Chapter 1

Dawn's P.O.V

"Bye Grandma. Wish me luck for tomorrow." I said goodbye and got up after placing the flowers I had bought for my Grandma on her gravestone. I always visited her when I was nervous or on my birthday which was today.

The clock had just struck 12 when I came here and both Nick and Vincent knew that when I was with my Grandma I didn't like being disturbed and I knew that they just had something planned for my birthday.

My Grandma and I were as close as two people could be from across the Atlantic ocean. I sighed and I thought about tomorrow.

I was a little nervous about it since its my first job and I've heard that the boss is absolutely ruthless in the boardroom.

I didn't get a chance to meet him at the interview since he was abroad on business and his previous PA had hired me.

I actually don't kn- ouch I thought as I felt myself bump into a hard chest. I lost my balance and fell on my butt. I saw a hand stretch out towards me and I grabbed it.

The stranger pulled me up but when he saw my face I barely heard him whisper "It can't be." I looked at the man standing in front of me and may I dare say he was absolutely gorgeous.

His hairs were black but I could see that they were brown from the roots. His chin had a cleft and his eyes were brown "I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." I apologized and saw that he kept staring at my face.

"Salvia...." He whispered again and I looked at him confused "I'm sorry but-" I stopped myself as I felt the stranger grab me and pull me in his arms. I was shocked at first then I started to pull away but his grip on me was strong "No! Salvia please stay!" He whispered "But my name isn't Salvia. It's-" I said as best I could with my face buried in his chest. 

I felt him stiffen and He pulled back obviously startled "You're not Salvia? Who the hell are you then!?" He suddenly screamed and I felt my blood boiling.

"Why do you care!? And shouldn't I be asking that question!? You just suddenly hugged me and suddenly started shouting at me!?" I screamed back and saw his face harden "I'll ask one more time.

Who are you!?" His voice was suddenly cold and I felt a shiver go down my spine but I kept my face void of emotion "I don't see you need to know. Now if you'll excuse me l have to go" I started moving around him but he caught my arm in a tight grip "I want an answer."

He insisted just as coldly and I grabbed his wrist, putting pressure on his wrist the way I learned in my karate class during high school. His face didn't show a hint of pain so I increased the pressure on his wrist "Let. Me. Go." I said keeping my voice cold. When he didn't I applied more pressure and then he suddenly let go. "Don't ever touch me again!" I screamed and ran away from him, back to my house.

"GUY'S I'M HOME" I screamed as I opened the door to my flat with the boys "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!!!" I heard two boys shout and a bark along with the greeting and suddenly two boys and a golden retriever came into view. I went up to them and hugged them both.

"Thanks guys!" I said and petted Lucy who was wagging her tail excitedly. "So how was the trip?" Vincent asked as I dropped myself on the couch "Don't ask." I said and saw them exchange a look "What happened Dee?" Nick asked as he sat near the couch and ran a hand through my hair. I usually hate it when people touch my hair but when Nick does it, it suddenly calms me down.

"I was on my way back when a guy and I bumped into each other and then he called me Salvia and he just hugged me out of nowhere!" "Wait a random stranger just hugged you like that?" Vincent asked and I nodded "That's not all. He kept calling me Salvia but when I told him my names not Salvia he started shouting at me! Can you believe it! The nerve of him!" I shouted into the armrest of the couch.

"Hey its okay Dee. Its not like you're going to meet him again. No point in wasting your birthday thinking about him and ruining your mood." Vincent said and I nodded "You're right. Lets party!!" I screamed getting excited but then I saw Nick shaking his head "No. Party later. You go sleep you have to go work tomorrow and I don't want you being late on your first day" I looked down at my feet and nodded "You're right. Goodnight boys!" I said and they both kissed me goodnight on the forehead. "C'mon Lucy" I said and headed to my room.

"ITS TIME TO GET UP!!!! DEE!!!!" I heard the boys shout as they jumped on my bed. Honestly you'd think after being 27 and 24 years old, they'd behave like adults.

"I'm up!" I screamed and they left the room "Get up lazy bones! First day at work!" They shouted as they left my room and I went to get ready. When I walked out of the shower I saw that Vincent had already picked an outfit out for me.

"THANKS VI!!" I shouted "YOUR WELCOME DEE!!" I heard his reply and chuckled. I'm surprised that our neighbors haven't complained about our shouts yet. I quickly got dressed and did my hair in a plain ponytail. I just put on a lip balm on and left. "I'm ready" I said as I went into the kitchen to see Nick preparing breakfast "We'll be dropping you off before we go to work so hurry" He said and I quickly finished my breakfast "Leggo" I said and we left.

"Woah how rich is your new boss?" Vincent asked as we neared the building "Apparently he's a billionaire from what his PA told me" I replied and we came to a stop "Bye boys!" I said and heard them say 'best of luck'.

I entered the building and felt the cool air hit me. I saw the reception area and went over there "Hello I'm Dawn Berlitz. I'm the new PA. Can you tell me where I could find my office?" I asked and the receptionist held up a perfectly painted finger.

She dialed someone and I heard someone bark over the phone "I'm sorry to disturb you sir but there is a Ms. Dawn Berlitz here. Yes that's what she told me. Yes Mr. Ketchum I'll send her right up." She hung up on the phone "Floor 32. When the elevator opens, you'll see a double door first go there to meet Mr. Ketchum. The room next door would be your office." She said and I thanked her.

I made my way to the elevator and pressed the number 32. I waited as I reached the floor and the elevator opened to show only two doors were there only one had double doors so I went there first and knocked.

After hearing a faint 'Come in' I opened the door and couldn't believe my eyes. I felt them widen and on the wrist I saw a purple bruise since he had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and winced. "Are you going to stand there or introduce yourself?" He asked, no barked without looking up from his papers and I opened my mouth to say my name but the only words that came out of my mouth were "You!" He suddenly looked up and I saw his face harden even more than before

"YOU!"
