Chapter 2

Dawn's P.O.V

We both looked at each other, shocked "What are you doing here!? Are you stalking me!?" He suddenly shouted, rising up from his seat behind the huge table "I-I'm the new PA" I said and he froze mid-step "You what!?" He said.

"You're Dawn Berlitz!?" He almost shouted and I nodded quickly. "I can't believe this!" He said but I knew he was trying to control his temper.

He went back to his table, sat down and kept looking at me "Well are you going to stand there all day!? You're here to work aren't you!?" I nodded and quickly went near the table "Sit." He commanded and I felt my blood boil again "I'm not your dog!" I said and he looked at me coldly.

"If you were then you'd be listening to me! I'm your boss. You do as I say and I say sit." He said "Yes master" I whispered under my breath and he looked at me skeptically "What did you just say?" "Oh nothing" I said and gave him an innocent smile.

He carefully looked at me before moving back to his papers. He held out one to me so I took it from him "This is the list Amelia my previous PA left for you. and this" He handed me another paper "Is my schedule. You need to keep track of everything here. While working with me you'll see that even a millisecond counts. Understood?" He asked and I nodded.

"I do many trips abroad for business and would require you sometimes to go with me and when the time comes I want no fuss understood?" He asked again and I nodded "Good. You may go now" He said just as coldly and I went to the door. Just as I reached the door I heard call me "Yes?" I asked and he gave me a smile which chilled me to my bones "Welcome to hell."

It's been about 4 hours since I've started and within and hour I learned that this man, Ash. I finally got to know his name from the other staff members.

He's not human. He must be a robot. No one can do the amount of work he finished in half an hour. No one. I don't know how his old PA worked with him. 

This guy's absolutely nuts! I sighed and kept typing the report he wanted me to write for a certain document of his. My fingers ached from typing so much but I knew I couldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing me weak. I already knew that much.

I looked at the time and saw that it was lunch time for the staff members. I got up from my seat and stretched my muscles.

I let out a sigh of relief escape my mouth as I felt my muscles relax. I opened the door to my small office to see Ash standing there "Yes Mr. Ketchum?" I asked as he looked at me "Is the report complete Ms. Berlitz?" He asked "Almost" I replied "And where may you be going?" He asked again and I felt myself go on defense "Lunch" I replied and saw his face harden.

"You're not going anywhere till the reports complete understood?" He said "But-" I was cut off "No buts! That report is needed to be in my hands before the office hours finish and-" This time I cut him off "And you'll have it by then. You can't expect me to starve myself just for a sheet of paper!" I said and saw him glare at me.

"That sheet of paper is important for my next contract" He said and I glared at him "I'll only need 15 minutes for lunch. Surely the contract paper can wait till then" I said but he just stared at me "No. It cannot." He replied and left. The only thing I could do was stare at his back in disbelief. Reluctantly I went back into the office to complete the report.

I'm officially dying I thought at the clock struck 5. After the report was done I went to hand it to him and in return he handed me another report meaning I didn't get lunch today.

"Oh God" I whispered as I heard my stomach growl. I packed all my stuff and collected the second report. I went to Ash's office and knocked the door. After hearing 'Come in' I went inside and handed him the report.

"Here you go. Everything you told me to do today is done. Goodbye" I said and started leaving when I heard him call me again "Yes?" I asked him "You considering quitting yet?" He asked and then I finally got what all the work today was about. He wanted me to quit.

I just gave him a polite smile while on the inside I was killing him with every weapon I could think of "Not at all. Actually to be honest I just got started" I said and left the room.

I took the elevator again but before the doors closed a hand came in between and Ash stood in front of me "At least let me escort my new assistant back down" He said but I just rolled my eyes "Do whatever you like" I replied and stood at the corner of the elevator as Ash entered and the doors closed behind him.

My gaze fell upon the bruise I gave him. Normally I would say sorry when I did that to someone but I couldn't care less about giving him a bruise.

We stayed silent throughout the journey and when the elevators opened I almost ran out but forced myself to walk beside him. As we exited the building I saw a familiar car driving towards the building.

"Let me give you a ride home" Ash suddenly said and I shook my head smiling "No thanks. My rides here." I said as the car stopped in front of me and Lucas got out.

"DAWN!" He shouted "NICK!!" I shouted in return and ran towards him. I jumped in his arms and hugged him tightly "How was work?" He asked as I dropped to the ground but I kept hugging him "Horrible" I mumbled and heard him chuckle.

I heard a cough behind me and saw Ash looking at us with raised brows "And who might this be?" He asked and I glared at him "None of your business" I said and saw Nick chuckle again "Who are you?" Nick asked instead and I started tugging him away but he didn't move a muscle, instead he wrapped an arm around my waist.

"I'm Ash. Ashton Ketchum. Ms. Berlitz's boss" He replied coldly looking at Nick's arm around me "Oh hello. I'm Nick." "Nick can we please leave? I'm starving" I whispered in his ear "Yeah we should go. Nice meeting you Mr. Ketchum" Nick said and led me to the passenger side of the car, opening the door for me.

I could tell Nick knew something was wrong and I would tell him everything as we were on the way.

Nick said goodbye to Ash and got in the car before he started driving. After the first red light Nick asked "What happened?" I sighed "Remember last night I told you about the guy I met at the cemetery?" I asked and saw his eyes widen "Don't tell me. It was your boss wasn't it?" I sighed again and nodded.

"He kept me working the whole day in hope that I'd give up the job. He didn't even let me have lunch! That mans a lunatic I tell you!" Nick chuckled "How about I make your favorite food tonight hmm?" I squealed in joy and kissed his cheek "Thanks so much Nick!" I said "Don't thank me yet" He said and I looked at him confused but shrugged it off. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the head rest behind.

Not long after I heard Nick call me "Yes?" I asked and he pointed at something behind me. I turned around and my eyes widened. I got out of the car and heard Nick exit the car as well.

"You can't be serious" I said shocked "Oh but I am. You need to cheer up!" He said and I raised my eyebrow at him "Even after the last time?" I asked and he chuckled "Even after the last time" I squealed again and hugged him tightly "You're the best brother ever!" I said and I ran towards my personal heaven.
