Chapter 1: The Betrayal

The company's hall ambience was a grand one with decorative lights illuminating the extravagant space, It was a legacy, my father's company left for me to uphold.

As I moved with expressionless face stirred with melancholy through the unfamiliar faces all gathered in polite clusters, celebrating and drinking to the collaboration with Laurent Jade's company.

I do not know who this man Laurent Jade is or what he looks like, since he doesn't even have the courtesy to attend the celebration nor the contractual meeting, Apparently, he is an extraordinaire billionaire Magnate with many businesses and he is too busy with "several businesses matters" and some of his workers can attend to this one.

Even I who had not been in my company for the past two years came to sign this contract because it was required of me, I have not been in my company for two years, Because I have been on a journey of trying to get pregnant, and every affairs of my company has been entrusted to my husband.

I literally just sign everything he asks of me, afterall he's my husband I trust him so much with everything, though of late there's been some changes about him, he barely spoke to me, he stopped sleeping in our matrimonial room seven months ago, and he complained about being uncomfortable even still I had the bed and the entire room decor changed, he prefers sleeping on the couch the littlest time he came home as he spends weeks outside our home and only came home ones in two weeks.

Of course I tried to have a conversation about this behavior, he always dismissed me and reassure there wasn't anything wrong I did.

There could only be one logically reason I think; which was my inability to conceive for him after all these years, and I've tried my best in focusing full time on this issue even entrusting all my father's legacies to him as he asked, so I'd focus on getting pregnant.

But all to no avail.

I scrutinized the hall in hope of finding him, and luckily there he was in a group drinking and laughing with some investors, his arm possessively wrapped around a slender woman's waist, my heart pounded in my chest,

I swallowed the lump forming in my throat and forced my legs to move towards them.

"husband.." I called softly and to my shock the woman turned and it was Sandra my friend.

"Hi Dany, congratulations on your deal with the Laurent Jade's company that is huge! Laure...." Sandra was saying and her voice faded into a blur as my focus was locked on Derek.

"Can we talk Derek?" I asked, and he gave me the most disdainful glare I've ever seen, his hands still wrapped around Sandra's waist, whilst everyone's gaze was on us.

It was so embarrassing I couldn't deal,

"Dany, what are you still doing here? You've signed the deal; you should be home focusing on what really matters__ like curing your infertility."

Derek said bluntly and audibly whilst his face was unfeeling, and my legs froze to the spot as my worst fear unfolded in front of everyone, I have never felt so embarrassed as everyone quickly took their gaze away from us just to be polite.

But it was too late my humiliation was complete, I felt like a fool as my greatest insecurity pronounced bare for everyone to hear by my husband himself.

I quickly rushed as fast as my legs could carry me outside the hall straight to my car, my vision was blurry with tears and this time I didn't know where I was driving towards, I immediately pulled up at a 5 star hotel and rushed in, I swiped my card and was given a key to a vip room.

Where I let out my cries, If I had driven home in that condition I might just bash my car in a deadly accident.

Hours passed, and it was already night, I woke up and checked my phone it was 11 at night, I quickly checked out of the hotel and drove home.

I came out of my car and walked into the living room to meet my mother-in-law, Lady Donna and my brother-in-law Jeffery discussing whilst oblivion of my presence.

" I wonder where she is right now, I hope she dies in a ghastly accident, she is just nothing but a useless barren, occupying my son's house, fruitless and spending his money lavishly" She said as she drank,

"I wonder what took brother so long to make her know her place, they should divorce and be done with it."

This statement broke me, my legs weakened, I have always known from the start that they do not have a love for me, but hearing them say this was like a dagger pierced directly into my heart.

I just walked past their front, and they were silent all of a sudden I could see the shock in their faces, without uttering a word.

"Where were you, we were waiting ..." I walked upstairs leaving her asking her questions, and leaving them with the burden of whether I heard their discussion or not.

As I walked upstairs and some unholy sounds stopped me immediately, loud moans and the filthy sound of skin hitting skin coming from my matrimonial room, I rushed towards my room immediately.

And twisted the knob and the door opened, my eyes almost fell off its socket and I immediately couldn't breath after when I saw my husband Derek stark naked fucking my friend Sandra raw and fiercely.

My handbag fell from my hands and my high heels lost balance, hot tears blurred my vision and they soon find their way running down my cheek, as at the same time I felt excruciating pain torturing my chest.

"De...rek" I managed to call, whilst being choked with tears,

"What?" he asked with a smirk as he continued fucking Sandra whilst she continued moaning so loudly like I didn't just caught them.

"What? You are cheating on me!"

"Where? I am not" Derek replied sarcastically as he thrusted faster whilst choking Sandra tightly, my legs weakened I couldn't move, as they both came and burst into a cacophony of laughter.

Sandra was now leaning on Derek's chest on the bed as he grabs her ass, "What? Your royal barrenness, I wasn't cheating on you.. with who? Where? When" he mocked and they both bursted into another hysterical laughter.

"Do you think Derek would keep up with your barrenness Dany?" Sandra said, with great rage I felt like hitting Sandra head with an hammer, but I had no strength left in me they both betrayed me, I trusted them I couldn't believe it.

"You betrayed me..." I said, my voice hoarse, I turned and walked out of the room, my legs were too weak until I slumped and cried hard.
