The next day at lunch, I told Layla and Alex all about how Jerry asked me out. "Oh my, Jerry?! That cute-looking prep? I would never have guessed." Alex said while poking me in the ribs playfully.
"I know, right? Now I am really excited to look for dresses for homecoming." I said happily. Who knew my day could have turned out to be so perfect?
Layla smiled knowingly. She has been forcing me to be excited about homecoming previously but now that I truly am, she began getting busier with preparations. We were going to go shopping soon and I couldn't wait.
Meanwhile, Liz was going to go overseas to meet with her family. I felt happy for her. She has been working in my household for many years ago and it was time for her to spend some time with them in Australia.
I felt the warm sunlight against my skin. Where was I? I wondered. It felt too warm and I didn't know why. Frowning, I tried to stretch my legs. However, my legs were stuck under something... or someone. Wait, I can't seem to recall what happened last night. Don't tell me I did something I regret. Liz wasn't here to help me.Finally, I opened my eyes. My familiar yellow wallpaper, with matching wooden furniture greeted me. Phew! I let out a sigh of relief. I was in my bedroom, silly me. I was wearing my favorite black tank top and some shorts. But what was this big and uncomfortable weight over my legs? I looked up and froze. Vince was fast asleep, his arms around my waist and our legs were tangled together. It took
Clutching the note in my hand, my mind was spinning. What was this about? My feet were rooted to the spot, frozen, unable to move a muscle. Panic seized me in every pore in my body. My knees suddenly felt as if they were hovering on air, reading to collapse at any time.Breathe, Amanda. It is just a note, we need to find out who wrote this and for what purpose, my thoughts in my head calmed my racing heart. I knew this voice was right. Suppressing my terror, I read the note again, studying it closely. The note was carefully typed out, leaving no traces of who must have put it there. Was this note addressed to me or Vince? Or both of us? I shivered and suddenly felt as if I was being watched. Was I? I was scared out of my wits, casually glancing around the windows but I saw nothing out of the ordinary. I decided to move into my bed
I should've been tired from all the drama but my body has been functioning weird lately. I was actually energetic, and I couldn't wait to see Vince and ask him about it.For the next period, which was Art, Vince was nowhere to be seen, as usual. I felt disappointed but just shrugged it off. I didn't even remember him turning up once for this class geez. Why would he come today?I ended up getting paired with Chloe."Do you want to do the tracing first?" Chloe asked, holding a pencil in one hand and a drawing we were supposed to be doing in another."Sure. it's faster that way." I agreed. Quickly, we completed the sketches of some landscapes together."Good work, bot
"That, my friend, is completely out of the question," Layla said, staring at me and crossing her arms. She spoke loudly and passionately, which made some heads turn and stare at us with questioning looks. She was pretty loud sometimes, but that was what I love about her."Why not? That black dress is rather new and I've only worn it once." I said defensively. Hey, I really liked that dress! It was a gift from someone. That someone..."To a funeral." She added, peering down into my face, her unibrow puckering in that way of hers. It was pretty amusing and I lost my train of thought. We were seated in the crowded cafeteria. I have left a seat for Alex, just in case he decided to come by today. However, luck was not on my side. It was definitely difficult for him, and I wonder if he would even speak to Layla again to clear the air.Oh well.I guess I needed to give him some privacy.Speaking of privacy, Layla was taking no prisoners
Ryker's car was a silver BMW, with plush leather lining the seats invitingly. He must be really well-off. Idly, I wondered if it was from his dad. There was also the smell of an expensive aroma in the car, which reminded me of fresh lilies in bloom. A really nice smell, I thought to myself.Despite all my protests, he managed to put me in the passenger seat in one piece. He looked pleased with himself and gave me a reassuring smile.Shutting the door at my side with a final slam, he sauntered to the driver's seat and locked the doors. Uh oh.I felt utterly at his mercy. I had no idea how he talked me into this "date". What was going to happen tonight? It's time for me to find out.
The first thing I noticed was the lanterns. Yeah. Like the freaking lanterns out of everything. They were hanging brilliantly, illuminating the square. There was enough light to see at least the near objects but there was also an element of mystery to it. That wasenough to make me quiver in fear.It was as if they were warning me of something that will happen."Close your eyes, kitten." Vince said, walking beside me casually with his hands in his pockets. He still gave no clues to our destination."Where are we going?" I asked, even though I knew he would definitely not tell me. I gulped. Don't tell me he is going to kidnap me. I'll freak out.The people that were in the distan
My mind was spinning. What did it mean by finish what we started? Was it...the cake?"Let's eat the cake now." I said, smiling. That must be what he meant right?I haven't eaten the cake yet. It was delightful, a frosted vanilla cake. How did he know I liked vanilla? I thought to myself idly, but a blush rose onto my cheeks."No cake, kitten, no cake," Vince said slowly, pronouncing every word clearly. His brown eyes looked darker than usual as he looked into my eyes and bit his lip. Oh god, why did he have to do this to me? My heart started pounding rapidly. He dragged me to the back of the room until we entered what I assumed was the washroom.I was confused. What was it?
Vince's POV Thump. Thump. Thump. My ears were met by this unpleasant rattling sound which jolted me awake unexpectedly. Where was I? In the unclear darkness, there were no answers. But one thing was certain. It was unfamiliar, and nothing that I'd experienced before. My eyes flickered open. Blinking my eyes, I still couldn't see anything. It was completely pitch-black like I was sucked into a black hole, unable to escape. My arms felt numb, and I could feel the heat against my feet. Let's assume that my hormones were raging and we did it in a closet yesterday. Yeah, that should be it. However, I had absolutely no recollection of this. I put my hands out in front of me, trying to feel my whereabouts. In the complete darkness, my invisible hands felt like jelly. My hand reached to the side and it felt hard, like metal. Nope, doesn't feel like a closet to me. Thump. Thump. Thump. The "closet" was shaking, and I felt as though I was being ca
