“You agreed?” Hendrix's eyes glinted in excitement as he asked those questions to Margaux. Meanwhile, Margaux seemed to be in trance and just stared at him absentmindedly. “Margaux?” he called out, a little worried. The woman blinked several times and her eyes widened a little as though she was caught about something. “W-what is it?” she asked, still disoriented. Hendrix tilted his head. He stared at her curiously wondering if she just zoomed out on him. “What were you thinking just now?” he queried. “What? Nothing!” Margaux averted her quickly. His thick eyebrows raised as he stared at her rosy cheeks. It made him curious even more because she seemed to be blushing. “Tell me..” he coaxed. Margaux glared at him. “I said nothing! Do you really want me to agree about your favor or not?” she hissed. Hendrix twisted his lips. It was the main reason as to why he didn't like to be with any woman aside from his mother, of course. They were too complicated and it was so hard to figu
Hendrix couldn't move as he watched Margaux cry. His eyes were wide as saucers while his jaw dropped. “W-why are you crying?” he stuttered. Looking at her, he felt like his heart got ripped in half. His chest constricted and he realized it was more painful to see her like that. Meanwhile, Margaux blinked and quickly touched her face. A silent gasp escaped her lips as though she didn't realize she was already shedding tears. Hastily, she wiped her tears away and chuckled awkwardly. “Sorry, my legs are hurting. I'm not used to sitting like this so..” she excused. Hendrix stared at her silently for a long second before he finally stood up and took his luggage. Without a word, he placed the luggage beside her and offered his hand to her. “Sit here,” he said while tapping his luggage. Margaux stared at him in disbelief. She wanted to refuse and say she was okay, but since she used her legs as an excuse, she didn't protest and just accepted his hand and let him help her to stand up.
Hendrix let out an exasperated sigh. He didn’t expect that proving her that his feelings were genuine was a lot harder than he thought it would be.“I am telling my side of the story because I want you to know that I didn’t completely abandon you. I am saying these to you so you would stop thinking that I never cared. I cared, I truly am, Margaux. I was just naive and too guilty as well,” he said while shaking his head. Margaux stared at him blankly before she spoke again. “You were guilty? For what?” she asked.Hendrix lowered his head. He knew that if he wanted Margaux to trust him again, he had to be honest with her and confess every wrong that he did to her. However, it was not easy for him to admit the reason why he felt guilty because it's basically confessing that he onl;y used her for his gain. “The cat caught your tongue now?” Margaux said sarcastically. He drew a heavy breath. He could see that the woman’s attitude towards her quickly changed after saying that he checke
[Flashback for three years ago..]“How is she?" Hendrix asked Margaux's personal nurse he hired as soon as he saw her. “All her wounds are healing fast. And her bones are recuperating as well. It won't take a long time and she will be fully recovered,” the nurse answered. “How about..” he trailed off. He could say it as he felt his heart was being ripped whenever he remembered about it. “Since the screws have been removed, the Doctors were positive that she can walk again once her leg has fully healed from the operation,” the nurse smiled reassuringly. “There's really nothing to worry about her now. As you can see, she seems very enthusiastic as if she didn't get into an accident,” she happily stated. After talking with the nurse, Hendrix peek inside the VIP room where Margaux was admitted. But after seeing her peacefully sleeping, he decided to just stay outside so she won't be disturbed from her rest. The accident happened exactly five months ago. But it still seemed fresh as th
Margaux wasn't able to hold back her tears as soon as she heard Hendrix mentioned his promise three years ago.She thought he wouldn't remember as he only said it to coax her to marry him. She wiped her tears but it didn't end as she couldn't stop crying. “Don't cry..” Hendrix mumbled and soon she was pulled against his hard chest. “I was already attracted to you back then. I just couldn't admit it and not really get into it because work was more important to me more than anything else,” he continued. She shook her head, not wanting to listen to him anymore. However, the guy was unstoppable and really took the opportunity to say all the things he could possibly say while she was being trapped with him.“I just realized it all recently. I was even in denial and thought I was only worried about your safety when I learned that you were missing,” Hendrix continued. “Do you know I almost lost it when I couldn’t find you in the villa?” he shook his head violently as if he didn’t want to
Margaux’s anger was rising once again as she was reminded how hard she went through for tolerating it all. All the wounds became fresh and it was bleeding once again.“She is facing something right now, am I right?” she smirked. Her eyes darkened as she looked at him ruthlessly. “Have you ever wondered who was behind it?” Hendrix didn’t answer and just stared at her with a blank expression. She hated it because she wanted him to grovel just like what his mother did when she confronted her. Everything she did to her was still not enough. She suffered for three years in their hands, so it was just tight that they would suffer as well but thrice harder than she had. “I did it. I was the one who spread the news about her illness and all the rumors about her. And I am telling you now that I won't stop until I am satisfied,” she said menacingly. “And about you.. you will see,” she said meaningfully. Her heart was full of rage. She didn’t care if Hendrix would hate her or not. She would pre
Margaux shook her head and sighed in resignation. She suddenly felt exhausted and just didn't want to talk anymore. Sitting down, she lifted her head and looked up on him. “This is exhausting..” she said. It has a double meaning but she didn't care whether Hendrix will get it or not. She was already tired arguing with him; she just wanted to lay down and take a nap. “Are you hungry?" he queried. She wanted to shake her head to refuse everything that he was going to offer but she could feel her stomach grumbling since they didn't finish eating earlier. “I am,” she responded. Hendrix's lips curved a small smile and quickly stood straight. “Do you want to eat outside or let's just eat here?” he asked. She didn't want to go for two reasons. People will see her and will definitely recognize her and that's the last thing she wanted to happen. Second, she didn't have energy anymore. It got drained from arguing with him. “I don't want to go out,” she answered. “Okay. I'll just buy o
The corner of Hendrix's lips lifted as he stared at Margaux's flushed face. He didn't know that it was fun to tease her and looked so cute when her face was so red from embarrassment. Tightening his hold on the utensils, he suppressed himself from pinching her rosy cheeks. “You seemed very professional. Your pick-up lines sound so natural,” Margaux commented sarcastically after she finally recovered. Sensing her annoyance, Hendrix’s thick eyebrows knitted together while giving her a confused look, “What do you mean?” he queried. The woman scoffed which made him more confused.“Is that how you talk on a daily basis?" He didn't answer as he became more confused by her question. He stared at her in puzzlement while trying to figure out what she meant by that. ‘How does he talk on a daily basis? Should she ask that to his friends instead?’ He tilted his head. Meanwhile, Margaux took his silence as a yes. Slowly, the corner of her lips lifted upward while her eyes became ruthless as
