The joy that was coursing through me was boundless. Every cell in my body was bursting with happiness. The main reason for my happiness being the fact that I talked to Jake.

He listened and trusted me.

My heart drummed musically in the confines of my chest at the memory of his lips on mine. The way he claimed my lips had my stomach fluttering with moths. His lips tasted the same as six years ago. His scent did unimaginable things to me, just like it used to six years ago. The feel of his warm hands on my cheeks as he cupped my face had my knees weakening.

Only he had the power to make me feel this way. Only he could make me smile even when all hope seemed lost. Gazing into his cerulean orbs drove comfort all over my initially tensed being. I was still in love with him more than ever.
