the time she got to New Zealand. She had also bought some things for Zoe as a way to earn her trust.Tristan called to check on her three times, and he sounded better. At least that's an improvement. She stopped a taxi and gave the driver the address Annabelle gave her. It was almost an hour drive from the airport and along the way, she kept wondering what she would tell Zoe. Where would she say her mother was? And how would she explain that she was her aunt? Because she was pretty sure Annabelle never mentioned her to Zoe.She was so lost in thought, she didn't realize they were already at her destination. The driver had to honk the car horn to snap her out of her thoughts.“We're here.” He announced after getting her attention.“Oh. Thank you.” She answered as she paid him. He helped her offload her luggage and then, he drove off.Angela stared at the
Tristan, Taylor and Angela arrived at the hospital to find a panic-stricken, worn out Tessa, pacing around. Her arm was bandaged too.“What happened? Where's mum?” Tristan asked, trying to rush into the emergency ward, but was stopped by Tessa.“Tristan, you can't go in there yet. Please, calm down.”“What exactly happened, Tessa?” Angela asked.“Yeah, how did she get shot.” Taylor added.“She went to confront Amy and we were on our way back when our car was ambushed and some men wearing masks surrounded us. They killed the driver and shot mum in the chest through the windscreen. They shot at me too, but it missed narrowly, and my arm got hit instead. They took off immediately and that's when I called the ambulance.”“How is she? Will she make it?” Tristan asked with wide-eyes. Tessa looked dismayed as she averted her gaze. Tristan was about to say something when Tessa's husband Connor came rushing in.“Honey,” he exclaimed as he rushed towards her. He hugged her, then he examined he
The car came to a halt in front of the Perry's grand mansion. Marie stepped out first, not waiting for the driver to open the door for them. Her eyes was red and her complexion was pale. She stormed out of the car and marched furiously inside the house, ignoring her children completely.“Mum, are you okay? What happened?” Tessa asked, trying to block her path. But, one glare from Marie, made her move. She rushed towards Tristan, who was being helped out of the car by Angela and Alan.“What's wrong with mum? She looks ready to murder someone.” She asked Tristan, who exchanged a glance with Angela.“What does that look mean? What's happening?” She asked in alarm.“Is father home?” Tristan asked.“Yeah, but that doesn't answer my question. Why is mum so furious?” She asked again, visibly frustrated that no one was answering her question.“Where is he?” Tristan asked again.“In his study. For God's sake, why isn't anyone answering the damn question? What happened to mum?” she yelled.Just
