Something Is Wrong

Hugh seemed very relaxed while speaking, making me wonder why.

"Hugh you’re scaring me," I admitted to his hearing, my voice slightly shaky.

He shifted from his initial spot. "I'm trying not to give our guard any reason to suspect a thing." He replied calmly. "You should do the same.

I nodded and flashed a smile that was in no way close to my heart.

"We have to leave tonight," Hugh thought out loud.

I adjusted in my seat, startled at his words. "We’re not going anywhere."

"You need to pack a bag. We have to leave tonight. One of the night guards usually falls asleep against the tree. We’ll sneak past him when he does and follow the road from the woods and flag someone down on the highway. We’ll have to hitch a ride out of here. It's for your own safety."
