It was ironic that a slap started this whole thing and now it seems like a slap would end it, but he wasn't about to give up.

“I said, get out!” she screamed, interrupting his thoughts.

“Angela, aren't you going to listen to my…”

“Your what? Explanation? I'm not interested in hearing anything that comes out of your mouth, I just want you out of my house right now!”

He stared at her angry face with an ache in his heart. She believed everything she heard and there’s nothing he could say to convince her it wasn’t true. Why would Ivy call him to say such.

Unless… Ivy knew. Slowly, the pieces of the puzzle began to form in his mind. Ivy! Of course. How did he not realize that this was her plan all along.

He recollected how she had ‘innocently’ tried to come between them, how she somehow always knew the right time to call and the right thing to say.

How could he have been so stupid that he didn’t realize it sooner?
