Sawyer Carter, was not the best worker there was. She was always late. She was always forgetting what she was supposed to be doing.
She was a bit scattered brained. Now here she was back in the unemployment office once more. For the third time that month.
"Sawyer, I can't keep coming up with jobs for you at the last moment" warns her friend Holly West as she looked up jobs on the computer.
"You know I have to have a job! Or I will lose my apartment! Then what I am going to tell Shelly? That we have to move again? I promised her we would not move again" begs Sawyer.
Being a single mother was tough. It was even harder when her ex-boyfriend got married and was having a new kid. When he did not want anything to do with the daughter he already had.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
"Look Sawyer, I am truly sorry. You know I love you and Shelly. I don't know how I am going to find you a job that you can keep. You are not getting good remarks to help me out" warns Holly.
" I swear the other day I was running late. Shelly was sick. I did not have a sitter" begs Sawyer.
"Let me take a look in the files and see if I can find anything. Maybe an office job is not what you need" mumbles Holly as her friend sticks her pencil behind her ear as she typed up something on her computer while they sat there in the unemployment office.
"What do you mean Holly? What do you think I will be good at?" asks Sawyer.
"Have you ever considered child care?" asks Holly.
"Like day care? Working with kids?" asks Sawyer. Holly nods. She removes her pencil from her ear. And jots down a number.
"Yes that is exactly what I mean" says Holly as she looks over her computer screen.
"No, I never really thought about it. I do take on baby-sitting jobs when I am off work. I need the money" Sawyer mumbles.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
She did not mind working with kids. She loved kids. She never expected to be a single mother this soon. But she was. Her daughter was only four years old. They had to move many times. Her daughter hated moving. She hated changing preschools to.
"I found a job for you. There is a desperate man in need of a nanny. Here is his name. His number. I can give you a few more jobs in that field" offers Holly as she hands over a number.
Sawyer looked over the name. Donovan Spencer. He needed a full time nanny. That sounded like it might work. He had one infant child. She could do that possibly.
"Sawyer Carter?" asks Holly breaking up Sawyer's thoughts.
"Sorry I was thinking that this job might work out for me after all" mumbles an excited Sawyer.
"Please don't make me have to find more jobs for you Sawyer. I have no clue you can get this job. Question is can you keep this job?" grumbles Holly.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Sawyer did not blame her friend for thinking the worst of her. She was not good at keeping jobs. Something was always coming or getting in her way. Maybe this time would be different.
"Who is this Donovan?" wonders Sawyer.
"He is a new father. His own father runs Spencer Enterprises. They are very well to do people around here" mentions Holly as she types up things on her computer.
"I think I have heard of them. They work alongside of G****e right? Something like that in computer software right?" asks Sawyer.
"I think so. Pretty much" says Holly. "Look if you want other numbers I can pull up something. But for now that is all I got"
"This will do just fine. I will go home and call Mr. Spencer tonight. See if I can get a job interview" Sawyer says happily.
"Good luck" sighs Holly.
"Thanks Holly. Really, for everything" Sawyer says to her friend. Holly looks up and flashes her pretty smile at last. She nods.
"No problem friend" Holly replies as she goes right back to work. Sawyer had to pick up her daughter from day care here pretty soon.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
So she had to make her call while she could. She gets her cell phone out of her purse as she heads out of the unemployment office. She dials Mr. Spencer's office.
"Hello, Spencer Enterprises. This is Kendra how I may help you?" questions a lady on the phone. Must be his personal secretary.
"Oh I am calling about the nanny job Mr. Spencer has open" Sawyer mutters nervously.
"Wonderful! I will buzz you through to him!" says the lady on the other line.
"Okay" Sawyer mutters as she waits.
She soon hears music while she waits on the other line. She wanders over to the hot dog stand to get some quick lunch before she had to pick up Shelly. She was starving. She did not have any time to get breakfast.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
"Two dollars and thirty cents" the man demands to her.
"But I only wanted one hot dog" grumbles Sawyer. That was pricy for one hot dog.
"Two dollars. You get a free beverage" he grumbles as he wipes mustard on his stained off white apron.
"Oh sure" says Sawyer as she rummages in her purse for one more dollar. She hands the man the money. She places mustard and other goodies on her hot dog.
"Relish is an extra fifty cents miss" the man demands to her after she places it on her hot dog.
"Oh fine" she grumbles out loud.
She hands him her change. He hands her a beverage without a lid on it. It was not even a diet cola. She heads over to the bench to eat her meal while she was on hold for this Mr. Spencer still.
She bites quickly into her hot dog after setting her drink down beside her on the bench. Classical music still played while she waited. She manages to get relish dripping down her shirt.
"Crap!" she groans. She did not get napkins from the stand.
"Excuse me?" someone on the other line says of course at that moment.
"Oh sorry. Hi" she laughs.
"Hi...um who is calling?" asks the man.
"I am calling about the nanny job? I got it from the unemployment office" she rambles on.
"I see. Oh yes great. What makes you right for the job?" he asks her.
"Are you Donovan Spencer?" she asks.
"I am. Who are you?" he ask her.
"Mr. Spencer, my name is Sawyer. Sawyer Carter. I am in need of a job. I am good with kids. I have one of my own. A daughter in fact. I will always be around if you need me..."
"Hold on a second Miss. Carter. Or is it Mrs.?" he asks her.
"Miss" she replies.
"Alright Miss. Carter. What makes you qualified to work with my son?" he wants to know.
"Well I never have worked in a day care. I just care for my own daughter. I have baby sat a lot. I really need this job Mr. Spencer. You will not regret it if you hire me. I promise" she begs him hopefully as she tries her best to get rid of the stain on her new shirt.
"Not exactly what I am looking for" he remarks. She had to get this job.
"Please give me a chance" she begs. "I really need this job"
"Come on in my office tomorrow. I will give you a proper interview then. How about that at least?" he offers.
"Oh that would be wonderful! You will not regret it Mr. Spencer" she says happily. He had to hire her. Maybe once he met her in person he might feel better about hiring her.
"Alright. How about meeting me here at the office about two in the afternoon?" he asks.
"See you then Mr. Spencer" she agrees.
"See you then Miss. Carter" he saysbefore they hang up. She had a feeling

"Mr. Spencer? Your apt is here now" buzzes in his secretary on his intercom. He yawns. He had another restless night with his child. He really needed one night of sleep. Just one. Was that to much to ask??"Send her in" says Donovan. He fought to keep his eyes open as he leans back in his chair. The sun poured into his office even though he tried hard to keep it out."Hello, Mr. Spencer. Thank you for meeting with me today! This really means the world to me" rambles on a lady as she opens the door to his office."Can you get those blinds? Close them in a little more for me please?" he demands to her as the sun began to bother his sensitive eyes. He covered his eyes with his hands."Oh sure I can. Not a problem" he hears her say. He hears her fixing the blinds."You look
Sawyer was running a bit late to work. She did not mean to. Well she never really meant to run late for any job she had. Just things happened to turn out that way for her. She did not own a car.She had to take a subway for everything. She dropped off her daughter at the day care center. Then she went off on her way to Donovan's part of town. She walked down to his driveway. There was a large gate in the front. She pushed her finger on the buzzer."Who is it? How may we help you?" some guard answers back right away."I am Miss. Carter. I am here to be Evan's new nanny" Sawyer replies back into the speaker.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥No reply back. Suddenly she hears a buzzing noise. The large steel gates p
Donovan managed to find the daycare center alright. He hated daycare centers. They were over run with little kids.He was not even sure what this Shelly looked like. He hoped to be picking up the right child there in the day care center or his help would be for nothing at all.He walked into the day care center. Kids were running around screaming. Some were in a corner crying over something. One was reading by the little book nook. He began to feel overwhelmed by it all.He saw two teachers there. And too many kids. This was why he did not want his child in a center. His child would no
Sawyer was really enjoying working for Donovan. He was a nice boss so far. And Evan was a doll. She hated leaving Shelly behind at the day care center. Donovan suggested keeping Shelly there at the home with her! He did not like day care centers either.Sawyer was overjoyed her boss was letting her have more time with her baby girl. Shelly loved helping with little Evan. It sure helped the time pass by. It almost did not seem like work at all to Sawyer. She loved her new job. From what Sawyer saw Donovan with Evan he was such a great dad. Any lady would be lucky to snag Donovan as a step-father one day.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥"Mr. Spencer, ther
Donovan was a bit forgetful these past few days. He was not meaning to. Just the days ran into each other. He was trying to keep it all straight. His old friend Quinn Masters came in town from Paris to see him. She hardly had time for him. She came around once a year when she was not busy modeling off for some country some place. He forgot he had gotten her email that she was coming to spend the weekend with him."Mr. Spencer!" he hears her say in his office one day. He looks up to see one of his many girls. Quinn Masters. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥A plastered red smile was spread on her face. She walks in his office. Sets on his desk.
Sawyer felt so stupid! Of course Donovan would have another girl! He was a billionaire! He could have anyone he wanted! Why did she think she was something special to him? She was nothing more than a nanny. After seeing Quinn there with Donovan she spent most of her time avoiding him after work. She did not linger there. She did not hang around having dinner. Or offering back rubs. That was over for her. She was going to keep their relationship strictly professional. The doorbell rang one day at Donovan's when she was working. She went to answer the door. There was that lady she saw in his embrace the other night.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥"Hi may I help you?" she asks
Donovan got home as soon as he could to see just what it was Quinn was up to around his place. He knew that Quinn greatly upset Sawyer. He felt badly about it. He had to make amends and get Sawyer to come back to him and Evan. Quinn would have to leave. That was final. He made his way home. Sawyer was not returning his phone calls, which upset him more. When Donovan got home to his surprise he found Quinn sitting on the couch wearing a sexy expensive dress holding his son. Feeding him. Donovan did not think Quinn was the mothering type. Or why Quinn decided to be the mothering type with his son."Does this thing ever stop crying?" Quinn questions him as he comes in.H
"Mom, I want to go home. Why are we here? I hate it here" whines an unhappy Shelly as Sawyer places an old wool blanket on the cot they had been given to sleep on.So many were in the room with them. You could hear talking all over the room. It was sure going to be hard to sleep."Sorry sweets. We have no home to go to at the moment" sighs Sawyer as she sits down on the cot."I am scared mommy" Shelly whimpers as tears come to her.Sawyer pulls her daughter closer to her andhugs her. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥"We have been through so much baby girl. Donovan had enough of work. He was used to flying off whenever and where ever he wanted to. He was really not used to being tied down at home for this LONG. IT seemed like forever since he had been out of town. He began to day dream about Paris. About being overseas. All the fun adventures he used to have. He bet that Sawyer and Shelly had never been out of town. Or on a trip of any kind! That was it! They could all go on a trip! He was about done with all his paper work.He was due a break. If Sawyer went along he could get a little break from Evan on the trip. Sawyer would love a free trip right? Shelly was not yet in school. So how could she say no?Donovan walked over to his father's side of the office to see if his idea for a trip was a go. All work and no play made a dull boy as they said.
Sawyer had one amazing night with her boss. Now she was not sure how to take things. She felt awkward around him. She wanted to bring it up but she did not want to bring it up. Oh how to start the convo?Did he even care? Or was it all one night of great sex? Sawyer was not going to get her hopes up with snagging a sexy billionaire like Donovan. But with past relationships' she had always ended up getting her heart broken in the end for caring FAR too much then she should have in the first place!Sawyer's phone rang.It was Donovan calling from his office at work.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
• {warning sexual conduct}•Boom!Thunder rumbled overhead. It was going to be a long night. Sawyer hated storms. At last Shelly was sleeping through it so far. Evan was sleeping. She was off duty as of right now.But she checked on Evan in the night to try to give poor Donovan a break. She spilled juice on her only pair of pj pants when the thunder boomed overhead."Crap!" she mutters softly.Everyone was asleep. She decided to wash her pants really fast and dry them. She had a load of clothing ready to wash in Donovan's wash room. She loved sleeping in her pj pants. It was chilly out. She did not want to be stuck with a night gown. She shimmy's the pants off to the fl
Donovan was up early that next morning with Evan. He did not want the little man waking up his house guests. Then he took Norton out. He was up to see Quinn leaving for Paris the next morning."See you sometime friend of mine. Take care" Quinn tells him warmly. She kisses his cheek."Have a safe flight out" he tells her.She nods as she heads out the door with her luggage. His life was somewhat back to normal now. Shelly comes wandering sleepily down the stairs. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥"Morning Mr. Spencer" yawns Shelly."Is your mother up yet?" he wonders. Shelly shakes her head no."No not yet" says Shelly.
