The Dream

Sofia stood in the middle of an endless field, bathed in the eerie glow of the blood moon. The grass beneath her feet was cold and wet, darkened with something she didn’t want to name. A suffocating silence pressed in around her, thick and unnatural.

Then, a whisper.

At first, it was faint, drifting on the wind like a forgotten memory. But as it grew louder, the voice became clearer—hauntingly familiar yet impossible to place.

“You were never meant to survive this.”

A chill ran down Sofia’s spine. She turned in slow, hesitant steps, searching for the source, but the field stretched on endlessly, empty and hollow.

Then she saw it.

A figure stood at the edge of the horizon, shrouded in darkness, its presence unsettling and unnatural. The shadows clung to it, shifting and curling like living things. It had no face, yet she felt its eyes—cold, piercing, knowing—boring into her soul.

Sofia tried to move, to run, but her body wouldn’t obey.

“You are the key to unlocking everything… but keys can lock as well as open.”

The voice came from everywhere and nowhere, wrapping around her like a cold breath against her neck. The shadows moved, creeping closer, and with them came a sensation she couldn’t explain..like something inside her was being pulled, twisted, unraveled.

The ground beneath her cracked. A jagged line split through the earth, glowing red like molten fire, and from the depths, hands began to rise. Pale, lifeless fingers clawed at the air, reaching for her.

Panic surged in her chest. She thrashed against the invisible force keeping her frozen, but it was useless. The hands gripped her ankles, her wrists, tightening like iron shackles.

A final whisper brushed against her ear, softer this time, almost tender.

“You will choose, and it will end in blood, so enjoy it while it lasts..”

Sofia woke with a start, the remnants of her dream still clinging to her like a shadow. The forest, the glowing eyes, the bond.....it all felt too real, too heavy. She glanced over at Damien, who slept peacefully beside her, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. she allowed herself to simply watch him, her heart tugging with emotions she wasn’t ready to name.

But the peace didn’t last. Her phone buzzed on the nightstand, breaking the silence. She reached for it, her stomach sinking when she saw Jake’s name on the screen. Hesitating only for a moment," what does he want again" she swiped to answer.

“Sofia,” Jake’s voice was low, almost soothing, but she knew better. “We need to talk. It’s about Damien, I'm willing to give you answers”

Her grip tightened on the phone. What does he know? she thought, her mind racing. “What about him again?” she asked, keeping her voice steady.

“Meet me at the abandoned house by the docks,” Jake said, ignoring her question. “Midnight. make sure you come alone .”

The line went dead before she could respond. Sofia sat there, her heart pounding. She glanced at Damien again, still asleep, his features softened in the dim light. He can’t know, she thought. Not yet.

The house was exactly as she remembered it—dark, damp, and looming against the night sky. Sofia stepped inside, her heels echoing on the concrete floor. The air was thick with the scent of rust and decay, and she fought the urge to turn back.

“Glad you came alone,” Jake’s voice echoed through the space. He stepped out of the shadows, his smirk as sharp as ever. “You’re braver than I thought.”

Sofia crossed her arms, her gaze steady. “What do you want, Jake? why can't you just leave us the fuck alone,If this is another one of your mind games—”

“It’s not,” he interrupted, his tone suddenly serious. “Damien Blackwood isn’t who you think he is. aside from him being dangerous he doesn't love you Sofia, Sofia he just wants to fuck you and use you .”

She froze, her heart skipping a beat. Does he know? she thought, her mind racing. But she kept her face blank, her voice calm. “says the man who had sex behind my back And you’re suddenly concerned about my safety?”

Jake stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. “I’ve been doing some research. Damien’s not just some rich playboy. He’s… different. And if you’re not careful, you’ll end up in way over your head.”

Sofia’s mind flashed back to the visions, the bond, the way Damien’s eyes seemed to glow in the dark. But she shoved the thoughts aside, her resolve hardening. “What’s your point, Jake?”

“My point,” he said, his voice dropping to a whisper, “is that the full moon is coming. And we both know what that means for him.”

Her breath caught in her throat. How does he know about the full moon? she thought, panic rising. But she forced herself to stay calm, her voice steady. “What useless thing are you planning?”

Jake’s smirk returned, cold and calculating. “A little trap. And you, my dear, are the bait.”

Before she could respond, the lights flickered on, revealing a group of men standing in the shadows. They were armed—guns, ropes, and something that looked suspiciously like silver chains. Sofia’s heart raced, her mind spinning. This is bad.

“We’re going to take him down,” Jake said, his voice dripping with malice. “And you’re going to help us.”

Sofia took a step back, her mind racing. I have to warn Damien, she thought. But she couldn’t let Jake see her fear. “And if I refuse?”

Jake’s smile turned cruel. “Then you’ll suffer the same fate.”

Back at the penthouse, Sofia paced the living room, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. She couldn’t tell Damien—he’d never let her go through with it. But she couldn’t just sit back and let Jake use her as bait.

No, she thought, her resolve hardening. I’ll use myself as bait. But on my terms.

She picked up her phone and dialed Jake’s number. “I’ll do it,” she said before he could speak. “But we do it my way.”

Jake chuckled on the other end. “I knew you’d come around.”

The full moon was only a day away when Sofia finally told Damien about the trap. They were in the penthouse, the city lights flickering outside the windows. Damien listened in silence, his expression unreadable. When she finished, he turned to her, his eyes dark with anger.

“You’re not going,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “It’s too risky.”

Sofia met his gaze, her own eyes blazing. “I’m not letting them use me as bait, Damien. But if I don’t go, they’ll find another way to get to you. This is our chance to turn the tables.”

Damien stepped closer, his presence looming over her. “You don’t understand what you’re dealing with. These men are hunters, Sofia. They’ve been trained to kill creatures like me, why did you even accept to do it when you could have just ignored him?.”

“And you don’t understand that I can’t just sit back and let you face this alone,if I didn't accept he would have used another means and that would have been worst, us better I know his plan in order to protect you than ignore” she shot back, her voice trembling with emotion. “I’m part of this now, Damien. Whether you like it or not.”

He stared at her, his jaw clenched, but she could see the conflict in his eyes. Finally, he growled, “Fine. But you follow my lead. No heroics.”

Sofia nodded, her heart pounding. “Deal.”

The night of the full moon, Sofia stood in the middle of the warehouse, her heart racing. The hunters were hidden in the shadows, their weapons at the ready. Jake stood beside her, his smirk as cold as ever.

“Ready to meet your fate?” he whispered.

Sofia ignored him, her eyes fixed on the door. Come on, Damien, she thought, her palms sweating. Where are you?

The door creaked open, and Damien stepped inside, his eyes glowing in the dark. “Let my woman go,” he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Jake laughed, his grip tightening on Sofia’s arm. “Or what? You’ll howl at the moon?”

“Let. Her. Go.” Damien’s voice was a snarl, and Sofia felt the air around her shift, heavy with danger.

Jake’s smirk faltered, but he didn’t back down. “You’re outnumbered, Blackwood. It’s over.”

Sofia’s heart raced as she glanced between Damien and the hunters. Now or never. She jerked her arm free from Jake’s grasp and ran toward Damien, her heart pounding in her chest.

“Stop her!” Jake shouted, but it was too late. Sofia reached Damien just as the first hunter fired, the silver bullet whizzing past her ear.

Damien grabbed her, pulling her against him as his eyes glowed brighter. “You shouldn’t have come,I told you to wait for my lead” he growled, his voice a mix of anger and fear.

“I couldn’t let them hurt you,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

" we can't escape it, endangering yourself is what they want, they knew you are my weakness and the only way they can hurt me"

The hunters closed in, their weapons aimed at Damien. Jake’s voice echoed through the house, “End him nowwwww!”

Damien’s grip tightened around Sofia as he growled. “No,” she said, her voice firm. “ I'm not leaving here without a fight, I need to show them who the boss is.”

Damien glanced down at her, his eyes softening for just a moment. Then, with a roar that shook the walls, he shifted, his form twisting into something terrifying and beautiful. The hunters froze, their weapons trembling in their hands.

“Run,” Sofia whispered, her heart pounding as she turned to face Jake. “This is my fight now, and I will make sure I end it.”

" you all will regret ever laying your dirty hands on my woman"

Sofia stirred in bed, the faint light of dawn casting a golden glow across the room. The warmth of Damien’s body beside hers sent a thrill through her, a reminder of the night they had just shared. Her fingers trailed across the hard lines of his chest, the steady rise and fall of his breath grounding her in a way she hadn’t experienced before. Last night had been unexpected, a culmination of the tension that had been building between them. The walls they had carefully constructed between passion and restraint had crumbled, leaving them exposed, vulnerable, and undeniably connected. Damien stirred, his amber eyes flickering open. For a moment, the vulnerability of his gaze softened the sharp edges of his usual stoic demeanor. But as his eyes met hers, a shadow passed over his expression. His jaw tightened, and he pulled back slightly, his hand brushing through his tousled hair. “This... can’t happen again,” he murmured, his voice tinged with regret. Sofia’s chest tightened.
