Chapter Forty-Eight

I felt frozen in my own body as I watched my mate leave me, I could feel a hand on my shoulder as I saw her left. It felt as if my life was being taken away. The sky grew dark as I stared into the distance a while after she left. A pit of rage filled me and I stepped away from Patrice's hands.
I stalked inside and went inside the living room, and an awful pain struck my head. There it was, the pain of glass being struck against me. I finally came to my senses and touched my face.
When I pulled my hand away, there was blood on my fingertips. I didn't remember what happened before being hit. But I i know ill never forget the look on Vanessa's face.
Hurt. Betrayal. Regret.
I did that.
And I felt stupid for it as I yearned for my family, Patrice watched me closely and came up to me placing herself between my legs. I looked up at her and pushed her away.
