**Miguel Ice's P.O.V**

"Mom, who is he?" I asked as I lay in the living room, startled by the presence of a man with my mother.

"I thought you were just going out to buy groceries tonight and tomorrow morning?" I inquired again.

Neither of them spoke. I couldn't decipher my mother's expression; she simply stared at me.

"What's going on, Mom?" I asked, feeling the man hug me while my mother began to cry.

What on earth was happening?

"Why is Mom crying? What's going on?" I gently released myself from the man's embrace and handed Mom a glass of water from the table.

"Sit down first and calm down, Mom," I urged her.

There was a long silence before Mom spoke again.

"He's your father," Mom said quietly.

"I know, Mom, but why is he here?" I asked, raising my voice.

"Son, please calm down first. Let me explain," Mom said, trying to soothe me.

"Your mom needs extensive medical treatment. I have to send her to the U.S. for her treatment to be completed. In exchange, you need to work with me. It will require a lot of money for her treatment, and you will have to contribute," my father suddenly interjected.

"Martin! Don't startle our son like this!" Mom exclaimed.

My father seemed about to respond, but I cut him off.

"If Mom needs treatment, I'll pay for it myself. I'll work for it, but not for you. You can leave. I'll take care of Mom," I replied firmly, shocked but resolute. I needed to be strong because Mom relied on me. The thought of Mom being ill pained me deeply. She had sacrificed so much for me, and now it was my turn to provide for her.

"I'm leaving to avoid causing more drama between you and your mother. Chel, remember our discussion. I hope you'll fulfill your end," he said to Mom before walking out the door.

I followed him to ensure he left.

"Let's leave this place, Mom. We can move to an apartment," I suggested, picking up her suitcase.

"It's not possible, son," Mom replied quietly.

"You need treatment, and we need a quiet life like you always wanted. I'll take care of you. I don't want anyone else's help," I insisted.

"Son, your father needs you," Mom said softly.

"We don't need him!" I retorted.

"But son—"

"Mom, we've managed on our own for so long. I was able to study well and graduate because of you. It's always been just you and me. Now, when I finally have the means to repay your sacrifices and hard work, he suddenly shows up? Who is he to us, to me?" I poured out my emotions, my voice trembling with barely restrained tears.

"He's your father, son," Mom replied quietly.

"He never acted like a father, so he's not my father. Shouldn't it be my decision if he's my father or not? Right, Mom?" I turned to her for affirmation.

Mom began to cry again, and I held her tightly in my arms. I loved Mom more than anything. She had been my rock, enduring hardships and making sacrifices so that I could have a better future.

Exhausted from crying, Mom soon fell asleep. I gently carried her to her room and arranged the items she had bought earlier.

Later, when Mom was calmer, I would confront her about what that man had said. I knew him—it had been a long time coming.

I had often caught glimpses of them conversing in hushed tones, packing up hastily afterward, moving to a new place without explanation. I had stopped questioning it long ago, but now I was stunned to find the tables turned. My father, a billionaire, was not someone I had expected my mother to seek help from.

**Third Person P.O.V**

Ice's mother wasn't actually ill. The story was fabricated as part of an arrangement.

Martin Santiago was one of the country's billionaires, inheriting the family business after numerous conflicts. His managerial prowess had significantly grown the company over five years. Despite his success, his greatest sorrow was his lack of a male heir.

Married for three years, Martin and his wife had a daughter in the first year. Concerned about succession, Martin pressed for another child. Years of trying proved futile, leaving his daughter as the sole heir to his empire—a point of contention within the company.

His distress led him to make rash decisions, even contemplating ending his daughter's life. Learning they had moved without a trace, he hired investigators to find them. Upon discovering they had a son, Martin begged to acknowledge him, but his wife continually evaded him.

Eventually, he resigned himself to their absence, distancing himself emotionally. From afar, he monitored their lives, aware of his son's achievements. When Ice applied for a position at a rival company, Martin orchestrated a plan to bring them together, urging his former secretary to contact them.

Meanwhile, Ice's mother collapsed from exhaustion and was admitted to a hospital. Upon awakening, she couldn't recall why she was there, only remembering her disappointment when Ice didn't show up.

Worried about social stigma and judgment, she feared Ice's rejection upon discovering her background. She sought solace in a stranger's concern, contemplating the repercussions if Ice learned of her connections to wealth and power.

**Miguel's P.O.V** "You look beautiful," I thought to myself as I faced her. "Huh?" she replied, catching me off guard. "H-huh? Oh, nothing. I meant to say it's a beautiful day today. Doesn't look like it's going to rain," I said, trying to cover my embarrassment. I blurted it out in front of her, feeling awkward. It's been two weeks since I started working here at her boutique as a sales supervisor. I handle visiting suppliers, making lists, purchasing materials, and managing inventory. She's given me a thorough introduction to everything and I just need to finish a few more paperwork. She personally trained me on what I needed to know. She's kind, soft-spoken, and, above all, incredibly beautiful. Her refined appearance suggests she's from a wealthy background. Despite her social demeanor, she finds joy in simple things—like my lame jokes that seem to amuse her. "Since I've started working with you, you haven't thrown me a welcome party yet. **Miguel's P.O.V** "Mom, please keep me updated always," I begged Mom. I couldn't call her 'Mama' anymore, as per one of my father's conditions. It's not what I want, but I have to comply. Mom and I went to the hospital for her check-up, seeking a second opinion, but the diagnosis remained unchanged. I've been pondering everything these past few days, including my work, which I've neglected. I'd give up anything for Mom. I've noticed subtle changes in her movements, so I've made the decision that's best for her. "Sir, we'll take good care of Ma'am. Mr. Martin is waiting for you at his house," the attendant said. I glanced at him grimly and hugged Mom tightly. We held that embrace for ten minutes. I didn't see Mom cry; she reminded me to be strong, that men don't cry. We laughed together, promising to face everything together after these trials. Regarding my job, I knew it was improper to resign via text message, but I couldn't bring myself to face him. **Miguel's P.O.V** "Your son is your heir," the board stated. "He's smart and young. I hope he exceeds how I was at his age," Daddy remarked. Since starting work here, all that's been done is constant comparison and high expectations. I've never had my own identity; they expect me to match or surpass Dad. Well, that's life. I'm always punctual. I follow Mama's instructions faithfully because she knows what Dad likes and dislikes. Mom used to be Dad's secretary. Dad was already married with a child when they met. Mom never had malicious intentions; she simply sought to support Dad during his tough times. Even though Mom never spoke of her struggles, she chose empathy over probing. "Sir Miguel, excuse me," my secretary interrupted. I have my own office and secretary now, with a salary four times higher than my first job's initial pay. "Yes?" I responded. "Your dad is asking for next month's budget plan and progress report," my secretary informed me. "I've already emailed it to

Aira's Point of View The venue was bustling with noise and cameras, focused on every person arriving and entering. "This is insane. Gosh," I muttered to myself. We attended a grand gathering of global elites, where everyone boasted about their achievements and wealth. "Dad, can I leave early after the program?" I asked. "Give your father this whole night, Aira; don't spoil it," Mom replied curtly. I simply sighed. In this family, my voice doesn't matter. Everything I say seems to be against their wishes. I remained quiet, taking my place at the family-assigned table. Dad sat beside my sister, then me, and Meriam next to me. On the other side were brother and Ken, while Mom sat opposite Dad. From a distance, we looked like a happy and content family—a picture-perfect family image. "Always comparing!" a man exclaimed when he saw my dad. "Good to see you. Where's wife?" Dad replied, engaging in business talk before greeting other businessmen. He introduced us one by one, and we

Third Person's Point of View At the conclusion of their encounter at the grand gathering, Ice was left with a profound question lingering in his mind. He pondered about the Villanuevas and whether the person he loved, apart from his mother, and the girl he had seen the previous night were truly one and the same. He was undercover during the investigation, having secretly uncovered everything, unaware that someone else was also aware of his plans. His father was present, observing every move and even the slightest breath of Ice, his gaze fixed solely on him. "I called you earlier; why only now?" his father queried. "I just finished up a lot before I did what you asked me to do next," Ice replied. "I'm not pressuring you. I just wanted to have a moment with my son, just the two of us. Do you have a girlfriend? What do you think of Mr. James's son?" his father asked, making a lengthy inquiry. "That girl? Clumsy. She's not my type, Dad," Ice answered bluntly. "What is your type the

Aira's Point of View I was surprised when he texted and asked to meet. "Why did you want to talk here?" I asked him. "To have some privacy," he replied simply. "Maybe the bar isn't quiet enough," I retorted sarcastically. "You're still grumpy," he observed. I just looked at him and took a seat across from him. I poured myself a glass of wine. "I thought you didn't care," he remarked. I didn't answer, just sipped the wine I poured. "So, you're wealthy?" he asked again. "What now? Is that a reason to leave me?" I challenged boldly. I felt emboldened enough to confront him after a few sips of wine. "Why didn't you tell me? Do I not really know you, or were you just pretending all along?" he asked sharply. He avoided my question. "Why did you pretend to be poor just to get into my boutique?" I shot back. "Who said I'm rich?" he replied, raising an eyebrow. Why were we arguing like this? Why did every question we ask each other lead to another question? Did we meet just to

Aira's Point of View "Giiirl, what's wrong?" Raven exclaimed as she arrived at the office. I frowned because it irritated me how talkative she could be with me, yet so rude with others. "What's up?" I asked her. "Someone booked the VIP room last night, and they said you were in there. Who is he, and what happened?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "It's Miguel," I replied simply. "Whaaaat?" she exclaimed again. I sat her down and explained everything, how it happened. She could hardly believe I did that, especially not knowing why he left me. I didn't dwell on it because his apology seemed sincere, and he said he still loved me. "Waaaait. Is that really it? After he left you without a word, you just agreed because he said he loved you, but he couldn't stand up for you. What are you, Aira?" Raven exclaimed, bewildered. "I love him," I replied simply. "I don't get you women; you're weak when it comes to love. It's annoying," she said, then stormed out. It was true. When it came

Aira's Point of View "Why did you call us?" I asked Dad. "Your brother called you, not me," Dad replied. I sat at the table and noticed my brother coming down from the top of the mansion. "What's going on?" Ken asked. "Oh, Aira, you're here. I'm getting married," Jan announced. We were all surprised by my brother's news, except Mom and Dad. "Dad, did you know about this?" Meire asked. "And Mom?" Ken followed up. Dad just smiled, Ken clapped his hands in excitement, and Meire congratulated her brother. "Congratulations, Jan," she said. "Congratulations, bro," Ken chimed in. "Congratulations, brother," Meire added. "Congrats, bro," I simply greeted him. "It's early congrats, but thank you. That's why I called you all; I'm about to propose, and while it's not a sure thing, I want you all there, and I'll throw an engagement party afterward," Jan explained enthusiastically. **Miguel’s Point of View**I don't know if I should be happy that Aira agreed to marry me, even though we won't be getting married this year. Her parents want a grand wedding since it’s also a celebration of the merging of two major companies, the Villanueva Group of Companies and Santiago Enterprises. What can I do if that’s what they want? They also don’t want any negative comments about our wedding because of Abby’s post about our supposed wedding. That would get more attention than our actual wedding.“Don’t be sad! We’ll still get married, not now but I’m sure I’ll marry you and no one else,” Aira cheered me up.I smiled at her. “Just promise me you'll marry me and no one else, okay?” I reassured her.She raised her hand with the ring. “This is not just a simple ring. This is a promise ring. This symbolizes our promised wedding.” She kissed me, probably to stop me from worrying.Aira and I are currently at a resort in Palawan. We have the island to ourselves, so we have plenty of

**Miguel's Point of View**Aira and I were lying on my bed. She was resting her head on my arm as I gently stroked her hair. I never imagined I would feel this way again. I never thought we would reach this point in our lives again, where we could be together without worrying about other problems. Some people might say our relationship is too typical. Coming from feuding families, both products of broken homes, and both children born out of wedlock, but none of that became a hindrance. Instead, it allowed us to understand each other better."How many children do you want?" Aira asked me while looking at me.I smiled at her and thought for a moment. "I want more than four, I think. I want them to have many siblings so they won't feel lonely and will have playmates. I want them to be each other's best friends," I answered happily. She frowned, making me raise an eyebrow. "I already told you that I don't want to have many children. Besides not being sure if my womb can handle it, I don't

**Miguel's Point of View**I was happy to go home after bringing Abby to a facility. I took her child to her mom. I didn't tell Aira what was happening because I wanted to surprise her.Auntie was shocked when I arrived with Abby's child. They thought I had taken the child without permission, so they immediately went to check on her. Auntie was very thankful because, finally, her daughter came to her senses. She chose to get better and free herself and others.Even though it was a bit difficult, I was always thankful that it was finally over. Now, all I need to focus on is my dad's company. I don't know what's going on within his family. The only thing Cheska told me was the frequent fighting between Daddy and his wife, and even she doesn't know the reason.Dad prepared everything before he surrendered to the police. He also arranged to transfer his shares to my name. Cheska was also left with some shares. Dad's buildings, farms, and small businesses were divided among us. Dad left ma

**Miguel Ice's Point of View**"Finish that later, eat first," Abby said as she entered my office at her house.I didn't want to, but for my mother's peace of mind, I did what she wanted. Mama has a soft heart, especially for children who beg."I'm not hungry." Since I started living here, I couldn't even look at her. She could touch me, but I wanted to push her away, yet I couldn't because of pity. She's fine at home, attentive, and caring for her child. I used to enjoy playing with her child, who she introduced to me as "Tito-Daddy." Playing with the child made me happy, but when I married her because of her threats, their affection for me disappeared. Let's just say the child shouldn't be involved, but he's a significant reason why Mama pleaded with me."How long will you be like this? I'm your wife, but you treat me like a mere pawn!" She started arguing again. She's often like this, but I ignored her. I let her say whatever she wanted."You won't talk to me again, and then what?

**Aira Jane’s Point of View**After what happened between Miguel and me, we haven't seen each other again. I left that night while he was asleep and didn't say goodbye to Mama."What if your half-sister finds out? It'll just cause more trouble, Aira!" Raven told me. I had a headache when I arrived at work; it's tough pretending everything is okay."How would she know if no one tells her? Miguel probably won't say anything either," I replied, resting my head on the table."Oh, come on! You never learn! If you're not going to fight for Miguel, then stop giving in to your feelings. Honestly, you're being unfair.""Why me? Why am I the one being unfair? Isn't it him?" I asked her, surprised."Tsk." Raven rolled her eyes, leaving me confused about what she meant."Imagine, you just accept their explanations without expressing how you feel inside! Do you think that's right? Do you think that's not unfair to Miguel? He's fighting and doing what he can to solve the problems. While you, you ju

**Aira Jane’s Point of View**I didn't go back to the mansion. They wouldn't look for me anyway. I'll sleep here at Mama's house. She doesn't have anyone with her, and besides, we were both tired from shopping and wandering around the mall. It was already 11 PM when we got home."Sigh, this is my third day in this room, the second time I'll sleep here," I whispered to myself as I flopped onto the soft bed."Aira, dear?" Mama knocked on the door of the room. I got up, but Mama had already entered the room. "I just want to know if you're going to eat. If you are, I'll cook something for you. What do you want? Miguel is coming home, and I cooked some soup since he called drunk." I quickly sat up."Ma, can I go home?" I asked Mama."Why? Are you avoiding Miguel?" Mama's question left me speechless. I didn't know, but I couldn't be with Miguel when someone else was watching. I felt like Miguel and I were using them to deceive Abby, which I didn't want. I didn't want to use others just to b

Aira Jane’s Point of View“What time is it?” I heard Miguel ask.“It’s afternoon, almost five. How did you sleep? Are you hungry?” I asked with concern.I dozed off while watching him, but the heat made it hard to sleep again. Miguel, on the other hand, was deeply asleep; he looked exhausted. “I’m sorry if I disturbed you,” he said, asking for my forgiveness.“It’s nothing, just make sure this doesn’t happen again.” I stood up from the tent, but he stopped me. “Sit down first; let’s talk.” I looked at him and started to sit back down.“Can you go home and stay with Mom?” He surprised me with that question.“Why? Did something happen to Mom?” I asked worriedly.“Nothing happened; I’m just worried she’s alone there. I’m always at work, and when I come home, it’s usually to Abby's house. You know her, right? She always exhausts herself.”“Sounds like you.” I whispered, raising an eyebrow at him. “Alright, I’ll try to bring her to the condo. I’ll do my best.” I replied simply.“Thank you

**Aira Jane’s Point of View**“It looks like you’re in a good mood today. Have you and Miguel reconciled?” Meriam asked me with enthusiasm.I continued walking towards the dining area, ignoring her because I didn’t want any commotion to disturb my beautiful morning. I woke up feeling light, as if all my worries had vanished. I wasn’t sure if it was because I realized Miguel truly loves me and I’m still his safe haven, or if it was because I had spent almost the entire night with him.“Did you know you’re trending again? Ever since you started dating Miguel, you’ve never left social media. You’re always the topic of conversation.” She followed me while saying all this. I turned to her and replied, “You know, Meriam, after all this time we’ve been living, aren’t you used to being talked about by others? Their opinions don’t matter to me, unlike yours.” I said it sharply without even looking at her.“Really? What if the topic now is your boyfriend marrying his fling? Doesn’t that matter

**Aira’s Point of View**Three weeks later,"What did you say?" I asked Ken again. He had shared some news that I could hardly believe."Yes. My brother-in-law left the company to help his sister Cheska run their own business because their father surrendered to the police. I don't know the other reasons, but one thing is certain: my brother-in-law has left us," Ken said sadly."I can't do anything about that. If he wants to go, then let him be. It might even be good for him; he knows a lot about our company that he could use for theirs or to undermine us.""That's not how my brother-in-law is, ate. You know that!" I shrugged and walked out of the mansion. He has no gratitude. After being fully accepted by Dad, he just leaves for the person who caused our problems before. I might be trying to forget what happened, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgiven him. They say you can’t truly forget until you learn to forgive."Here you are again," Raven commented when she saw me in the bar."As far
