Klaus

I was in my office with a lot going through my mind. My father had gone to his room to refresh himself, after which he would come to my office so we could draft the peace treaty as he had promised Nora.

There was a light tap on my office door before it slowly swung open. The person at the other end was the one person I didn't want to see at the moment.

Claudia!

She smiled at me as she walked in and slowly closed the door behind her. She turned, her smile widening as she strutted to my desk. I kept my eyes on her, but my face was expressionless.

"Is anything the matter, Klaus?" she asked, her smile dying and being replaced with worry.

I took a deep breath. Something was the matter, but it was definitely not something I would discuss with her, so I just shook my head.

"No, nothing at all is the matter," I forced a smile, knowing that giving her the cold shoulder would bring about a new bout of arguments and gaslighting, and I wasn't ready for any of those at the moment.
