Hollis and his brothers left, as he said, later in the day. I spent a chunk of the day, dialing my father's phone and sending him messages. But he refused to neither pick up my calls nor reply to my messages.

Same thing he's been doing for a while now. There were lots of things I needed to sort out. Like why does Hugh think I'm in danger, and why would my father approach Fredrick of all people to help save me?

Fredrick isn't even on the list of my friends and I haven't seen him for years now. So, how come Hugh was so sure my father reached out to Fredrick on my behalf?

When it was obvious my father wasn't going to pick his calls, I called my mother instead, and she explained that my father was out of the state at the moment on a project he was working on at his new place of work.

"What sort of project is that?" I asked.

"Construction baby." She replied.

"How come you're just mentioning this?" I asked my Mom.
