Her decision

"What?" Tessa asked in surprise as her eyebrows pressed together.

"I think you should resign." Henry replied in a serious tone as he stared hard at her with a look of disgust.

"This is a joke?" Tessa chuckled as she walked towards the door. He couldn't possibly be serious, she thought.

Even if they were getting a divorce he shouldn't take her position of the CEO of the company she had worked so hard for.

"I'll sign the divorce but I don't think I will step down after I have worked to build that company to that point after so many years," she said with anger laced in her voice.

"I just found out that you never planned to give me a child all these years because you are only after my money!" He said with gritted teeth.

When she married him, she helped build a fortune in Henry's company and after a year of hardwork with her exceptional skills she transformed the company from average to a Billion dollar company to the surprise of everyone causing Henry's love for her to increase.

In another year Henry made her the CEO of one of the branches of Damaco Companies and they had set up more business and branches becoming the second biggest company in Florida in two years!

She couldn't hold the outburst any longer. She was going to shout it in his face that she was pregnant for him. "I…I…" She began but he interrupted her.

"How many babies have you killed?" He interrupted her. Her eyebrows furrowed. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't act ignorant, I know about all you've been doing now." He frowned, firing her a fiery gaze.

"I found it, the birth control pills you've been taking. If that was not enough you once took an abortion pill, killing our baby! My baby!" He shouted leaving Tessa stunned.

She didn't understand what he was talking about. She had never taken any birth control pills or abortion pills. She wouldn't hurt a life not to talk of her own baby

"How could you be so cruel, Tessa." Elena said looking at Tessa with a disapproving expression but her lips curled into a smile.

She didn't know how it happened but the look on Elena's face behind Henry made Tessa suspect Elena. She felt something was up but couldn't place her hands around it.

Deep down in her heart she felt Elena had set everything up, it was her plan all along. But she was carrying his child now. She wondered what he would do if she said she was pregnant but she wasn't going to let him find out.

She wasn't going to watch her baby grow under this environment and watch another woman plot evil against her little baby. Elena was evil and If she could go to such an extent to get her husband what more could she not do.

"You're lucky to have me, Henry." Elena hugged Henry's back circling her hands around his waist.

"Yes I am. I'm happy I met you." He smiled. "Thanks to you I met my heart throb Tessa." He said looking at her with his eyes filled with hate, blinded with Elena's schemes.

"You should forgive her Henry, she probably didn't mean to do so. She was just after your money and wanted to do anything to have it, without making you happy." Elena said with a calm tone.

"You're so kind Elena." Henry ruffled her hair. He turned to Tessa staring hard at Elena. "Apologize Tessa and I'll consider forgiving." you he said

"You'll regret this Henry. You'll realize late and when you do I'll be gone." Tessa bit her lips. "Where do you think you are going to go? " Henry asked.

Elena had been thinking of ways to make Henry kick her out. She knew that he still loved her a little bit even with her schemes. The sole reason that she got closer to Tessa after their college was so that she will get close to her Billionaire husband, Henry.

She had only met him a few times but was Jealous when she found out that Tessa was going to get married to her crush for many years. She hated Tessa for so long, she felt she was more pretty and was jealous of her wealth.

She wanted Tessa to be under her, now today Tessa was reduced to nothing in front of her causing her to beam a smile.

"You just have to apologize to Tessa. You were so mean and evil to do those things. Although you always act like a saint." She said to Tessa.

"I don't have to apologize," Tessa said as she walked out on them. "Prepare the divorce and I'll sign it. I don't want any of your properties!" She said as she stormed out.

"Good morning, ma'am." Her secretary said as she stepped out of the elevator.

"Good morning, Christine. Get me breakfast and a cup of coffee." she said as she settled down in her office.

She had two days worth of work to take care of and as she sipped her coffee she tried to let go of all the worries that clouded her mind and concentrate on her work.

"Ma'am someone is here to see you," Her secretary knocked on the door. "I won't be taking visitors, I'm busy." She said,

"It's Mrs Smith." The secretary replied and Tessa looked up. "What was she here for?" She muttered under her breath.

"Let her in." Tessa said and after a few moments the door opened and a Middle aged woman walked in." She was Henry's mother and in the last few months she had never stopped to taunt her.

"Welcome ma'am." She swallowed hard as she watched her walk in wearing a frown.

"If it is about the divorce, I have agreed to sign the divorce." Tessa said but Mrs Smith scoffed.

"Why can't you just leave the position quietly? You want to do this the hard way right?" Mrs Smith frowned.

"You're worthless and of no use anymore. It will be best if you leave before I frustrate you and make you leave in shame." She before walking out.

She leaned back in her chair as many thoughts ran through her head. She was already disoriented and couldn't concentrate.

She looked all around her, she was going to miss this place. Memories filled her, turned in her chair and she stared at the view from the glass walls.

"I'll resign," Tessa muttered as she pulled out a pen and paper and wrote her resignation letter, signed her name and stormed out of the office. She decided to head back home and hand the letter to him.

She put on her jacket as she walked out of the office and as she closed the door with a sigh her secretary walked up to her.

"Ma'am are you leaving early? There is a lot of paperwork to work on and the foreign investors would be arriving in the afternoon," Her secretary Christine said bowing slightly.

"I have somewhere to go," she sighed.

"sorry ma'am it's just..." Christine continued but Tessa waved her hands, interrupting her.

"what? I'm in a hurry," Tessa said as she walked into the elevator.

Christine hesitated, concern etched on her face. "The team is counting on you for the meeting. Your presence is crucial," she implored.

"You can reschedule." Tessa said as the elevator door closed.

When she barged into her house, she stormed past the living room and there was no sign of Henry but she heard a simmering sound in her kitchen like someone was cooking.

She walked into the kitchen and looked around but there was no sign of anybody but when she turned to leave she saw Elena standing by the door.

"You dare use my kitchen?" Tessa yelled at her. "You're a wolf in sheep's clothing!"

"Call me whatever you want but he is mine," Elena let out a reel of laughter. "You've been kicked out already all thanks to me."

"Where is Henry?" Tessa asked, ignoring her taunts.

"Oh my husband, is in a meeting at the headquarters," Elena said as she strode past her.

"I was just specifically making dinner for him. You won't understand how it feels cooking for him because you can't cook." Elena let out another burst of laughter.

Tessa couldn't have her stand here and piss her off so she quickly stormed out of the kitchen and the house, heading to the headquarters where Henry had his office but when she arrived his secretary said he just left.

"Henry suddenly rushed out," She said when Tessa's phone rang and on the Caller ID display was Henry's name.

"Hello," she picked up the phone and Henry's cold voice sounded from the other end.

"Callaway hospital. Come here immediately." He said without any explanation, just ordering her like he always does.

"What's going on?" She asked with a bit of panic in her voice wondering what might be going on. Who was being admitted? she thought.

"Elena has been admitted, she was poisoned. Come here immediately." Henry said as he hung up.

"Elena was poisoned? How did this happen?" She raised her eyebrows in surprise.
