Isabella stood in front of the woman who guided her yesterday to Dominic’s office.

She learned that her name was Anne, and that she has worked in the company more than half of her life which she highly commends, since it’s probably not easy to maintain such a high position here, which only means she must be really good at her job.

“That’s everything you have to know. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me or anyone, okay? And I really hope you last longer than his previous assistants,” Anne told her.

“Why? What happened before that made them quit?” Isabella couldn’t help but ask. She’s still wary about everything, and hearing her talk like that made her restless heart even more restless.

“Well, to tell you the truth…” Anne stopped for a moment and looked around, making sure that no one was eavesdropping on them.

“Mr. Russo is a bit of a playboy before,”

“A little bit?”

Anne laughed, “Well actually not a little, more like this much,” she said, spreading her arms, causing both of them to laugh.

“And what does that have to do with his assistants quitting their jobs?” Isabella asked, not following her.

“Because he hits in all of assistants that enters his office. And it’s rumored that once he is bored with them, he just kicks them out and hire a new one. And frankly speaking, the one before you, only lasted a week,” Anne told her the truth.

Isabella can’t process what she just heard. Is that the reason why she warned her before she entered Dominic’s office?

“Isn’t that illegal to do to?”

“It’s not illegal if they like it,”

Well she can’t deny that. But…he already has a fiancé. Though, based on what she saw yesterday it seems like they don’t really have a good relationship. It doesn’t even look like they’re in love.

“But hey, don’t think too much about what I said, It’s all just rumors, nothing has ever been proven, so you just do your best, and hopefully, you’ll last longer than the others,” Anne uttered, gently patting her shoulders before leaving her to herself.

Isabella watched as she walked away.

She faced the elevator and got in as it slowly lifted her to the top floor.

[Knock!Knock!] She knocked gently on the door, hearing no response she opened it and peaked inside, looking left and right to see if Dominic was around, but he wasn’t, and she felt relief, she’s still not ready to face him, or to be more precise, she doesn’t think she’ll be ever comfortable seeing him. But sigh, she needs to swallow her pride since the pay is extremely good.

“I wonder where he is,” she mumbled walking around his office.

She ended up on his table and noticed a frame that was facing down. Weird.

She got curious and lifted it, and she was fascinated by the picture that was displayed. It was a picture of a beautiful kind looking woman with honey blonde hair and blue eyes, and she was hugging a young boy who was laughing. They looked so happy together in the frame that she felt her heart flutter just looking at the photo.

‘Is this him and his mother when he was young?’ She thought.

“What are you doing?”

A loud voice suddenly boomed making her flinch in freight, accidentally letting go of the frame.

It created a loud crashing sound, and she immediately bent down to clean up the mess.

The glass shards were all over the floor, and she was about to clean them up bare handed when out of nowhere her wrist was caught by a strong grip as she was pulled up by Dominic.

“I’m really sorry I didn’t mean to…” she turned to Dominic to apologize but stopped mid sentence when she saw that he wasn’t wearing anything!

Ok, a little bit exaggerated, he’s in fact wearing a towel around his waist, but still! He was standing naked in front of her, and the only piece of fabric that is preventing her to see all his glory was the white towel that’s wrapped around him.

She could see the pulsating muscles in his arms and chest, the way the water slips from his hair and cascading down his cheeks, it was like looking at a walking greek god that just finished bathing.

“Ummm…uhhh…” she wanted to say something, but for some reason her tongue was tied and she can’t even utter a single word without stuttering.

“You don’t have to clean the mess, just call someone, or else you’ll hurt yourself,” he said with concern laced in his voice.

He stepped away, walking to the room connected to his office to get changed, but when he took a glance back at Isabella, she was still standing there, however her eyes were still stuck on him, or to say the least, she was looking at his body.

He grinned, “You’re drooling,”

Isabella quickly moved her gaze away, having been caught ogling his boss’s body, she cursed in her head, wanting to bury herself on the ground.

“Sorry, I’ll get someone to clean this right away sir,” she said, scrambling to the telephone to call someone to clean the mess she made.

Dominic chuckled at her quirky actions, and proceeded to get changed, feeling that his new assistant this time was both interesting and fun to look at.

Isabella sat quietly on her desk that was next to Dominic’s. She wasn’t given any particular task yet, so she have nothing better to do than stare at the wall in front of her. Dominic looked at her through his peripheral vision and noticed her rather bored look, and a mischievous idea suddenly ran to his mind. Heh, it’s not bad to take a little revenge for breaking his frame, right? “Do you mind, bringing this to the third floor, these are important documents that needs to be signed.” He gave her a stack of paper that was lying around. “All of these?” “Yes, is there a problem?” He asked with a dead expression, but deep down he was smiling whenever she feels rattled when he looks at her. “No-no, there’s nothing wrong sir. I’ll get it done right away,” she rambled, and swiftly carried the papers that piled up to reach her head, she walked to the door, but had trouble opening it since her hands were full. Dominic looking at her sorry state decided to lend her a little hand,

"What, really?! Are you thinking of quitting now cause I think you should." Isabella talked with Kara outside a cafe just a few blocks from her workplace. She told her everything, and as a friend, of course Kara became concerned for her. Since she's also the one who introduced her to the job. Dominic didn't show up in the morning since he had a meeting outside, and she was relieved at some point since she feels every time he's around, the air is always tense, as if someone is always watching her every move. Maybe she's overthinking things, but she can't help if that's how she really feels. Not to mention that she's working for the man she had sex with. Maybe the rumors are true about him. But then again, she can't judge a person based on rumors. "Sigh, I don't know. But I can't, I finally have a good paying job, I can't afford to lose this," Isabella sipped her coffee, tilting her head to the window to see the cars passing by. Dominic's steps echoed through the hall as he hastily walked to his office. He could hear laughter inside since the door was slightly open. When he reached the door, he immediately opened it without second thoughts stealing their attention. And what he saw made his blood boil. Cole was wiping the side of Isabella's face, and when Cole saw Dominic staring at his hand that was touching her cheek, he smirked, and that smirk didn't go unnoticed by Dominic. He strutted towards them with powerful steps, and seeing him act like that, his expression all black, Isabella's heart skipped a beat, feeling something bad was about to happen. Dominic, without saying anything, grabbed Isabella's wrist and pulled her behind him. He didn't know what was happening, but only one thing was running in his head, and that was to take Isabella away from him. He glared at his cousin, but Cole was unaffected by his attitude. He knew his cousin too well, and even if he was the boss here, he can't

After Cole left, the whole room was covered in a chill atmosphere. Neither Isabella nor Dominic tried to talk to each other. Isabella wanted to ask him about what Cole meant, she was curious who the girl Cole was referring to but felt like she’d be stepping over the line if she asks. Time flew fast and it was almost 8PM. Isabella stole glances at Dominic, she wanted to ask if it was okay for her to go ahead but it seems inappropriate that she leaves before her boss does. “You can go ahead,” Isabella darted her eyes towards Dominic’s direction, stunned. ‘Did he just read my mind?’ She thought. “I can tell you’re uncomfortable, I’m sorry for what happened earlier, you shouldn't have see that. Cole and I don’t really have the best relationship,” Dominic said, still gazing at her with unreadable emotions. “It’s okay,” it was all Isabella could say, not daring to look at him. “Then...ummm, I'll leave first, sir, goodnight!” Isabella hesitantly stood up. Days have passed after that unsettling interaction. Isabella could feel Dominic was distancing himself from her. All they ever talk about whenever they are in the office was the schedule of his meetings and if he needs her to run some errands. Aside from that, they mostly never talk to each other. That night, when Isabella asked who Thea was, Dominic seemed to realize what he just did, immediately letting go of her and leaving. She was left bewildered, and in the end she had no choice but to take a cab home. She could tell something was up, from his talk with Cole that afternoon, and the fact that he called her Cassy just proves it. Right now she was alone again inside his office, plotting schedules for him. It was the same routine every single day. While she was organizing some documents, the door suddenly opened and she stood up out of reflex thinking it was Dominic, but it ended up being the person she least expected to see. She can already feel a burning headache a

Fiona watched as Cole entered the office. He was smiling at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "What are you so happy about?" She barked at him, sitting down, massaging her temples. "You shouldn't let out your frustrations on her. You're better than that Fiona," Cole looked at her, his eyes softening as he ogled her face. "What is it to you?" "Come on, I'm trying to help you here. Do you really want to be some kind of villain?" Cole chuckled, sitting beside her, looking at her while batting his eye lashes. Fiona just gave him a blank face, her irritation rising at an intense peak. She raised her hand and stopped it mid air, her fingers wide open while she looked at Cole imagining crushing his face with her bare hands. "Ugh you're so annoying!" She clenched her teeth, stomping her feet on the ground. She got up and grabbed her purse angrily, walking to the door as she banged the door close. I feel like she's seeing another person whenever she talks to me. I massaged my temples, my head hurting from thinking too much and opened the door. I thought no one would be at the office, but unexpectedly he was already here. "Where have you been?" He turned to me, his eyes scanning me. "I'm sorry Sir, I just got back from the cafeteria. Is there anything you need me to do?" I asked, waiting for his response. A minute passed, and here I am still standing by the door since he still wasn't talking. His eyes remained latched on me and I was starting to feel uncomfortable, but thank God he averted his eyes and finally talked. "Nothing. I can't blame her though, there's something about Dominic that I can't just understand. "I don't know about that. You saw me applying for a lot of job, and this is the only company who hired me." "Well, yeah, that is part of my job description," I said, and I honestly cannot make up Kara's face anymore. Even a talented artist would have a hard time drawing the look on her face. In a blink of an eye. Two years have already passed after we left the country and settled in a small town where Hayden’s mother grew up.Hayden had to do his job at home since he doesn’t want to leave us alone. However, there are occasional trips where he had to go back for some important meetings and negotiations. You might think I left on impulse, but no. We didn’t leave immediately that night. I stayed home, and fulfilled my promise not my father to take care of him till the end. Thankfully he passed away without experiencing any pain. One night, while he was sleeping, he didn’t wake up. All that’s left was a letter in his nightstand. It seems he had already prepared everything. It’s as if he knew what was going to happen that night. He was clutching a frame in his chest that showed an image of him and my mom when they were younger. He had on a bright smile, and she was looking at him with so much affection. A whole week of being excused. “I can’t read any more of this concepts.” I buried my face on the mountains of books. “Shhh! No loud talking!” The librarian reprimanded making me flinch. I looked at the others and they seemed to be handling this exam weeks pretty calmly. “You shouldn’t have gone on a break for a week,” Aiden shook his head at me, silently laughing at my misery. I glared at him and stuck my tongue out. Tsk! He’s just jealous because he can’t freely blow off school. Not that I can, but…ugh! This exam is killing me!!! “Stop that Aiden. You’re scores were pretty much hanging in the last prelimination.” Asher said making me chuckle. Aiden quickly shut his mouth and drowned himself on his books. I l

The cool morning breeze wrapped itself around me as I stepped out of my car. The campus stretched ahead in all its usual chaos. Students hurried between buildings, their chatter blending into the hum of the bustling crowd. I wasn’t in a rush today though. Not that I wasn’t excited to be back, it’s just…I’m not really looking forward to anything. I figured I’d just go see Aiden since I’m too early for my first class anyway. I reached the gymnasium since I’m aware that the has practices in the morning. However, his team mates were already heading out. I asked one person and he said that Aiden was still in the locker room, showering. I figured I’d just wait for him here outside to finish. A few minutes passed and I heard his voice, however, he wasn’t alone. I was sitting on the bleacher near the wall so he didn’t see me as they both passed by. Who is that person he is talking? The cool night air brushed against my skin as Hayden and I stepped into the garden. The soft glow of lanterns hanging from the trees illuminated the pathway, casting flickering shadows on the ground. The sky stretched above us, a vast canvas adorned with a sea of stars. "Come on," I urged, tugging his hand. "I want to show you something."Hayden chuckled, following my lead. "You're being very secretive. Should I be worried?"I shot him a playful glare. "Just trust me."We stopped at a secluded patch of grass where the view of the sky was clearest. I spread a thick blanket I had brought earlier and gestured for him to sit. He raised a brow but complied, settling beside me as I lay on my back, staring up at the constellations."This was something my mom and I used to do," I said, my voice softer now. "Whenever I had a bad day or just needed to escape, she'd bring me out here, and we'd just watch the stars. She knew all the constellations, and she'd tell me their stories."Hayden's gaz
