To say I was livid was an understatement. I have invested so much time and effort into Aryan. I knew she was struggling with something, but I didn’t realize that she didn’t trust me. I didn’t know what hurt worse.

The fact that she was the Aryan I had spent years searching for and she knew it, or that she didn’t trust me. Then there was the whole bet thing. With the bet in place, for all I knew she had been playing me from the start.

“What do you want to do about her?” Liam asked.

We were standing at the far side of the gym, where the dance had already started. There were still two minutes until Aryan’s time was up. I wasn’t actually going to press her on the time since I knew girls needed time to get ready, but if she didn’t show up, I would make her life more of a living hell than I planned to.
