He sat behind a massive mahogany office table on a leather black seat. His back was leaned on the seat's backrest, his arms settled on each side of the armrest. His gaze settled on me as I took hesitant steps towards him.

The cold heart-piercing gaze he gave had it all that he was not in for any nonsense. My Jake had grown. Seeing him that close after six years felt like a blessing. I missed him so much that I wanted to bury myself under his bulky chest.

I wondered how he felt as I approached him, maybe hatred, pain, or disgust. Seeing Harriet in the palace and actually her being close to Jake, meant that she had fed him with lies. I didn't expect him to trust me, but the urge to tell him the whole truth was pushing me.

I stopped right in front of the table. I didn't care to sit. His eyes averted from me and he rested them on the door.

He held his hand up and began rubbing his sharp jawline. That made me explore his face, God, he had grown to be more handsome and manly.
