Aira's Point of View

We were taken aback not by Meire's arrival but by the fact that she was with a man, especially Miguel — a surprise that hit me particularly hard, given the questions swirling in my mind. Why were they together? Why did Miguel never bid me farewell? Didn't Meire know about Miguel having a girlfriend, making her presence seem inappropriate?

"Your stare is pretty obvious," Raven whispered.

I blinked, diverting my gaze to the wine in front of me.

"Aren't you going to do something?" he prodded.

"What do you want me to do? Storm out? Confront them?" I replied sarcastically.

"Why not text him?" he suggested again.

"Do you think he's even looking at his phone right now?" I retorted.

"What are you going to do then? Just let it go?" he asked.

"As if I have any say in this," I sighed, getting up and walking away.
