Mariano stopped by at the gasoline station.
Keenan stepped out of the car. He opened the backseat’s door opposite Dawn.
Mariano guessed what he wanted to do.
“Dawn, could you pass me the boxes?”
“Huh? Oh--okay. Here you go.” She passed it to him one by one as he placed it on top of the passenger’s seat.
Keenan went to sit beside Dawn. “Make sure it doesn’t squish the donuts.”
Mariano moved the two smaller boxes on the side of the other one.
