Living in your heartbeat

After I stayed in the same position for a while, I finally lifted my head off my knees and glanced around my room. I realized that I didn't have any homework due for tomorrow. All of my assignments were completed, and I probably didn't need any help on mine since it was only one problem.

But that thought seemed extremely boring. So, instead of doing homework, I decided to get changed into some pyjamas and crawl under my blanket.

I closed my eyes tightly and focused on relaxing. However, I kept hearing footsteps echoing throughout the house, which reminded me of how much I missed sleeping next to Romano. This caused me to groan in annoyance. Why can't she just leave me alone?!

However, once the sound of shuffling footsteps reached my ears again, my curiosity won over my irritation. Carefully opening one of my eyes, I peered through my fingers to see who the culprit was. When I saw that it was her, I immediately shut my eyes and pretended to be asleep.
