Chapter 69 - Layla Prime
Layla POV
“Mia, call your mom, go stay with her; Layla, you stay here,” Richard says, and I can feel Mia tensing up next to me. Her eyes meet mine as the police officer starts to read Richard his Miranda rights. When they are done, they pull a set of handcuffs, and Richard scoffs. I watch everything as if my body is paralyzed. I can’t believe this is really happening. Why is James doing this?
“Do we really need that? I haven’t resisted my arrest, I am cooperating, and I am standing here in front of you”, Richard says with the calmest tone of voice I have ever heard. The man is like a rock, and I have to say that if this wasn’t a stressful situation and this wasn’t real, I would be turned on right now.
