Chapter 8

Carsen's POV 

   This particular staff acts a bit differently. Her character is weird. Since she found out that I was a person she should not offend, she kept acting normal.

I do not know the reason why she forgets that I am her CEO, and I have every single right to decide if she stays or not.

There is something very interesting about her nonchalant attitude, and I would be the one to handle her issues.

This workplace is going to be a living hell for her. First of all, she is going to pay for what Selene did to me.

How could she give me a mere human as a mate? Knowing fully well that those creatures are weak and pathetic. Not only did she punish me with a human, but she also gave me a rude and arrogant one.

In the sense that I can do nothing to change it, I cannot even question her; the lady would pay for it.

I brought out my system to find out things about her and to know what was giving her the urge to disobey her CEO.

"Emily Martin! That is a perfect name for a slave," I said to myself. I was going to use her as my personal slave.

"How could you be so pathetic and cruel to our mate? For how long have we been looking for her? And finding her now, you decide to frustrate and scare her away".  Rowan kept tormenting me with anything I wanted to deal with Emily.

    She can never be my mate. Even though I have been looking for my mate for a long time, I cannot accept that she is my mate. I'd rather be mateless than accept her as my mate.

One thing was really confusing in her file. Everything was not clear to me. There is something fishy about herself and her documents.

How could some things be income and some information be unavailable? This also shows the incompetence of human beings. 

How could the human resources manager employ someone without looking deep into the person's identity?

Well, regardless, I would retain her to teach her manners and respect as well as breeding her tongue.

I would also create some time to find out things about Emily Martin. 

Fortunately for me, these pathetic humans did not bring anything for me to work on. It is an opportunity for me to rest and avoid perceiving their smell everywhere.

    As I shifted the system away from my front to rest my head a little bit, I started receiving a call.

Who the hell is this about to disrupt my quiet time?

"Sir, we caught him; please pull up," John spoke to me on the phone.

John always helps me in catching those fools that would not let my clan have peace of mind.

I quickly hung up the call, grabbed my car keys, and headed to the location where they were.

It was obvious that these creatures are weak, yet some of them still risk their lives to hunt my people.

   After everything they have done to me, I would surely deal with anyone who is a threat to my life and existence and that of my people.

As I arrived at the location, I had a bit of peace of mind due to the presence of my people. I have been in the midst of humans for a long time now.

At times, their smell suffocates me, and I feel like squeezing the living hell out of every single one of them.

It was all Darren's fault, but I can do nothing about it. If he had not sent me here to mingle with humans, I would have been enjoying my peace of mind.

I cannot say no to him because he had to stay with his wife to assist her and also give her hope. 

   He was also my best friend, and I know he would do the same for me if I were to be in his shoes.

"Where is he?" I asked John, and then he directed me to where he was tied up.

"You think capturing me would help you in what you needed to know? You are very wrong because I would rather die than betray my people," the werewolf hunter said to me.

He did not even wait for me to fully arrive before spilling out that shit from his mouth.

How I wished he had known that I was very much ready for his clan; he would not have made the comment.

I could give up the whole day just to make him speak. 

"You better start talking if you know that your worthless life is important to you," I angrily threatened him, but he did not even pay attention.

I do not know the reason why human beings are very stubborn even when they are aware of their lives being at risk.

   Honestly speaking, if he did not spill out everything I needed to hear from him, I would have to rip out his heart with my bare hands.

They have killed a lot of my people for no reason at all. I would not hesitate to do the same to them if they pushed me to the wall.

I noticed that he started moving his mouth as I came closer to him with my claws ready to tear his face.

"Don't let him do it; stop him," I shouted, but it was already too late. The human had already taken his life by himself.

I was really upset as I could not get any words from his mouth. He took his life by himself just to prove loyalty. How pathetic humans are.

I walked out angrily and went into my car. I started driving home immediately. 

These humans have actually ruined my day, and if I keep on seeing them, I could wipe out their whole race.

I went home and went straight to the shower to take a cool bath.

    There was food in the house, but I did not have the strength to microwave anything, so I lay on my bed waiting for Cee to do its job.

Suddenly, I started hearing heavy bangs on my door. Who could be doing such a thing at this time of the day?

Opening the door, it was Emily Martin, the stubborn human staff member in the company. I was really shocked to see her in my house.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked her angrily.

In a grumpy tone, she responded, "Why the hell did you leave your office?".
