CHAPTER 6 - UNEXPECTED POWERS

We were under a lot of pressure as a team. But what was I expecting? They were up against actual wolves. It wasn't just their strength that mattered. Their agility was just as impressive. My team possessed these characteristics.

Esther, who held the ball, was the weakest player on the team. Should the ball go out of bounds, my heart broke for her. I can only imagine how devastating it would be for her. Only minutes remained in the game.

Upon making my wish for Esther's sake, she made her a net within minutes. Ultimately, both teams' scores are tied. Ester's face was a mixture of shivers, tears, and smiles. It was a joyous moment for all of us.

Nicolas approached me as I headed off to the field. Nicolas asked me, "Are you picking me up later?"

I smiled, "I might." I kept on walking, pretending to ignore him.

After that, he threw me over the shoulder with the remark, "Ignore me now!"

I screamed and started hitting his back. "LET ME DOWN!" I screamed

After tickling me, Nicolas asked, "Are you going to pick me up?"

I replied, "Maybe?"

Nicolas chuckled, "Wrong Answer!" he tickled me again.

I then shouted, "Okay, I am picking you up!" Would you also like a ride to the hotel? I asked Nicolas.

As we were walking out to my car. Excitedly, he said, "Heck Yeh" Nicolas throws his bag in the back of the car and runs to let the bus driver know not to wait for him. He came back and jumped into the car.

When we were sitting on at a Stop sign, I noticed a young girl, maybe 7 years old, crossing the street and there was a car coming right at her. Without Thinking I stand up and Yell, "STOP!" I did not notice my hands were glowing, and the car stopped immediately.

The young girl finished crossing the street and went on her way. "Wow, that was close," I stated. Nicolas is just staring at me in awe as he asks, "What was that? Your hands were glowing. You literally stopped that car."

I laughed at him, thinking he was going crazy or messing with me. I looked at him quizzically and stated, "The only thing I did was yell for the car to stop. Maybe you were just seeing the sun glow off my hands?"

 Nicolas says, "I know what I saw. We need to find out who you are and why you have powers?" I pull up to drop Nicolas off and see Samantha yelling at him. She looks like she is about to slap him, so I get out of the car and look at her sternly. "Put your hand down," as I am pointing at her. This time I saw my hands glow, and she indeed put her hand down to her side.

She huffed and turned around the opposite direction. Nicolas is staring in disbelief and asks, "You saw your hands this time, right?"

"Yes," I stutter, completely in shock. I further state, "This is all new to me, I swear to you."

"We can talk about it later," Nicolas replied.

I turn around to leave and smile and wave goodbye, stating, "I will pick you up around 7pm." Then I jump back into my car and head off home.

I am tired and wired up as well. Today's events have me bundled up in a mixture of emotions from anger to sorrow. I truly hate not knowing who or what I am. I feel more like an abnormal freak every day.

I pull up to my house and park my car. I am stressed and wore out. I wave to my mother as I walk in. I peck her on the cheek and tell her I am going to take a nap before the dance. I walk upstairs and face-plant my body face forward on the bed.

Alora – the Unknown person in Alexi's dream:

Hello Alexi, it is time I tell you our history. It was centuries ago, maybe even millennia ago. Packs, clans, etc. Had been fighting each other to the point of extinction.

The moon goddess created a "White Wolf." The White Wolf will be born when it is needed. Besides being a direct descendant of the Moon Goddess, she will be of royal blood. The birthmark of a crown will also be on her.

Now, let's go back to the present or to your birth. I am a hybrid; I belong to both the werewolf and the faerie races.

 They assigned me as your personal warrior guard when you were born. I stay in the shadows, so you have never seen me.

I am the one who left you with the humans you are now with. They seemed like they had a pure spirit about them.

As Alora tells me that, a tear falls from my cheek. She does not stop telling her story. 'There is a vampire named William. His clan comprises many species. He heard from his Oracles that the White Wolf would be born. Several days after your birth, he sent a spy to kidnap you. His spy didn't know I hid in the draperies. You would wonder how a spy could get into the castle.

A person who looks into a vampire's eyes is hypnotized. He hypnotized your mother's sister. It is normal for Royals to be unaffected by vampires, but the Queen's sister was adopted and human.

An urgent meeting was scheduled with trusted individuals to discuss how to protect you. I, as well as the Alpha and the King and Queen of the Redwood pack, were the only ones who could be trusted. In the middle of this meeting, William broke into the castle.

Your agitation caused me to stop the meeting and transport myself to your room. I grabbed you out of William's hands and transported you to another continent. I knew William would follow your scent since he was an excellent tracker.

After finding a cabin, I bound your abilities until you turn 18. It seems your powers are surfacing. Therefore, I need to train right away because you are the Crowned Wolf, the Warrior Princess. The training is necessary so you can beat William during the foretold war.

It would be an understatement to say my mouth dropped and was hanging open. I started slapping myself, stating, "this is only a dream, this is only a dream" I turn to her and state "since you're a fairy can I now dream about Unicorns?"

She laughs, "Yes, I am talking to you in your dream and no you are not crazy. No, you cannot have a unicorn. They are shifters as well and belong to only themselves. I have come in your dreams so as not to get close to you. I do not want William following my scent to you. Humans smell rotten to us, so putting you in a human town masked your scent. Now we have another issue. Your powers are coming earlier than we would have liked. When you use your powers, you are broadcasting your power to the magical world, just like fireworks. What I am trying to say is we need to hide you again."

"No, no, no, I have to finish High School," I exclaimed frantically.

"You must live foremost!" says Alora. "The Moon Goddess needs you to live." Let Nicolas know you talked to me because he is honorable, like his father. Later, we'll talk more." After Alora said her last words, I woke up at 6 p.m. Oh my gosh, I'm in a rush to get dressed.

Running to the shower, I grab my robe and towel. I think this is the shortest shower I've ever had. After taking a shower, I blow-dry my hair. Following my hair drying, I straighten it and add a few ringlets to it.

Almost no makeup is necessary for me. Just a little eyeliner and lip gloss. My closet is calling my name as I look for the perfect dress. After digging through my closet, I discovered a deep color red dress. It's a darker, more Royalty-inspired red than a bright red.

"Kiki, what is your opinion?" I ask.

As Kiki thinks, she replies, "Yeah, it'll do."

I laugh. "Really, Kiki, what did that help with?"

Kiki replies matter-of-factly, "What do I need from human clothing?" It's not something I wear, nor is it something I want to wear!

"Oh really? Not even a cute pink bow for Kiki!?" I laugh."

Kiki growls at the back of my head. I put on my underclothes and slide the red dress over my head. I get a black angora button down sweater and black flats. I am so ready to go.

Nicholas receives a text from me letting him know I am going to pick him up. Afterward, I send a mass text to my friends inviting them to meet at Culliies before the dance. After running down the stairs, I yelled at my parents, "I'm going to the dance!". Jumping into my car, I drove away.
