“Where are you guys? Dad’s about to commit treason against the King if you aren’t back soon.” Harlie linked Brielle.

The four alpha’s were making their way back through the surrounding woods, finally remembering why they were there in the first place after that quick distraction.

Brielle’s cheeks flushed as she crinkled her nose. They’d have to come up with some form of excuse as to why they’d been gone longer than necessary without Zion. “We’ll be two minutes, we got a bit… caught up. Can you bring me some clothes?”

Ryker tightened his arm around Brielle’s waist as they came into the clearing, although they hadn’t gotten the result they wanted in terms of capturing Zion, matters between his brothers and his mate were progressing just as he had hoped.

The four stood at the edge of the training grounds as Harlie ran over with an oversized T-shirt for Brielle to throw on, along with three pairs of navy, Amaris joggers for the triplets. It wouldn’t bode well for any of them if they m

After Reid continued to apply his boyish charm, David eased off the interrogation with his daughters mates. Granted, he still wasn’t pleased by Brielle’s decision, but she was right when she said it was her decision to make, not his. Besides, it turned out Reid was right. He really does have a way with parents, 10 minutes after declaring his forfeit of the challenges David had taken the alpha under his arm and headed into the pack house for a beer. Brielle, Harlie and Sophia found themselves rendered speechless as they watched the pair joke over Brielle’s stubbornness. Sophia was happy her daughter had embraced the sacred bond she was blessed with, adoring the way Brielle’s face lit up as she interacted with them. King Nathaniel and Queen Serena had headed back to Amaris shortly after being updated on the situation with Zion, they decided the next best course of action was to liaise with Gladdis and attempt to track down the witches helping him. Ryker opened his arms for Brielle’s embrace as she and Reid wandered into the living room with wide smiles. Her eyes softened as she noticed her readily awaiting mate, before taking a seat next to him on the brown, vintage leather sofa and resting her head against his chest. Ryker placed a soft kiss on her forehead as Reid plonked himself down beside them. Harlie and Scarlett were sat on a matching sofa opposite the three alphas, both wearing knowing smirks as they eyed Brielle. River was sprawled out in an arm chair at the side of Ryker, flicking through the channels on the tv as he considered the film options. Scarlett shuffled her fingers through her bowl of popcorn, still grinning at her alpha. “Nice of you both to join us.” She teased, earning herself an eye roll from Brielle. “Was the shower taking too long to heat up, Bri?” Harlie pondered, before taking a handful of Scarlett’s popcorn and shoving it in her mouth. Scarlett scoffed. “I think the problem was trying to cool i

After a morning of emotional goodbyes, the group headed back to Amaris Castle just as they had planned. Unlike the previous day, the car journey back was much less eventful. Reid blasted out his favourite Kelly Clarkson songs, Scarlett grumbled over his ability to stay on key, Harlie was still in a daze over watching the Queen in action, River was concentrating on driving and Brielle and Ryker calmly enjoyed the views from the backseat. River would sometimes catch Brielle’s gaze through the rear-view mirror, but any thoughts remained unsaid. They had made progress on this trip, progress which they both hoped would continue. But they both knew they had a lot to discuss before any real developments could be made. A small smile fell on Brielle’s lips as she thought back to how he took care of her last night, she didn’t know he had that side to him and it had been a welcomed surprise. He held her in his arms until the sun rose and despite all the conflict between them, she felt comple

Brielle and the triplets spent the remainder of their day settling back into life at the castle. Their meeting with the Royals and Gladdis had been shortly adjourned thereafter, with Gladdis concluding that she needed additional time to reach out to her contacts and discuss her theory on who she believed to be helping Zion. She hadn’t told them much, only that she believed the witch to be a lady named Nimue before stating the woman ‘was nothing but trouble’. The triplets, Harlie and Scarlett had been assigned watch duty on Brielle, or as she preferred to call it ‘baby sitting’ to ensure she didn’t attempt any more disappearing acts. Brielle had to admit that it hadn’t been all bad though, she would have been lying if she said she hadn’t enjoyed the constant attention from her mates. Both Reid and Ryker had refused to leave her side since they left the office. However, as she woke up with the both of their legs sprawled over her and not an inch of room for her to move, she was debati

After Brielle and Ocean were formally announced the winners of the tracking challenge, River congratulated her before quickly scurrying off. She had been hoping for an opportunity for the pair of them to talk following recent events, but as he dashed off before barely finishing his sentence, she found herself more confused than before. Politely excusing herself from the presence of the King and Queen, Brielle headed back to the castle grounds. It was only a short walk, but it was long enough for her to contemplate what had just happened. She couldn’t help but find it bizzarre that River appeared at the finish point so long after her. Sure, Ocean was quick.. but Kane was quicker. There wasn’t an ounce of her that believed it genuinely took River and Kane over an hour to track a singular scent. “What are you thinking?” Ocean perked up, also finding the whole ordeal slightly strange. “Do you think there’s a chance he.. let us win?” Brielle pondered, feeling uneasy just at the thought

The sun rose sooner than Brielle had hoped for, she wasn’t ready to leave Reid’s warm embrace. After completing the bond last night, the pair had spent the following hours talking, laughing and exploring each other further. Reid had opened up about his father and upbringing, allowing Brielle to feel closer to him than ever. The same horrified nausea she had felt when listening to his story’s reignited as she thought back. Many things made sense to her now. If she had endured the same torture her mates had, well she would feel the same apprehension about mate bonds as they initially did. She knew now more than ever that a conversation between her and River needed to happen sooner, rather than later. As soon as Reid’s death grip on her waist loosened, she would go and find him. Although as he pulled her back closer against his chest, she knew she wouldn’t be escaping any time soon. She melted into his embrace, instantly relaxed by his peachy scent. She smiled to herself, unable to r

River’s lips claimed Brielle’s in a greedy, passionate kiss that made her forget anything else. His fingers possessively wrapped around her throat, desperate to finally feel her. Brielle melted under him, embracing the warmth of his touch as she tangled her fingers in the back of his hair. River’s sandalwood scent filled the world around her, consuming every fibre of her being. He growled against her lips, intoxicated by her warm minty breath. Something unlocked within him, a raw primal need to feel her, taste her. He gripped her waist, digging his fingers into her skin, pulling her body against his so there wasn’t an inch between them. Brielle didn’t fight against him, instead moaning slightly as her body slammed against his rock-hard chest, causing River to let out a possessive snarl as her whimper drove him into into a frenzy. She’d never been kissed like this before, so animalistic and intense. Like they would die the second they stopped. There was nothing gentle about what th

Hours of conversation, laughter and stolen kisses had passed before Brielle and River finally drifted off to sleep. Brielle hadn’t intended to stay in River’s room tonight, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave him. So instead, wrapped securely in his arms under the duvet, she invited sleep to take her. She’d felt the most at peace in this moment, content as everything was falling into place. She missed her other two mates, but she also wanted to enjoy this time where it was just her and River. They had barely spent any time alone since they had met, this was their time to bond.. just the two of them. Skin on skin, scents intertwined, nothing to be heard but the sound of their own simultaneous breathing, their hearts fluttering with every gentle brush of their lips. They had formed their own little bubble, no one allowed entry apart from them. They had fought through their tiredness, not ready to succumb to the darkness of the night until their exhaustion left them no alternativ

It had been an intense year for the Alphas as they settled into their new roles. Merging the two packs had taken some serious work, it had taken a while for the natural rivalry between the two to die down and accept each other as one. Fortunately, the Blood Moon members immediately accepted Brielle as one of their own. Whether that was due to their own kindness or fear of being castrated by the triplets was unclear, but Brielle was grateful nevertheless. David had finally come to terms with his little girl being mated, not that he had been given much choice. Although, there had been a moment where Brielle feared David would be pushed over the edge when it came out Harlie was mated to the Blood Moon beta, Lucas. But just like the triplets, Lucas had managed to charm his way into David’s good graces, after Sophia threatened to have him sleeping on the couch if he didn’t give up his hostile persona. Harlie and Lucas were the perfect match, both incredibly loyal to one another and to

It had been an emotional morning for many as everyone shared their goodbyes. Brielle especially found leaving Amaris unexpectedly hard, so much had changed for her there and so many wonderful memories had been created, leaving was bittersweet. But as the saying goes; as one door closes, another door opens. Brielle and the triplets had been discussing over the last few days how to merge the packs, with as little disruption as possible. Luckily, as there wasn’t much distance between the two lands, a solution was found. Both Brielle and River had sent links to their pack members asking them to meet on common ground between the two, explaining they would be there shortly to make an announcement. River set his palm on Brielle’s thigh, whilst his other hand remained tight on the steering wheel. He noticed a disappointed expression written across her face, one that had him frowning. “What is it, Brie?” He wondered. Brielle turned to meet his gaze, before briefly shaking her head with a s

Brielle danced the night away, laughing and drinking with Harlie and Scarlett, not having a care in the world as since the day they first arrived at Amaris, they could finally relax. The girls secured their spot in the middle of the dance floor and moved like their life depended on it, spilling drinks as they joked with one another. Reid, to no surprise to Brielle, regularly joined in with their hysterics, twirling Brielle around and throwing her over his shoulder as he danced to the beat. River and Ryker made a few appearances by their side, but found themselves repeatedly being dragged away to discuss business with other Alpha’s. Many present were Alpha’s the triplets had already built contractual relationships with, so unfortunately they couldn’t be avoided. But Brielle didn’t mind, this was a celebration for Shadow. She would have plenty of time with the triplets as the night came to a close, the last few hours her sole focus was to have fun with Harlie and Scarlett. Brielle h

The next day, River and Brielle spent the morning fooling around in the sheets of their bed, neither being prepared to leave the loved-up cocoon they had engulfed themselves in. But finally, after what seemed to take every ounce of their inner strength, they managed to drag themselves out of bed and head back to Amaris in preparation of the celebratory ball being thrown in Brielle’s honour. Upon her return, and after squeezing in some time with Ryker and Reid, Brielle headed to her room to get ready for the evening with Harlie and Scarlett. “So.. how was it?!” Scarlett questioned as she wrapped her hair around the curling iron. “And do not spare any details, I'm living vicariously through you these days.” Brielle snorted, shaking her head at the gamma before setting down her lipstick and turning to meet two sets of eager eyes. She pressed her lips together, despite having just finished her makeup, and let a cheesy grin grow on her lips. "Do you remember when he told me I'd be begg

Brielle hurried to her room to gather her belongings, she wasn’t sure where she was going thanks to River’s vagueness but he had told her to grab some clothes for the morning, apparently they wouldn’t be returning tonight. The excitement was pumping through her, her hands racing through her wardrobe and grabbing the first thing she saw. He’d told her she was fine in what she was wearing, although she had decided to throw a pair of leggings on anyway. She didn’t quite fancy strolling through the castle in nothing but a tee again.“Come in,” Brielle called out as she heard a knock on her door. Harlie glided into the room with Scarlett following closely behind, before they both took a seat on Brielle’s unmade bed.Scarlett perched her brow as she watched Brielle throw random items into a bag. “And where do you think you’re going?” She teased.Brielle grinned, side eyeing her gamma. “River is taking me somewhere for the night, although I’m not sure where.” She tried to hide her excitement

Upon her return to Amaris, Brielle had spent the last day with her loved ones, cherishing the moments as much as she could. Scarlett and Reid had even managed to put their bickering to the side for the day, instead focusing on being grateful for Brielle’s safety. David and Sophia had returned to Shadow with their warriors earlier this afternoon, after displaying significant reluctance to ever leave Brielle’s side again. David only agreed to leave once he gave the triplets a stern talking to, reiterating that if his little girl so much as lost a single hair from her head moving forward, he’d cut off their prized possessions and feed them to Gladdis’ pythons. The triplets didn’t often feel threatened, but the look on David’s face told them he’d go to the ends of the world to follow through on his promise. The King and Queen had been absent most of the day, working with Gladdis on the appropriate punishment for Nimue. Under usual circumstances, she would fall under Gladdis’ jurisdicti

Leaving no time to spare, the moment the cloaking enchantment was broken, warriors in their wolf form dashed towards the dirty grey architecture. The charcoaled, grey building was clear as day to them now. It was hard to believe this three level building wasn’t visible to the eye merely moments ago. But the building wasn’t the only revelation following the breaking of the spell, dozens and dozens of rogues surrounded the scene staring back at the warriors in a dazed state. Under usual circumstances, the element of surprise would have always been a priority. But in this scenario, there wasn’t any choice. Seemingly, as the three groups continued to gain a closer advantage, the confused rogues swiftly began transitioning into their wolf counterparts. One by one, with no fear in the world, they charged towards the warriors. Where they lacked in strength and numbers, their feral state made up for. Death didn’t frighten them. King Nathaniel’s wolf, Roman, was the first the shed blood. Ch

“You’ll be split into three teams.” King Nathaniel announced to the sea of warriors before him. “We need to be able to remain in contact with each pack at all times, meaning the three packs need to be integrated. One will be led by myself, one will be led by the Blood Moon alpha’s and one will be led by David, Alpha Regent of Shadow.” David firmly nodded in the King’s direction, his game face never faltering as he folded his arms across his chest. Under usual circumstances, in Brielle’s absence, he would allow Harlie to step up as interim Alpha. But with his eldest’s life hanging in the balance, he couldn’t allow room for mistakes. “My group will take the west, River’s group will take east and David’s group will take south.” The King continued, surveying his eyes over the 300 hundred bodies. “Gladdis and the Fer Fung will be located north, in the neck of the forest. They will need to remove the cloaking enchantment placed on Zion’s hide out, but once this happens we have a matter of

Rivers grip on the steering wheel tightened as they drove through the Amaris gate. The uneasy feeling gathering in the pit of his stomach only worsened with each passing moment, further moments where Brielle was out of his grasp. They had come so close, so incredibly close to finally being together and just when he had her in his arms, she was snatched from beneath him. It was taking every ounce of his self-control to remain calm, although he was on the verge of snapping at any moment. Seven SUV’s filled with the best of Blood Moon’s warriors followed behind him and his brothers, each filled with angst and ready to eliminate the threat which stole their new alpha. They had never met Brielle, but she was one of them now. No one hurt one of their own. River forcefully yanked the handbrake as he parked outside the castle, not caring in the slightest that he wasn’t in a parking spot and instead had just pulled up anywhere.
