My stomach dropped as I stared at Dr. O'neil's smiling face. Behind him the rich darkness called to me and the beast's growls racked invisible claws down my back. This was no werewolf. Whatever it was, it wasn't of any world and there was Devon. The two scents confused me, I wanted to turn tail and run the hell out of that place.
"Iris, my dear, don't be scared. It won't harm you." Samuel O'neil soothed as he saw my expression. The beast snarled from inside and it called to me. The vibrations of the sound hitting my bones, it was making my wolf excited. I took a few steps towards the door, my body shaking with fear and I could feel my bones shifting, my eyes burning and once again I was thankful for the darkness.
"Move." I snarled at the doctor and stepped past him inside the room. My heart skipped a beat as I glimpsed him. Silver, glowing, hot searing orbs. The silver so bright that I had to squint.
"What are you.." the words left my mouth with a rush of air.
"He's my greatest experiment. He's the world's first hybrid." The doctor whispered.
Hybrid.
The word flashed through my mind as I was pulled back into time; my mind recalling the tales. The ancient legends, the stories that were shunned in the name of myths. The stories that talked of blood and horror, of violence and death. A creature made of two, a mix of races that should not exist, a monster, a hybrid.
I shivered and pulled my eyes away from those piercing orbs. My hands shook, I couldn't stay still. It was over. I was too late. I couldn't save him. Devon Knight was not himself anymore. He was no more. My knees buckled and I slid down to the floor, the cool tiles doing nothing to lessen my shock. I had failed. Nesta Rivera, the best agent at FRIO, was a failure.
I couldn't save him and suddenly I wasn't in the room anymore. I was in the grassy backyard of my parents' country house, my hands clutching my school bag as I stepped inside the gate. The creaking sound of the rusty iron, a sign of my dad's laziness to oil them, and then the shouts, a blazing heat, the thunder of a blast, my body thrown away as everything burned. My mind screaming at me to stand up, walk into the fire and make everything alright.
I couldn't save them. Mama, Papa were dead. I was a failure.
"Iris!" Hands shook me by the shoulder and I blinked. My cheeks were wet, I quickly dabbed it away. A snarl echoed around me, I pulled myself up on my feet.
"Don't be scared, Iris. You'll have to do my work when I am not here." He whispered to me. I looked at the half naked man bound on the bed in one corner. His eyes were heavy lidded as if he was fighting to stay awake. His sharp canines flashing in the dark. He was like a storm contained but still deadly.
"Did you d-drug him?" I asked the doctor, fury making my voice shake.
"Yes. He's loaded with sedatives. I don't want him awake. He's been in this state since he was brought to me and when I am gone it will fall to you to see that he stays that way." The doctor whispered, his eyes pinned on Devon.
"How do you keep him bound?" I asked, it was never easy to contain a werewolf, they were too feral and powerful for any kind of chains or ropes and Devon knight was a.. hybrid. How did he keep him bound?
"Silver. Deadly to the werewolves." The doctor said with a grin. My stomach dropped. Silver chains, silver burned our skin and it could even kill us. I snapped my head in Devon's direction, he was wrapped in the chain from head to toe, he had to be in excruciating pain, I thought with an aching heart.
"It's time to go back, Iris. I hope you will handle everything well." The doctor said as he walked out of the room. I didn't move an inch, my back was still pressed to the wall as I stared at Devon. His silver gaze boring into me. I felt compelled. My heart ached for him and I didn't even realize that I was moving towards him until the doctor's sharp warning stopped me dead.
"God, don't stand that close to the beast!" He barked. I wiped my hands on the fabric of my jeans and resisted the urge to free him from those chains.
"Iris!" O'neil called out. I ignored him.
I still couldn't move. I just couldn't stop staring at him.
"Devon.." I whispered his name. My heart beating louder as I waited for him to look up, to give me some sort of signal that he was there. Nothing. He just closed his eyes and the dark locks of his hair slid over his face.
"Come on. I have to lock the door." O'neil hissed from behind me and I felt his hand close around my wrist.
"Let's go." He said as he dragged me outside. I was too stunned to shake his hand off, I just kept staring at Devon's still form. The soft light glinting off his bare shoulders as his head hung low until my view was blocked by O'Neil as he locked the door and dragged me towards the stairs.
"Get going." He said to me and pushed me to the stairs. I climbed up and out of the door, the coldness of the hallways making me shudder. Dr. O'neil grabbed my hand and pushed something into my palm. It was the key.
"Keep this with you. I have to hurry now, the chopper leaves for Peru tonight." O'Neil said and walked past me, shrugging out of his coat as he walked away. I felt the jagged metal surface of the keys with my fingers, it was still warm from O'Neil's hand.

I stood motionless in front of the metal door the next day. His scent was wrapping around me, a dangerous mix of werewolf and vampire. It made my wolf excited and I pressed my face against the door. I didn't even know how he looked. It was dark yesterday and I was shocked so I wasn't able to look at his face clearly. Eyes of molten silver flashed through my mind and I whimpered. He had such a crippling effect on me. Why?
I shook myself out of my thoughts and pulled out the keys, opening the thick door with a smooth click. A warm daft hit my face and I slipped inside.
It was still dark. I looked around and spotted a muscled back and the line of his powerful thighs as he slept on the bed which was placed in one corner of the room near a weird sort of machine that was chiming, and beside it was a table that had long syringes filled with some pale blue liquid which I assumed was the drug used to subdue him. I moved hesitantly towards him, his hands and legs were bound with a thick silver chain. There were burn marks on his skin and I shuddered to think the sort of pain it would have caused. My heart filled with a sudden burst of fury and I looked around frantically for some sort of equipment that would unlock the chains but there was nothing.
I swore and quickly pulled at the chain, as soon as my skin touched the silver a vicious burn made me almost drop it; I gritted my teeth and pulled with the strength that I had, my eyes watered but I kept pulling until the chain gave way and it slid around his hand. I quickly reached around and unwrapped the chains from his body and dropped it on the floor with an audible clang. I breathed deeply, my hands were covered with burns but I was used to pain, training for being an agent at FRIO had taught me to endure. I sighed and braced myself against the bed.
All this time he hadn't moved an inch, which led me to believe that he was still in the state of unconsciousness.
I looked over at him, my eyes taking him in from head to toe. His face was averted from me but his back was bare and his long legs were covered with black denim jeans which were worn and threadbare. His broad shoulders gleamed where the light from the open door hit his skin and I wasn't above admiring the thick muscles of his back and his forearms.
He stirred and I stilled, my heart beating wildly inside my chest. His body moved as he turned and suddenly I was pinned under the coldness of those stormy gray eyes, which had been silver last night.
Everything froze as we stared at each other. My heart was hammering in my chest. He blinked, the dark fringe of his lashes sweeping up and down as if he was barely able to stay awake.
"Devon." I choked out his name.
His lips parted and his dark eyebrows furrowed as he tried to concentrate.
"Ayrin." He whispered, the rough sound squeezing my heart as I realized that he was asking for Ayrin Moors who was dead. He had loved her and she was taken away from him.
"Ayrin." He said stiffly, his deep voice startling me. He tried to sit up, I quickly leaned in and placed my hands on his chest, his skin warm and silken to touch as I pushed him back but it was like pushing a wall of steel. He didn't even move an inch. Strong hands wrapped around my arm and I nearly cried out at the painful grip. He buried his face in the crook of my neck and I felt his breath against my skin as he inhaled deeply and the next thing I knew, I was hurled into the air and a splintering pain lashed down my spine as my back collided with the wall. I slid down and curled into a ball on the floor, my whole body was a mass of agony.
"You're not Ayrin!" He hissed furiously as he crouched down in front of me. I looked up to see the gray eyes turn silver and I managed to pull myself up and press my body away from him. He reached out, long fingers brushing against my cheek, clamping down on my flesh as he tilted my face up, he stared into my eyes for a long time. I whimpered and tried to shrug off his hold but he just tightened his grip.
"Who are you?" He clipped out. I breathed deeply and curled my hands against his chest, My eyes squeezed tightly and a tear escaped past my eyelids. There was a long time of silence and then his hand slid away from my face. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at his face, his eyes were back to its stormy gray colour and his dark locks slid down his face. He was very attractive I thought as I looked at him closely.
"I am not Ayrin." I whispered, Unnerved by that unreadable stare.
"I know. You are human." He snarled the last word. I shrugged away from him. He moved back a bit but still towered over me as if he thought I would escape.
"I-I am not human!" I blurted out.
"Liar. I can scent it on you." He said, his deep voice dripping with scorn. He despised humans and it was only reasonable after all the torture he had endured because of humans.
"It's a g-glamour! I am a werewolf!" I exclaimed as I saw his eyes turning silver, he was getting angry. I watched in horror as his nails extended into sharp claws as he waved them in front of me, oh so close to the pulsing artery in my neck. I felt a spark of fear. It didn't matter how much I tried to think of him as Devon Knight, the agent at FRIO who had written all his feelings in a diary, but he was no longer just a werewolf, he was a hybrid. No normal werewolf was able to change any single part of their body without the complete change while he was able to sprout claws whenever he desired. He was well and truly changed.
"I will ask again, human, who are you and what have you done to me?" He growled.
"I am not a human! And I am here because Gregory Hemsworth sent me to find you and bring you back to Etherea! I would have been having a nice drink with my sister at her home and enjoying myself if it weren't for you!" I shouted as my patience snapped. He just stared at me, his claws pricking my skin. I hissed and caught his wrist in my hand.
"Do not touch me without my permission." I gritted out and tried to fling his hand away from me but he was stronger, of course, and I ended up feeling like a fool.
"What proof do you have that you are a werewolf?" He bit off. His hand was still roaming around my neck but I no longer felt the sharp prick of his claws.
"Get away from me and I will show you." I said calmly. He looked at me strangely then moved away, I had no doubt that he could catch me in seconds if he thought I was trying to escape.
I raised my hand and removed the contacts from my eyes, wincing as I roughened it up accidentally. I blinked away the moisture and turned to stare at him, expecting him to flinch.
He gasped, his face unreadable as he examined my eyes. I knew what he was seeing. My too wide mouth, the strange lilac eyes which everyone said were unnerving, the small scar at my left cheekbone and the mousy brown hair which I knew were a mess. I wasn't much of a looker. I felt vulnerable under his intense gaze and I hated him for making me feel that way.
"That doesn't prove anything." He rasped.
"What?!" I hissed and pushed myself to my feet, the pain at my back was now a dull ache, one of the many benefits of being a werewolf.
"Get down, human." He growled, his warm hand squeezing my thigh as he continued to sit on the floor. I froze. It felt strange and intimate, the feel of his palm on my thigh. He snarled when I continued to stand, his eyes blazed and he pulled me down, making me fall into his lap, his face inches away from mine. He exposed his sharp canines and in a quick movement of his head, he sank his teeth into my neck. I screamed. He withdrew his teeth but his lips closed around the wound as he flicked his tongue against my abused flesh, lapping my blood. I jerked his head away and tried to get off his lap.
"What have you done to me, human?!" He growled. I looked over my shoulder and saw the horrified expression on his handsome face. He looked disgusted as he stared at the blood trickling down my neck.
"Why do I crave your blood?" He asked, his face pale, the blood on his lips, my blood stood stark against his skin.
It was at that moment I realized that he didn't know what he was. He didn't know that he was a hybrid.
"Damn me to hell.." I whispered as I stared at the hybrid.
I stared at the hybrid sleeping in my bed. I had to inject him with one of the drug filled syringes to stop him from attacking me. I felt a stab of guilt for doing that but then I remembered the white bandage on the bite mark on my neck and shrugged. I did it to save myself. I shouldn't feel any sort of guilt. It had taken a lot of patience and strength on my part to drag him, who weighed double my body weight, up to my room in the dead of night without alerting someone of what I was doing. It was 3 am in the morning and I felt like I was run down by a truck. I stretched my body and let out a groan as I felt the knot in my back loosen. I staggered towards the bed and looked down at the still half naked Devon Knight. He looked so different when he slept. The lines of his face softened and his dark brows were relaxed, his sensual mouth curved into a peaceful half smile. The dark curtains of his lashes fluttered over his cheeks and I felt a spark of fear, my hand going immediately to t
"I am so sorry." I said miserably as I watched him stiffen, his eyes turning glassy as if he had gone numb. "I was too late. I am so sorry." I whispered and buried my face in his chest, breathing in the now familiar scent of his. He was silent for so long and I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt a heavy arm wrap around my waist. He buried his face in the crook of my neck and froze. "A hybrid." He whispered against my skin. "A monster. I am truly a monster now." He said, his voice sounded shattered as if he were fighting some inner demons and I felt his body shake. His hands tightened around me, his fingers clenching around my waist. "I am a monster, Ayrin." He growled.I stiffened. He called me Ayrin. I didn't know why but that hurt me. I pulled my face away from his chest and pushed him back until he was forced to let go. I jumped out of the bed and stumbled to the bathroom, pulling the door closed behind me. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes looked pained. Wh
I sat down on the floor, trying to think of an escape plan. "How the hell are we going to get out?!" I shouted after some time. I was frustrated because the damned organisation was so well guarded that it was impossible to escape without getting caught. I snarled and jumped up, clutching my head with my hands. Impossible! "I can help you." He said from behind me. I groaned and turned to face him.He was fresh out of a shower, wet hair slicked back and a few locks curling at his neck, enticingly. He was wearing one of my oversized sweatshirts which was too tight for him, molding to his abs and his chest like second skin. His features were sharp, his nose straight and his eyebrows arched. His lips were slightly thin at the edges and it made him look too damn handsome and not to mention those gray orbs. He blinked and I realized that I was staring. "Uh.. what did you say?" I asked, trying hard not to cringe because of how breathless I sounded. "I can take us out of here." He said, h
Devon snarled and launched himself at the guard, his body changing right in front of my eyes until all that was left of him were the silver eyes on the huge black wolf that was tearing away viciously at the guard. I was shocked but I didn't waste time as I quickly pulled out my gun and kicked the other guard who had reached for me. His gun flew out of his hands and I didn't hesitate to shoot his leg. He howled as he went down.I picked up his machine gun and turned to face the third guard but he was not where he had been moments ago. I looked around sharply until I saw him moving slowly towards where Devon was clawing at the first guard. He had his gun trained on Devon's wolf form. I cursed and rushed for him but it was too late. A deafening sound came from the gun as I watched the bullets hit the wolf's black fur. He growled and his form trembled, his fur dripping with blood as he turned to look at the guard who was still pointing the gun at him, I shouted and fired at the guard blin
I somehow managed to keep my eyes away from the six feet of muscled young, male werewolf who was standing in front of me as naked as the day he was born. It was a relief that his back was to me so I didn't get the full view. I gulped as I squeezed my eyes shut. It was not uncommon to see naked bodies in Etherea occasionally in your life because it was a werewolf realm but some bodies.. damn. I got onto my feet and tried to ignore the constant drumming in my head. Damn, the guard hit me too hard. "You're ready, Agent?" He asked as I came to stand beside him, trying to keep my eyes on the surface of the lake and not anywhere else. His question had me going rigid and I quickly peeked at his face. He was not looking at me."What?" I asked. "We have to jump through the portal, keep your head straight." He barked. My cheeks burned with embarrassment. He knew I was uncomfortable because of him. That damned hybrid knew."Yes, Agent." I whispered meekly and stared down at the lake. Shit
I sat there numb for a few minutes. The screams were so filled with pain that it made goosebumps rise on my body. I just couldn't handle the fact that someone was in pain while I sat there. I pulled myself up and slowly rubbed my eyes. One look at the clock said it was 8 in the morning. I had to go to the office and inform Winterlash about all that had happened in the human world. My eyes fell back to the phone and I shivered. I had to do something to forget the phone call, I decided as I took off for my room. I changed into a gray cotton shirt which hung loose on me and buttoned on the front, a pair of tight black slacks and a braided beige belt. I stepped into my all black running shoes and pulled my hair back in a tight ponytail. I reached down under my bed and took out the tranquilliser gun and my lethal 9 mm which had silver bullets, tucking them into my thigh holster. I was ready. My pickup was waiting for me and I quickly got in, starting it down the slope and onto the road.
"Why am I summoned?" I asked him softly. "I don't know that. I was just told to appoint my best agent." Winterlash replied. "And you appointed me?" I squeaked. Why?! I wanted to scream."You're the best we have." He shrugged, his eyes gleaming at me and I knew the bastard was enjoying this. "But.. but I can't go! I have to go back to the human realm and rescue those creatures, you have to understand I can't go!" I exclaimed, thinking about the poor creatures and the vampires trapped in the organisation. Winterlash didn't reply, his eyes lowered and I felt a bit unnerved by his reaction. "The portals. They are not sealed, are they?" I asked him, dreading his answer. When he just gave a small nod, I felt my stomach lurch. "What about the creatures, Winterlash?" I asked him softly. He didn't answer. "I can't believe it. We can't abandon them! You have to open the portals. I have to save them!" I hissed at him but he just ignored me. My eyes burned and I felt a stray tear roll dow
The grey eyes burned me down bit by bit and all I could do was stare. His dark hair were styled impeccably but one black lock spilled on his brow as if it couldn't be controlled, he was wearing a black tunic that gaped open till his mid chest, showing off the rich golden skin of his, the tight dark pants molded to his muscular thighs and legs perfectly emphasising.. his power. He looked so different, nothing like the half naked agent wearing threadbare jeans. I knew I was ogling him but I couldn't pull my eyes away from him. "Are you both done looking at each other?" Xavier drawled, breaking the moment. Devon straightened and looked away from me. "I will show you to your rooms, come with me." He said curtly and started walking towards the stairs made of flawless marble which led upward in a long, straight sweep, then divided into two, both arms leading to the gallery above.I breathed deeply and followed him with Xavier and Ivan behind me. They were busy in some conversation so I qu
Nesta’s POV:I woke up to a cold feeling at my back as the breeze coming from the open window slid against my bare skin.I groaned and pulled up the silk sheets higher and almost jumped out of the bed when a large arm snaked around me and pulled me into a warm embrace. The fog of sleep cleared from my mind and I blushed as I remembered the events of last night. His touch was branded on my skin and I smelled like him from head to toe, anyone who saw me today would know what I had done last night. I buried my face in the pillow and snuggled into Devon, his chest pressing against my back and I felt him let out a small sigh, the masculine sound travelling through my body and I shivered. "Still cold?" He asked, his voice rough with sleep and I felt that churning at the pit of my stomach again. He rose on his hands and hovered above and I wrapped my arms around his waist instinctively, bringing him down as I kissed his brow and the soft flutter of his eyelashes against my chin made me
Nesta’s POV:Devon's fingers curled around my fisted hand and he slowly opened it to intertwine our fingers and brought it to his lips, kissing my knuckles as he breathed against my skin. "I am so sorry." He whispered in a breathless voice and I felt the self loathing and guilt of his through the bond, he felt scared at the prospect of losing me, that panic was eating away at him, he couldn't get the thought out of his mind, he thought that he would lose me just like he lost all of his family. I didn't know how I felt about the fact that I was not just a werewolf anymore and I didn't want to think about it so I decided to push it back and focus on Devon. He needed me. I made a soothing sound as I cupped his jaw in my hands, my own eyes tearing up at how much he was hurting inside."I am never going to leave you. You are my mate and my very heart beats just for you. I-I came back just for you." I told him, my voice cracking at the end as I remembered the darkness that had awaited my d
Devon’s POV:I rushed through the mansion, my feet almost slipping on the smooth floor, Daniel following behind. A few humans tried to intervene, servants who gave up after I knocked out one or two who were too bold to come in my way. I followed the scent of Nesta, through a dark corridor and down a dimly lit stairway and then I heard the voices and the slow but steady heart beat of my mate. She was alive, I growled and burst through the half closed door, the door banging on the wall. My eyes went straight to the pale naked body on the floor, the white marble of the room stained with red blood, I saw the torn skin at her neck, blood sticking to her pale skin, her cheeks were stained with tears and I couldn't control the snarl that ripped out of me, rage boiling my blood. "She's not dead!" Someone yelled and I looked at the man wearing the white coat, his brown eyes staring at me in fear and panic. I knew who he was. I didn't wait for him to speak again and launched myself at him, my
Devon’s POV:"She came to my lands, threatened to slaughter all my people if I didn't do what she wanted, I had seen her power, sensed her horrible hate, I knew she would do it if I refused and that was even before I met Louisa, my mate." His throat bobbed as he paused, his eyes not meeting mine. "She went away for a few years and I didn't hear from her until after I was mated to Louisa. I thought that she had forgotten about me but.." his lips twisted in a bitter smile as he looked up. "She sent a bloody heart in a gift box to my doorsteps to congratulate me on my wedding and then after a few months I received a summon, her asking me to attend a ball, to take my best assassin with me to take down the Ulfric and I was told to capture you as well but you left early that night, taking Nesta with you and I didn't get the chance, thank Luna. I was.. I was horrified. I didn't want to do it, even thinking about it was like going against the motherland. I couldn't do it and I went to her, t
Louisa’s POV:I could feel my heart calming as I dragged my fingers through Daniel's fur, he was sleeping in his wolf form, too exhausted to change forms and it was a good thing for him as being in his other form sped up his healing. I watched him snuggle into my lap and press his snout in my palm, his eyes opening and closing as he peeked at my face. I was happy and so relieved that he was back, I breathed in heavily as a scene from earlier flashed before my eyes. I was sleeping when the Beta's wife had barged in my room with a strained look on her face, I had expected the worse but when a bleeding Daniel had stumbled through the main door of the mansion, his feet bare and bleeding heavily on the white carpet as he had collapsed onto the tea table and turned into his wolf form. I closed my eyes and buried my face in his neck, nuzzling the fur there as we breathed together. My mate was alive and safe, it was like everything was right with my world again. A soft knock sounded on the
Nesta’s POV:My body was on fire, I wanted to get out of these damn clothes and I clawed at my skin, it was on fire too. Everything was so hot. Someone said something to me but I was not in the mood to listen as I ripped open my shirt and shrugged out of my pants, I needed to change. My bones shifted with each step I took, I needed to go out, feel the wet dirt beneath my paws, the crisp wind bit into my body as I raced through the forest, I wanted to talk to the mists, I wanted to be one with the forest and never come out. "Nesta, it's not like I don't appreciate the view but you need to get back in your clothes. I don't want to die at Devon's hands. Okay?" Xavier drawled from somewhere in the room but I wasn't listening. I was much too aware of my wolf and how angry she was, she was breaking free and I was letting her. I shook my head frantically and rushed towards the only door I could see. I didn't stop when he called again because I couldn't and didn't want to. I just wanted to b
Liberty’s POV:I woke up feeling as if a heavy weight was pounding down on my head, everything was blurred and misty in front of my eyes and my tongue seemed to be swollen like wool inside my mouth. I swallowed hard and shuddered, my ears twitched as I strained to hear the whispered conversation taking place somewhere in my vicinity. "I say, we should just finish her off." A man's voice whispered. "No! You fool! The mistress knows that we brought a girl, she already asked Talon to bring her in." Another voice said and a few sounds of rustling followed the conversation. I bit back a curse as my wrists chafed against the shackles connected to a rough brick wall. At least my legs were free. I gritted my teeth. How could I have been so careless as to let these stupid werewolves take me? What did they even want from me? My eyes slowly regained clarity as the effect of the drug they had injected in me started to fade. I could see a small wooden door fitted to a white washed wall, which
Nesta’s POV:Ivan stood beside me with a frown between his brows. "The Ulfric wants us to go there tomorrow." He said, running a hand through his curls. I gulped, my stomach churning at the prospect of going down south and confronting Daniel and his pack. I just didn't want to be a part of it but I had to, it was why I had been sent here."Then we will." I answered, my voice thick but steady. I had almost called Winterlash last night, intending to beg and even grovel at his feet for taking me off this mission. I wanted to plead with him to call me back home. I tensed as the scent of leather and ink flooded the drawing room announcing his presence even before he stepped into the room and Xavier mercifully stayed quiet as he glanced over his shoulder. "Devon." Ivan greeted him curtly and I waited for him to speak. There was only silence that met my ears, a swirling energy drawing close to us as Devon neared, aggression filling the room."Greetings, Devon." Xavier drawled and it was o
Nesta’s POV:"Don't think that you are off the hook." He whispered in my ear from behind and I shuddered. "We still need to talk." He said and this time I felt the lightest touch of his fingers against my back and he was gone, he was standing in front of me gazing at me with a cool detachment. I sighed. "Why did you call me here?" I asked him, giving my surroundings a quick searching look. We were on the terrace, he had asked me to come up to meet him, the night sky was cloudy and there was no wind stirring, making the weather humid. "Ivan found out the owner of the number." He said and I stilled. "When?" I whispered, excitement stirring up my energy. "Last night." "And you're telling me now?!" I exclaimed. He shrugged and looked over my shoulder and behind himself as if checking for any eavesdroppers. "There is no one here." I said, he was making me paranoid. "Talk!" I hissed. His lips pressed into a thin line as he regarded me with those cold eyes. Why was he staring at me l
