Chapter Nineteen, What Are You After? Some Kind of Disaster

Xavier’s Point of View

I never anticipated this level of gratitude, stemming from the memories of a little girl from years past. It was truly overwhelming to realize the impact I had made. Holding back tears, I was moved by the moment. As I stood there, her mother's sly smile, which reminded me of the wonderful evening we had spent together, left me utterly speechless. It was truly incredible. I found myself completely at a loss for words and felt my face flush with embarrassment. Rei seemed unaware of the effect she had on me.

As I felt the awkward tension lingering, I quietly mumbled, "I should probably go." I knew it would be best to leave before the situation escalated.

Shiloh smiled warmly and gave me a small wave. "It was nice to see you again," she said as I nodded and made my way out of the kitchen.

Rei walked me to the door to bid me farewell. As we reached the threshold, I silently reminded myself not to overstay my welcome. If we were to pursue a friendship, I needed to tread carefully.

Salem's voice exclaimed from the couch, "Wait! Can I see your bike?"

I turned around to find the boys gazing at me expectantly.

Rei reminded her youngest child, "Onyx is supposed to be resting his leg. It wouldn't be fair for just you to go, would it?"

Turning to Onyx, I inquired, "Did you want to see my bike?"

The injured boy, with a sad expression, nodded in agreement.

"Okay, then. Let's go," I said with a casual shrug, filled with anticipation at the thought of seeing Onyx smile.

His face beamed with joy, resembling a lit Christmas tree. I shook my head, exchanging a gaze with Rei, who seemed skeptical, silently questioning how I would handle the situation. With a determined spirit, I approached Onyx, lifted him into my arms, glanced at Salem, and gestured toward the door. Both boys cheered with excitement while Rei observed me with admiration.

I carried Onyx outside and settled him on the back of my motorcycle. Next, I assisted Salem onto the seat. Demonstrating how to start the motorcycle, I allowed Salem to initiate the engine while standing nearby to supervise. Their joyful screams filled the air, prompting laughter at their infectious happiness.

I glanced upwards at Rei, catching her closely observing us with a shy smile. Returning the gesture with a wink, I went back to the boys and their relentless barrage of questions about my motorcycle. It felt like they had already asked me a lot, but their curiosity seemed to only grow with each passing moment.

I entertained their inquires for a few more moments and then took Onyx back into the living room, carefully placing him on the couch. Salem trailed close behind, and both boys were back on their devices, enthusiastically playing video games, when Rei walked me back outside.

"Thank you... for everything, Xavier," Rei said softly.

I found myself unable to look away from her lips, filled with an intense desire to experience the tenderness of her kiss and hold Rei Draven in my arms once again. It would be so easy to do, but the consequences would be enormous. I wanted this woman so badly, but if I let myself give in, I would fuck up both of our lives. She deserved far more than I could offer.

I smiled at Rei while biting my lip, still dressed in last night's clothes, and she looked so beautiful. Her eyes expressed desire, tempting me as I turned and walked towards my bike. As I grabbed my helmet, I felt a hand on my arm. Pausing, I glanced down to see Rei reaching up, wrapping her arms around my neck, and gently pulling me closer. Surprised, I leaned in as Rei closed the gap between us. We shared a tender, hesitant kiss, and I gently placed my hand on the back of Rei's neck, holding her with care and assurance.

I knew this was wrong. I knew that there would be consequences, yet I couldn't resist. I intensified the kiss, feeling our tongues intertwine, relishing the taste of the woman I desired above all else. Rei's response was equally passionate, her actions deliberate, savoring each moment and sensation. Rei melted into me and felt perfect in my arms as if she had been created just for me. I cradled her gently, unwilling to release her. I dreaded the inevitable aftermath of my actions.

Rei whispered with hope and fear, "I want to see you again." Her trembling voice betrayed her apprehension. She knew she shouldn't feel this way about me.

"Are you sure that is a good idea?" I asked.

Rei's Point of View

I couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty. Was this even a good idea? What were my intentions here? Did I want a date? A relationship? Another quick fuck? Was I walking into some disaster? My thoughts were all over the place, but one thing was clear - I longed to see Xavier Woods again. Longed was an understatement; I felt a profound need to see him again.

His deep and captivating voice, rich with husky tones, sent delightful shivers down my spine. Each word he spoke carried a mysterious allure and passionate intensity. I yearned to hear him say my name and to feel the touch of his lips once more. Xavier Woods personified all my deepest longings.

I didn't trust my voice to speak, so I just nodded hoping that my eyes could convey everything I longed to say.

"Give me your phone, Rei," Xavier said softly, holding out his hand.

I was never more grateful than when Mary found me a hot little black dress with pockets. I quickly dug it out and handed it to Xavier. His lips quirked up in a smile when he noticed that my dress did have pockets. I don't think he was expecting me to have my phone.

After creating a contact for himself and adding his number, Xavier handed me back my phone. He put on his helmet, flashed me a quick wave, and drove away. I peered over to see what he had typed in; it showed that his contact was saved as 'X-Biker Friend.'
