Kylie

I was hesitant to give Jacob an answer. My mind was contemplating why he would warn me about this.

Although Larry’s personality and character are already clear to me—he’s ruthless and merciless. And now, knowing that he cannot accept defeat just adds up. He’s the Lycan King for a reason. Of course, he’s used to nothing but victory.

However, I know something about him for sure. He somehow looks out for important people in his life. Just like how he punished those rogues for me, even though violence was still present, it won’t change the fact that he cares.

“Do you understand?”

I wasn’t able to answer Jacob’s question.

“I know you do. You may be confused right now, but trust me and remember this when we get there,” Jacob added.

And because of that I was feeling anxious, my stomach twisting in nervousness as we made our way to where Larry requested an immediate meeting.

Jacob was the one who opened the door for us and let me enter first. Everyone was shut, and the deafening silence

KylieWatching the corner of his lips twitching, the sound of Larry's hand as he clapped caused the wide smirk I had to vanish completely. He kept on clapping until my brows furrowed in confusion.“Hurting their Alpha? I’m impressed, Kylie. Really,” Larry sarcastically convinced, continuously nodding. “But how would you explain what Carlo said? It’s not about what you contributed.” He shrugged. “Because here in our Pack, no one did enough until we won.”I stood still in my place, biting my lower lip that almost bled with shame, replacing the victory I had just felt a while ago. Larry managed to make me feel ashamed of the things I said in just a snap of a second. It was like he knew how to manipulate people really well.“Your courage and strength to hurt their Alpha is nothing if you’re crying towards the death of an enemy.”Larry’s last statement was pinned onto my head the whole day after the meeting. I couldn’t function nor even pay my daughter a visit.I was ashamed of myself.Th

LoganSeeing her standing beside Jacob Williams right in front of me, on the battlefield, made my chest ache with a feeling I would forever deny. All this time, I convinced myself to believe I had no affection left for her. But witnessing her standing full of pride and confidence beside another man to support my biggest enemy made me rot in jealousy.I couldn’t help but think that she was supposed to be on my side, the one supporting me in taking the Lycan Pack down, but what happened was most likely the contrary. The war had begun with a single flick of my fingers. I can already sense victory coming our way because beating the Lycan Pack was my only goal and why I wanted to save our Pack in the first place. Because how would we be able to take them down if we cannot even stand against them? All the pain and remorse I’ve endured should pay off by crushing them down. With the scream of anger along with the squeal of pain filling everyone’s ear, my eyes locked with Kylie watching her st

LoganI woke up with Lucas standing beside the bed I was lying on, while a Pack doctor was seated on my left side. Raising my left arm, the Pack doctor examined my left elbow, which was wounded by Kylie’s dagger.“It’s fully healed, isn’t it?”“Yes, Alpha.”“I think I’m good,” I said, sitting upright, seeing him digging into his briefcase where tools and medication were placed. The heavy feeling I was having back in the mountains was now nothing and I felt so much better.“We need to take out the remaining wolfsbane before it can cause further damage to your wolf, Alpha,” the Pack doctor announced.Without even waiting for my response, he took out a six-inch syringe. I could only respond with a nod. The Pack doctor then inserted the syringe right into my healed wound. My jaw clenched with the pain I managed to encounter. This kind of pain isn’t even comparable to what Kylie had brought me when she stabbed me her dagger tied with wolfsbane.Just after making sure there was no wolfsbane

LoganMy brain failed to grasp what Hanna said, staring at her wet face with tears, while I was completely stunned.“Lucas will replace you, Logan.”I’ve never thought of nor even seen Lucas as my rival for the throne. Since we were kids, I had always been transparent with him about how much I dreamed of leading the Pack, even to my parents, especially to my father. Because, unlike every other Pack wherein if the Alpha’s son ends up twins, they both can be the Alphas to lead the Pack, this doesn't apply to our pack.In contrast, the very first Pack elders and officials believed having two Alphas to lead a Pack would only result in disruption in the Pack's governance. Although Lucas and I were both addressed as Alphas, seen as Alphas, and respected like Alphas, only one can step up and actually lead the Pack. And that’s me. That's why I can never lose my place. Not on my watch.Seated on my throne, which I had no idea how long would last to be mine, I watched the Pack elders and a few

Logan“When do I even turn my back on you? I have trusted you with the throne, Logan, isn’t that enough to prove how much I see your potential?” his voice was braided with pleas. My father’s lips were downward, with his eyes filled with disappointment.Every single day, I’ve strived not to give him a chance to feel that. I never wanted to disappoint him. But today’s different. If he was wrecked when Mom left us, then how about Lucas and me?We knew nothing about the world at that age! He had us believe Mom had gone on a special vacation without us. Lucas and I always spend the night in the Pack’s lobby, peeking through the windows, waiting for her; hoping that we were the first thing she’s going to be seeing as soon as she comes back home. But no Mom had come back. We’ve never gotten tired of waiting, but as we grew up, we realized there was no Mom that would come back because she was slaughtered by that Lycan King Larry. So, anyone who might convince me to just forgive them without a

Kylie“Jacob,” I called him once again. As soon as he turned around to face me, I was able to see whoever was behind him and with whom he was arguing. Surprisingly, I wasn’t expecting her to be with Jacob late this night outside the Packhouse.Dianna.My eyes were locked with hers, which didn’t last any longer. Her lips formed into a smirk before she tiptoed, reaching out her right hand to Jacob’s nape and pulling him for a kiss.I was glued to my place, watching Dianna’s lips crushing Jacob’s as she mumbled soft moans while her eyes were side-eyeing me. A rush of memories I wanted to get away from my mind started to replay. My lips were parted open and started to tremble along with my lids turning heavy because of tears that threatened to fall any second. The exact pain was present when I saw Hanna seated on Logan’s lap as she crushed her lips to his.Betrayal and anger. However, this time I aim to make a difference. KylieArriving at the clinic, Lydia was holding Freya while I stayed behind her as we made our way to where the doctor’s office was. She’s the same doctor who did my checkups when I was pregnant with Freya as well. After knocking, a nurse opened the door for us. I let Lydia step inside first, but when it was my turn to walk inside, I caught a glimpse of someone familiar passing by through my peripheral vision. It wasn’t just someone familiar. But rather someone who has been messing with my head since last night. My feet didn’t take a step forward, and I quickly scanned my eyes around. But there was no Dianna that I was able to see. Is it possible that I was hallucinating because I was thinking about all the things that she said too much last night?“Kylie,” the doctor’s gentle voice interrupted. “Come on in.”Fortunately, after checking up on Freya, the doctor assured me it was nothing serious. She explained that it was possible that Freya’s skin had just come into contact with pathog

KylieDianna’s here? And she wanted to talk to Larry?I was glued to my place until Carlo shut the door and its sound echoed through my ears, jolting me awake. As if I was on cue, my feet hastily made their way closer to the door. Placing my palms flat onto its surface, I angled my head before leaning forward until my left ear was pinned on the door.Eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation isn’t my thing, but this caught my attention enough.“Dianna, my dear. What is it that brought you back here? As far as I know, you and my son were long over,” Larry’s voice was gentle and slower, as if Dianna was some kind of Princess to him that he couldn’t afford to hurt her feelings.“Jacob’s being an asshole to me, Uncle. I don’t know what to do anymore. He won’t believe me!”I couldn’t see Dianna’s face through the door I was snooping at, but her frustrated voice was enough for me to get a clear picture of her face in my mind.“But I’ve got all the damn proofs here with me. KylieFeeling every bit of wrath rushing hastily through my veins, I raised my right hand and threw my straightened palm across Dianna’s cheek. For the second time, she was caught off guard by my slap that rang in the packhouse’s living room.“You fucking—” Her mouth was immediately shut as my other palm hit her cheek two times in a row.I was furiously shaking with my heart pounding. I was holding back too much hatred and pain in my chest. This is the only way I could think of getting it out. When Dianna lifted her face back up, I saw how tears welled in her reddish eyes. Her palms were in a tight fist with her heavy and rapid breathing.“You deserve to lose your child,” Dianna slowly utters, her teeth gritting. She may have failed to hurt me physically by slapping me back, but she definitely broke me with her slapping words. I was stunned for a couple of moments, unable to process what I just heard. My chest became heavier, and I needed to place my palm over my sinking heart. The

KylieA suppressed squeal got out of my lips with another inflamed strike of lightning sharply lashing through. My eyes automatically closed as its bright electrical bolt blinded my vision. The thrumming pour of rain made my entire body quiver with so much coldness. A howling noise was heard from the breezy wind that blew. It was so strong that even my drenched hair had flown. Before I knew it, a set of warm, big arms swaddled me tight. With the amount of comfort they brought, I was left with no choice but to snuggle into Jacob’s homely and toasty embrace. His bare upper body made it even better for my trembling flesh. His grasp was tight enough to shield me from the iciness of the air and the rain that continued to fall. My face was buried in the corner of his neck and shoulder, sniffing his earthly manly scent. It’s not just about how his warmth brought the chilliness of my body at ease. But as long as I remained in his tight embrace, I knew I was forever safe and wouldn’t be able t

KylieMy eyes widened in shock as I felt Logan's lips brushing against mine. I parted my lips open, not to welcome his kisses, but rather to protest. However, Logan seemed to read my thoughts, and he crushed his lips against mine before I could utter a word.I was stuck in my place, unable to move a muscle with my stammering chest and chill running through my veins.Logan’s kisses started soft, delicate, and unhurried, which didn’t last long as they eventually became rigid and torrid. His hands that were pinning my hands onto the tree loosened.I should have, and I could have already pushed him away. But as if I was possessed, I let him do whatever he wanted for that brief moment. I know I look like a fool standing before him, waiting for his lips to conquer mine fully. But everything felt so different. It was as if I was facing the Logan I used to love—the Logan I gave myself to.My teeth almost pierce his lower lip while his palms playfully knead my breast. With my eyes shut, a rush

KylieLogan shifted his eyes on me and upon seeing me helplessly kneeling, his jaw was clenched before a smirk formed into his lips.My heart was flaming, and my chest was heavy. The melancholy darkness filling the room won’t be able to express how crushed I felt at that moment; unable to do anything to save my daughter. This was my fault.Blood splattered across my face. He didn’t stop piercing Freya with his claws until her sobs halted. Not hearing my daughter’s painful wail made me realize that her own father had killed her. With the heavens and hell suppressing me harder, a loud and throbbing shriek came out of my quivering lips.An uncontrollable amount of anger was filling my nerves. My palms, which were in a tight fist, started to bring me pain because my nails were replaced by my claws. It pierced my own flesh, but I was too numb to even react to the pain.Logan shattered me into pieces when he decided to banish me and chose Hanna to be his Luna. But I rose up because that’s

KylieI was stunned, staring blankly into his eyes, which turned softer in an instant. The soreness and brittleness of his voice kept on ringing into my mind.Did I just hear him ask me to choose him? He doesn’t seem to understand what he’s doing.A man like Logan was never used to rejection. But asking me to choose him while using our daughter as a threat is ridiculous. Logan’s eyes glistened with tears welling up in them. I waited for him to take back what he said, thinking it was just his wolf’s fault, but he added, “You heard me right.”And what about Hanna? She was the root of all of our chaos. Hanna was the reason why I was banished. Or is it because the arranged marriage would be over soon, just like what he promised me back then? The need to voice those thoughts was present, but the courage to do so was nowhere to be found.I’m afraid to ask for anything. I was afraid because I knew he was never there for me when I needed answers. Logan didn’t choose me before; why is he aski

KylieLogan's steps were quick and big, but I forced my legs to stride bigger to keep up with him. My eyes were fixed on his back, and I felt my chest pounding every second that passed. He entered Freya’s room and left the door ajar. It was as if he really wanted me to follow him. When my feet landed inside the room, I caught Logan already standing in front of the glass window.“What are you planning?” As soon as my shaky voice echoed inside the room, he was forced to look back at me with a devilish smirk on his lips.“You’re too fast,” he uttered, tilting his head to the left.Blazing yet dark, his eyes went up to my head and down to my toes. Logan clicked his tongue before he turned back to face the window behind him and threw his clenched fist at it. The glass window shattered into pieces.“Logan!” I squealed, afraid that Freya might get hurt by the tiny pieces of glass. He indeed looked back, which I immediately regretted as he began lowly growling. My feet automatically took a st

KylieThe other twenty warriors that were inside the training hall were commanded by Jacob to surround the packhouse. We didn’t get any answer from Hanna on how many members they brought. But we have no choice but to take our chances. We at least got to try.“Don’t hesitate to kill anyone you’ve come across. There were no exceptions. Not even their almighty Alpha,” Jacob had made it clear for the third time now.Allan and Bianca volunteered to lead the twenty warriors to the backdoors, which the Eclipse Pack couldn't have known. While Carlo, Larry, and the other two warriors who were keeping Hanna came with us.A piece of cloth was gagged into Hanna’s mouth to refrain her from making any sound as we made our way back to the Pack’s mansion. The silence that rang through the corners of the mansion made my thumping heart worse. We have no idea what awaits us inside. As soon as we all made it inside after stepping into the double doors, the light suddenly flicked open. Every light was tur

KylieI remained shut, trying to figure out who the familiar voice was. But it didn’t last longer as I was forcibly twisted. Because her hand was gripping both my arms, it was a lot easier for her to control me.There was no hint of surprise on my face upon realizing it was Hanna.Although she had a twin sister, I didn’t need to think twice because only Hanna would have the means to come for me and do this.“Hey, Hanna,” I playfully mocked. “Did you make it as Logan’s Luna? I bet the Pack is yet to recover, hmm?” I leaned in closer to her, and spat, “Because you’re still by his side like a puppet.”Her teeth gritted and she held my arms tighter. It caused me pain, but I couldn’t pay any attention. She was the reason why I was banished in the first place. Logan and I were getting along until she came acting as if she was someone significant... Well, she is, because she's got everything Logan wanted his Luna to have; wealth, and title, which I don't.Aside from the fact that she’s nothi

My every move was quiet and light as I tried to maintain eye contact with the three of them, disregarding my racing heartbeats.“Who are you? What do you need?” I asked with the hope it would somewhat distract them. But like a hungry lion with his prey, their eyes were locked with mine.My unsteady knees were making it hard for me to continue to step away, but I kept going until I felt my hips hit against the kitchen counter. My hands scanned through the top of it, searching for anything to use against them. There were three muscular and tall men in front of me. No matter how skilled I am at fighting, I will end up losing. After my hands didn’t feel anything placed on the counter, my heart thumped harder.I just need something. Just something! I was shaking so badly as my hands traced down the handle of the drawer of the counter.Praying to the Moon Goddess was the only thing I had in mind or else I hoped miracles would hap
