Aira's Point of View

I was surprised when he texted and asked to meet.

"Why did you want to talk here?" I asked him.

"To have some privacy," he replied simply.

"Maybe the bar isn't quiet enough," I retorted sarcastically.

"You're still grumpy," he observed.

I just looked at him and took a seat across from him. I poured myself a glass of wine.

"I thought you didn't care," he remarked.

I didn't answer, just sipped the wine I poured.

"So, you're wealthy?" he asked again.

"What now? Is that a reason to leave me?" I challenged boldly.

I felt emboldened enough to confront him after a few sips of wine.

"Why didn't you tell me? Do I not really know you, or were you just pretending all along?" he asked sharply.

He avoided my question.

"Why did you pretend to be poor just to get into my boutique?" I shot back.

"Who said I'm rich?" he replied, raising an eyebrow.
