Chapter 3:Be my wife
AARON’s POVThe woman was still bound to the chair and I could not really decipher the look in her eyes. As I looked at her, I couldn't help but wonder if she was telling the truth, if her plea for a second chance was genuine. There was something about her, something in her eyes that made me question my initial judgments.Just as I was lost in my thoughts, my phone buzzed, signaling an incoming call. I glanced at the screen to see that it was Cole, my best friend .With a deep breath, I answered, hoping for a momentary distraction from this crazy situation in front of me.
"Hey, Cole," I greeted,"What's going on?"
Cole's voice crackled through the line, laced with frustration. "Dude you just lost another contract," he said, his tone laced with defeat. "There's a new rumor spreading, and it's damaging your reputation all the more.”
My brow furrowed, concern etching my features. "What kind of rumor?" I asked, a sinking feeling settling in the pit of my stomach.
Cole sighed heavily, his frustration evident. "Samantha Sinclair," he replied,"She's saying you physically hurt her, that you were violent."
My jaw tightened as anger slowly took over. "That's a bloody lie!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with indignation. "I would never harm anyone. She's just trying to ruin me just because we fucked and she wants to be the number one woman in my life. And I don’t fucking want to be with her. She is a psychopath.”
Cole's voice softened, sympathy evident in his tone. "I know, Aaron. But you need to clear your name, and fast. These rumors can destroy everything you've worked for. You know they are still out there talking about your sex escapades and this new story spreading fast would cause even more harm.”
His words resonated within me, and my mind raced for a solution.
“If I lay my hands on that Samantha, like really lay my hands on that crazy gold digging—““No man,” he interrupted. “Use your head. You should be staying away from that crazy woman before she ruins you. You gotta focus on the main problem here.”“What am I going to do?” I sighed in exasperation.“Listen,it’s been almost a month now and you still haven’t found a suitable bride yet. That should be your main focus to ensure you get your inheritance in the bag.”“You think it’s fucking easy to get a suitable bride? All the ladies are just whores or gold diggers. Or gold digging whores.”“You haven’t searched hard enough. Look, it’s a win win situation for you. You get to save your career and also get the family business under your name. You gotta act fast because time is ticking fast, dude.”“Where am I supposed to find her ? You make it seem so fucking easy.”“I am just telling you because you are running out of time, my friend.” He said to me calmly.”Hey,you gotta make sure whoever you find should be someone the public hasn’t set their eyes on yet. Someone unknown, someone you’ve never been involved with, someone they have never seen.I’ll help you in whatever way I can. Especially with this Samantha’s case first of all. Just try to have a positive news when next I call?”“Yeah. I’d see what I can find. Thanks man.”“Anytime.”As the call ended, I turned my gaze back to the woman, in front of me. She was still trying to free herself and I found a newfound spark of an idea taking hold of me suddenly.
Could she be the answer?I may have just found the one.I took a deep breath, my mind filled with a whirlwind of questions and doubts. It was time to get some answers, to delve into Bella's past and determine if she was truly the right person for the role I needed her to play.
“I have a few questions for you,” I started.”Er…what’s your name?”“Bella,” she responded quietly, her voice sounding more like a squeak."Bella," I began urgently. "I need to know everything about you. Do you do hard drugs or any drugs at all?”“Do I look like I do drugs? Of course not. I am totally clean,” she responded simply.
“An ex convict maybe?” I tried again.”Ever been caught for any of your crimes?”
“Jesus. I have never been to jail. I am pretty much skilled but still don’t do anything extreme.”
“How do you know how to fight?”
“My boyfriend taught me of course. It’s a harsh world and you gotta know how to defend yourself when the need arises.”
“Do you kill people?”
“Oh.My.God!” She yelled. “Why would I kill people? For goodness sake do I look like I kill people?”
“If you do you’d be very great at it because with this face,no one would even suspect that you do.”
“I’m clean and not a serial killer. Never killed anyone on my entire life. Happy now?”
I studied her intently, searching her eyes for any signs of deception. It was difficult to gauge her honesty, to determine if she was truly telling the truth. But I had to trust my instincts, to trust that this desperate young woman standing before me was not an actual criminal.
Pushing those doubts aside, I continued my line of questioning, desperate for clarity. "Do you do have any connection with kidnapping or any other illegal activities apart from being a thief?”
Her eyes widened even further .“I only steal art and sell them. Can we skip all these ridiculous questions?”
But my questions were far from over. I needed to know if she had any connections to the world I lived in, if she had been involved with anyone famous, anyone who could potentially threaten the façade I was trying to build. "Have you ever been romantically involved with someone famous, Bella?" I asked, my voice both cautious and curious. Her brow furrowed, confusion evident in her eyes. "The only famous person I've had a conversation with is you right now, Aaron Davis,” she responded.
That was a good thing.
“Are we done with the questions now?” She looked uncomfortable.”If we are,can you at least untie me?”
“I wouldn’t be doing that.” I replied patiently.
“How am I supposed to scratch the itch on my ass cheeks then?”
“Not my problem. It would pass eventually.”“Oh,fuck it,” she murmured under her breath."Do you know anything about marriage?" I asked further. "Do you know how to be a proper lady, to navigate the world of high society?"
She stared at me wide eyed, surprise flickering across her features. "Why do you need to know that?" she questioned, her voice sounding curious and apprehensive.
I hesitated for a moment, grappling with the right words to explain my intentions. "I need to know, Bella, because I have a proposition for you," I finally admitted.
Her gaze locked with mine and I could see her anticipation as well as confusion."I want you to be my wife," I declared firmly.
BELLA’s POV
My heart pounded in my chest, and my mind spun in disbelief at Aaron's proposition. I stared at him, my eyes wide with shock, struggling to find the right words to respond. "You... want me to be your wife?" I managed to utter, my voice trembling.Aaron nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Yes, Bella. Clearly, you’re unknown, a nobody. If I want this fake relationship to be convincing, I need someone who won't attract attention from the public eye."
His words echoed in my mind, leaving me speechless for a moment. This wasn't what I had anticipated when I begged him not to involve the police. It was a monumental request, something I never could have imagined.
"Why me?" I finally managed to ask, my voice filled with a mix of confusion and apprehension. "There must be other options, other women who would be more suitable for this... arrangement."
A faint smile played on his lips, though it lacked warmth. "Because, you seem to be the perfect fit for this role," he replied. "And besides, I will prepare a contract that outlines everything. All you have to do is marry me and have a child within a year and a half."
Hold up. I hadn’t even wrapped my head yet around getting married to him and now he was adding a baby to the list?
What the actual hell was going on? Or maybe I was hallucinating."Oh hell no.. Marry you and have your child? Are you joking right now?” I managed to ask after I found my voice finally. He studied me for a moment, his gaze calculating. "Your benefits, Bella," he replied, his tone detached. "You won't face legal consequences for your actions, and I will take care of your mother's surgery. Consider it a way to repay your debt and ensure her well-being."
"I can't do this," I blurted out.”Although you are the Aaron Davis, you are a stranger.Besides,I have a boyfriend who loves me to bits and who would never agree to me doing something like this. I can't just... give myself to you.He was going to be the first,”A flicker of intrigue danced in his eyes, a glimmer of curiosity. "You're still a virgin?" he asked, surprise evident in his voice.
Chapter 4:Twenty four HoursBELLA’s POVHeat rushed to my cheeks, embarrassment taking a hold of me for a moment. I nodded, unable to meet his gaze. "That information wasn’t meant to slip out like that but yeah. Yeah I am.”“You do not look like a virgin though,”“Excuse me? How are virgins supposed to look?”“I don’t know,” he shrugged.”How old are you?”“It’s improper to ask a lady her age like that.”“I can literally find out about your whole family background and entire history within minutes so you revealing your age shouldn’t be a big deal. Don’t forget who I am.”I sighed deeply and said,”24?”“A 24 year old virgin?” He scoffed. “No way in fucking hell.”“Well, believe it or not. Why do I even have to explain anything to you or prove a point?“ I was getting irritated by the second. His expression hardened, his tone firm and commanding. "Break off your relationship with that boyfriend of yours.Otherwise, I wouldn’t hesitate in throwing your sorry ass into jail. I would take ple
Chapter 5:Ready to sign the contract?BELLA’s POVI was just kidding. He wasn’t dead or anything. There, on the bed, lay Ryan, half naked, entangled with another woman—a stranger with wild red hair.Yeah, very cliche.Just like scenes I had watched in movies a hundred times and now it was happening to me. I was shocked to my bones and a strangled cry tore itself from my lips. The naked girl, unfazed by my presence, casually lifted a cigarette to her lips and took a leisurely drag. Her indifference only fueled the anger and hurt bubbling within me. Ryan, roused by my screams, groggily woke up, confusion visible across his face.He looked lost for a moment and then his eyes met mine, widening with realization and panic as he saw me standing there. My tears were threatening to spill down my face and my body shaking with a mix of rage and heartbreak as I watched him get out of the bed,the only sign of clothing the boxer briefs on his waist."Bella, I can explain!" he pleaded,as he rushe
Chapter 6:The baby contractBELLA’s POVMy heart sank as I recognized the contract in his hands. “You were actually serious about this thing?” “Do I look like The Joker?” He asked back.”This is called The Baby Contract.Read through and sign in the appropriate places. You can read right?” I sat down uncomfortably on the couch, my skimpy rumpled nightgown clinging to me.He looked at me like he could see my panties.Wait could he?I quickly clamped my legs together and placed a pillow over my thick thighs he had been seeing for free. I couldn’t help feeling self conscious under his scrutinizing gaze. Reluctantly, I turned my attention to the contract he had placed in front of me and as I skimmed through the pages, my eyes widened in disbelief. There, in black and white, were twelve ridiculous rules that he expected me to adhere to. It felt like a slap in the face. Rule 1:The very week we get married,we try for a baby.Rule 2:You are not allowed to have any male friends or spend tim
Chapter 7:She’s a nobody!BELLA’s POVAs the limousine pulled up to the front of the magnificent mansion, my eyes widened in awe. The surroundings were nothing short of breathtaking. The driveway was lined with an impressive fleet of luxurious cars, each one more sleek and expensive than the last. Stepping out of the limousine, I marveled at the sheer size and beauty of the house before me. It stood tall and proud, an architectural masterpiece that exuded elegance and opulence. The sprawling gardens were landscaped, adorned with vibrant flowers and perfectly manicured hedges. As I walked towards the doorstep, my heart raced with anticipation and nerves. Waiting for me were Aaron's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Their stern expressions and sophisticated, expensive attire made it clear that they were accustomed to a life of privilege and power. Mr. Davis, that ought to be in his late fifties looked too handsome and young for that age. Mrs. Davis, with her perfectly coiffed dark hair and
Chapter 8:Getting married this weekendBELLA’s POVI watched as Aaron’s parents protested about him settling for a girl like me to get married to. But he wasn’t having none of it.“Bella is the one I chose and everyone just have to accept this. Please Mom I’d like preparations to start as soon as possible. I want it to be a grand wedding that no one would forget about in a long while.” He said and kicked back his chair while wiping his mouth with a napkin. He gestured to me to come over to him.I stood up abruptly.“Thank you for the sumptuous dinner and receiving me. Please excuse me,” I said calmly and strutted out, following the lead of Aaron to his bedroom. My eyes widened in awe the moment we arrived there.Everything in his room screamed wealth and luxury. From the high ceilings to the walls which were wrapped in rich, dark mahogany paneling to the strategically placed crystal chandeliers and exquisite marble and carved mantelpieces. Then there was the comfortable oversized arm
Chapter 9:Yes,I DoBELLA’s POVNoah pulled his hand away and we saw Aaron standing there with his face set in a deep scowl.“Hello to you too bro,” Noah said with a small smile.”She got something on her cheek and I was just helping her get it out.”“No one touches her apart from me do you get that?” Aaron fired at him.“Okay,it’s no big deal really. Can you calm down?” I tried to make the atmosphere less tense. “Why is he here?” He asked me.“I just met him here when I came for the water.”Aaron draped his arm over my shoulder casually and said,”Come on,we’re leaving.”“Goodnight Noah,” I said quietly before Aaron pulled me away and back to the bedroom.“I already warned you to stay away from my brother didn’t I?” He said the moment we stepped foot into the room. “Why is that anyway?” I folded my arms across my chest, lines creasing my forehead.”He seems like a pretty nice guy to me.”“You know absolutely nothing about him. I hate him and you should hate him too.”“Are you serious? H
Chapter 10:The wedding night.BELLA’s POVThe activities of my wedding sped past in a blur and soon enough I was in a hotel room with Aaron. It was my wedding night after all and I couldn’t help feeling tensed. When he leaned in to kiss my neck,I felt shivers down my spine.“Hmmm you smell so good and I want to fuck you just right here,” he said to me and my whole body stiffened. “Wait Um.. if you could just give me a minute..” I said and trailed off.“Don’t worry,” he said with a smirk,a devilish glint in his eyes.”I would be the one to peel this dress off you.”“But I um..”“You speak hundred words in a minute and now suddenly cat got your tongue hmm?” He looked at me all over like he could actually see right through my dress. “You know this is my first time and I.. I just wanted you to be gentle with me,” I managed. Darn it. When did I start stuttering like a toddler? He chuckled and I caught sight of those adorable dimples of his. “You’ve actually never really been fucked?”I
BELLA’s POV“Relax,we were just talking,” Noah calmly said.I watched as Aaron's face contorted with anger, his eyes cold. "Talking? Is that what you call it?" he snapped, his voice sharp and accusatory. I took a step back, startled by his sudden outburst. "No, Aaron, it wasn't like that," I tried to explain, my voice trembling with both fear and frustration. "We were just talking. There was really nothing more to it." He grabbed my arm tightly, pulling me away with him towards our bedroom. Once inside, he slammed the door shut and turned to face me, his jaw clenched. "I don't want you talking to Noah," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "He's my brother, and he's caused enough trouble in my life,do you hear me?." I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm despite the turmoil inside me. "Why do you hate him so much, Aaron?" I asked, genuinely curious. "What happened between you two? I really wanted to ask this the very first day because I am genuinely confused. You guys are b
BELLA’s POVPanic set in as we searched for Nathan's room. I felt my throat tighten, and my legs carried me faster than I thought possible. Aaron was right behind me, his footsteps echoing mine as we desperately looked for our son.We finally reached Nathan's ward, and my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach. The nurses were frantically trying to find our baby, who was nowhere to be seen.Tears welled up in my eyes, and I clung to Aaron, fear gripping my heart. "Where's our baby? Where's Nathan?" I cried out, my voice filled with desperation. The nurses were equally worried and confused. One of them said, "We don't know. He was here just a moment ago, and now he's gone."Aaron's face turned pale, and he looked around the room, searching for any sign of our son. Panic and fear etched across his features, and he muttered, "We need to find him, Bella."And then it suddenly occurred to me that Aaron might be behind this.I turned to face him angrily. "Where have you taken our baby?" I sh
BELLA’s POVHe knelt beside me, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze. It was really Aaron in the flesh! I couldn’t believe it. What the hell was he doing here and how had he even found me?"Bella, are you okay?" His voice was full of worry as He examined me for injuries."Are you hurt? What happened?"I was panting heavily, my heart still racing from the traumatic encounter. My fingers trembled as I tried to speak. "I... I'm fine," I managed to say, my voice shaky and panicked.Aaron's gaze softened, and he ran a hand through my disheveled hair. His eyes fell to my chest, and a frown creased his brow as he noticed the first two buttons of my shirt had been pulled out, revealing my cleavage. He didn't say a word, but the protective anger in his eyes was unmistakable.Gently, he held my shoulders and tilted my face up to meet his. His eyes bore into mine, and he whispered, "Calm down, Bella. Tell me what happened."I struggled to collect my thoughts, my words stumbling out in fragments
BELLA’s POVTwo police officers were talking to Richard, who appeared distressed. The officers were taking notes and investigating the scene.I approached them cautiously and inquired, "Is everything okay here? I was supposed to meet Richard, and when I arrived, I found the house in disarray."One of the officers, a woman, turned to me with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, ma'am. We received a call about a break-in, but it seems to be under control now."I turned my attention to Richard, who appeared relieved to see me. He explained, "I arrived home to this chaos just moments before you did. I called the police immediately."The other officer, a man, said, "We're taking statements and investigating the situation. If you could just give us a moment."Relieved that the situation wasn't as dire as I had feared, I agreed and stepped aside to let the officers do their work. After a thorough investigation and some paperwork, they assured us that the house was secure. With the incident reso
AARON’s POVJasmine's words left me feeling a mixture of shock and anger. The woman I thought I had known had turned out to be someone entirely different. She admitted to sabotaging my relationship with Bella and causing immense pain to both of us. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The anger inside me was boiling over, and without thinking, I grabbed Jasmine's shoulders and shook her profusely. "You did this? You orchestrated the downfall of my marriage? You ruined Bella's life, and mine too! How could you?" My voice was a mixture of anger as well as disbelief.Jasmine's face contorted with a strange mix of fear and defiance. "Bella deserved it," she spat out. "She had no right to come into our lives and steal you from me. You're mine, Aaron, and she had to pay for that."I released my grip on her but continued to glare at her. "You think this is about Bella taking me from you? This is about trust, honesty, and the love I thought we had. You betrayed me just as much, Jasmine."S
BELLA’s POVAs my eyes fluttered open, I realized I was still inside my rental car, and it was parked precariously at an awkward angle on the side of the road. My head throbbed with pain, probably from hitting the steering wheel during the accident. For a moment, the world around me was a blurry haze. The baby's cries filled the car, his cries of distress mingling with my own confusion and pain.I forced myself to focus and looked around, realizing that the accident had disoriented me. Gradually, my vision cleared, and I saw a man approaching, his expression tense and furious. I reached for my baby and tried to calm him down, caressing his forehead gently in the backseat. I knew I had to act quickly, so I unbuckled my seatbelt and stepped out of the car, my legs shaky from the impact. The man who emerged from the car I had collided with was tall, with a rugged appearance that seemed to demand respect. He had a strong build, and his dark hair was disheveled, as if he had been having a
AARON’s POVI was beyond frustrated. Each passing day without Bella felt like an eternity. I had thrown everything I had into finding her, but it was as if she had vanished from the face of the Earth. My temper flared as I shouted into my phone at my men, demanding that they track her down as soon as possible. My men knew that I was not a man to be trifled with, but the urgency in my voice was uncharacteristic, even for me.Cole watched me from across the room. He had seen me at my best and my worst, and he knew that this situation was tearing me apart. He tried to be the voice of reason, urging me to calm down.“Dude, you want to bring down the whole house with your yelling. You gotta calm down. They are trying their best to find her,”“Their best isn’t good enough,Cole.I am running out of patience and of time. I realize now that I have made a terrible mistake so please just let me deal with it.”“I understand man,but you need to take a chill pill and stop overreacting. Don’t worry t
BELLA’s POVI gave up trying to revive my baby myself and had to rush him to the hospital as quickly as I could. I clung to my baby, his tiny body so fragile in my arms, and my heart ached with fear. We reached the emergency room, and the medical staff swiftly took over, examining the baby with urgency. I could hardly breathe as I watched them work to stabilize him.Mom and MaryJane placed a comforting hand on my shoulder as we watched everything unfold. After what felt like an eternity, the doctor emerged and gave us a reassuring smile. "The baby's breathing is stable now," he said. "You don't need to worry, but we do recommend taking proper care of him. Make sure he gets plenty of fluids and vitamins."I let out a sigh of relief, thanking God inwardly. The doctor went on to explain the reason behind the sudden breathing difficulty. He mentioned that it was likely due to the baby's underdeveloped respiratory system, which is not uncommon in premature infants. This revelation eased some
BELLA’s POVI sat in the dimly lit room, staring at the screen of my laptop. I was grateful we were comfortable and safe in Los Angeles now. That was the first place I thought of moving to and I hoped Aaron wasn’t going to find us. While we were on the road coming here and our car was stopped,I had thought Aaron had somehow sent his men and caught up with us but it was just some mere thugs who wanted to steal from us. We were lucky enough to get away from them as the police was nearby at that moment. The apartment we rented wasn’t anything fancy but at least it was a roof over our head and quite comfortable for all four of us for now. At least it was better than staying in that huge mansion where I was unhappy. Here in L.A,not too many people were going to recognize me here as Aaron Davis’s wife. Besides, I was planning to keep a low profile knowing how nosy people could get.I found myself glued to the screen of my laptop when I came across a very interesting video. I froze, watchin
AARON’s POVThe day of the engagement had arrived, and I was quite nervous as though it was my wedding day. I stood before a mirror, adjusting my tie and smoothing down my handsome corporate suit. I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction as I looked at my reflection. The suit fit perfectly, and I felt a surge of confidence.Jasmine, my soon-to-be fiancée, was equally stunning. She wore a flowing green gown that complemented her figure beautifully. The color accentuated her eyes, making them shine even brighter. She looked radiant, and I couldn't have been prouder to have her by my side. The grand hall I had chosen for the engagement was a vision of opulence. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, giving the room a beautiful light. The walls were adorned with golden decorations, and the whole space exuded an air of grandeur. It was packed with people, all eager to celebrate this milestone with us.Jasmine was grinning from ear to ear as I approached her, my heart swelling w
