Paige was at work trying to figure out what exactly to do about her situation. She was almost daydreaming as she sat at her cubicle waiting to hand over the things she had prepared for the bosses she worked for. A shared assistant that was one of the best she was in high demand and found that her job now included a few extra people that she was not supposed to work for.
She knew though that she had a good reputation for working. Though she had heard a few rumors about how she moved up the companies ladders quickly. None of them were good. She had ignored them for the most part. She had no desire to give into the demands of the bosses nor would she back down with her other assistants. They had things to do for their bosses.
Giving in to those types of things was not like her. She was there to work and get the job done. She would buy their presents for their wives and girlfriends. She would type everything up. She would answer calls and schedule meetings. All the things she was hired to do. She would not cross that line so many other before her had done.
They were the easiest to look over in the company many thinking there was not much to the job. She knew better. She hated the simple fact. Though she knew this was a great job she had doubts it would be hers for all that long. She knew she would burn out sooner or later. The comments and blistering remarks would drive her to find another job in a different company and she would have to start over there.
She had been with this company now for almost a year. She was proud of that fact. She was now one of the few assistants who knew their place and could hold their own doing what she did. She had moved up not because of her beauty or talents in other places but because she was a no nonsense worker.
She was never late. She took her breaks on time. She filled her desk with work for whomever needed her to work on something. She was willing to stay later to work only. She knew her place at the company.
She was not going to fall victim to anyone’s greed or dirty thoughts. She would continue for as long as she could. She knew that it would not be easy but she was willing to put in the extra work. She had to be rewarded somewhere.
Her goals had changed a few times since she had been in the workforce. Right now she wanted to get out of her crappy apartment. It was cheap but it was in the city where she needed to be. She just needed a few more months working and possibly a bonus or two and she would be free of that place.
Fridays were her best day. Everyone else was ready to go and did the bare minimum for the day. Even her bosses which left her surprisingly pretty much free. She would answer the calls and then transfer them to the correct office for the rest of the afternoon.
“Paige can you come here please?” one of the executives asked as he stood by the opening in the walls for her area. She smiled and nodded as she stood up.
“Of course, sir.” She replied as she followed him to a small conference room. He left the door open knowing how some of the people on the floor would talk if they disappeared. This man was decent in the way he treated her and all the others like her as well. She smiled at the thought.
“What can I help you with sir?” she asked as she looked at him.
“You are being transferred.” He said as he met her eyes. “You were requested by a new executive and you will work for him from now on.”
“What?” Paige asked not knowing someone could do that in the company. Most of the assistants worked for many different managers. She knew this was not the norm here in this one. Who would want her to work for them?
“He requested you and the owner gave into his demands.” The man chcuckled. “His gain is our loss.”
“Who is he?” Paige asked. She wanted to at least know if she had worked with him before.
“Honestly I don’t know.” The man stated as he smiled. “However instead of reporting here to this area you will go to the suites. The new one is being redone over the weekend. That is your new office. You will report to there on Monday.”
“But.” Paige said and then she clamped her mouth shut. She knew that trying to fight this was not going to work. It would be a waste.
“I would start packing up your stuff.” He said as he looked her and watched her reaction. “You can put it in the suite closet so you don’t have to take it home. It isn’t like you are being fired. This is a promotion. Remember that.”
He walked out of the conference room leaving her standing there still in shock. She knew what she had to do. She didn’t want to say goodbye to her walls that went half way. She enjoyed working for many people and not just one. She wanted to stay where she was. However the winds of change were adding to her life. A change and working with one person instead of seven might be easier. It could also mean more money for her.
She could do this. She knew she could.
Paige had packed up everything that was hers at the desk and then she decided to call it a day. She had finished everything that she had too and new this weekend she would be nothing but a blah of nerves. Though she had changed jobs a few times she knew that this was going to be something new.She tried not to think about it but it was all she could think of until she went to sleep. Nothing was right anymore and she knew it. No one asked for her by name. No one requested her even though she was one of the best in the company. She tried to figure out who this new boss could possibly be. She had no clue. She didn’t even have an idea of what division he could be.As she fell asleep the thoughts took over and invaded her dreams. She didn’t sleep well and decided to put off doing the few things that she knew she had to do. The laundry for one was one of those things that she didn’t want to do. She knew that when she did do it she would have t
Paige had put off the things she needed to do. She knew that everything was going to be fine the next day but she had to do her laundry. That was her goal for the day even though again she didn’t want to carve out the time to do it and sit there. She bundled her things up and walked to the basement of the building. The old light flickering in the distance always made her feel slightly uneasy but she knew she had too.She then placed everything right in the washer knowing that she should do two loads but there was no way she was feeding this machine which happened to be the only one that would actually work most of the time, that many quarters. She opened the lids and then placed everything where it needed to be. Then closed it and shoved the quarters int eh slots to start the machine. It would be about forty minutes and she had this done to a science. The machine was locked for the moment. No one could open it.She walked back upstairs to her
Paige stood in front of the mirror and knew this was not going to work out well. The dryer had completely ruined her outfit, and she was left with one white blouse that one could easily see-through and a short pencil shirt that she would have to be careful of doing anything still left in her closet. She didn’t even have a clean bra to wear, which just added to her dilemma. So her already large chest was going to be bouncing around every which way but that with the combo of the shirt, someone could easily see her dusky colored nipples. This was not the way to start off her job with the new boss. She was about ready to cry when she remembered a blazer that she had in the back of the closet. That would help some of her problems. She started out the door when she turned locked her door and saw one of her neighbors. The creepy one who always stared. She wondered to herself if she was making an impression that she was strong-minded or
“What were you talking about that you picked me for this job?” she asked when she could finally catch her breath and have a coherent thought again. She had spent years doing this job with no one ever looking at her the way that he just had though her rise through the ranks had garnered some comments like, “She had spent a lot of time on her knees.” Or “She is better on her back then in the chair.” She had ignored them, but now she was wondering if her frustration and him being him led her to do the entirely wrong thing. This was the man who was supposed to enforce the rules about certain interactions and fraternization.“Paige, I have been watching everyone. That is my job. Though some of the other assistants have found ways to get around the company’s rules, you have not. Do you know how I got this position? It was quite easy, really. It was by reporting on everyone who works here and their ability t
He led her to the underground parking lot through the set of elevator doors that only the top level of management could use. Even the garage with the rows of what seemed to be brand new cars. She had never seen cars that were that shiny without being at a dealership before. “So, tell me about yourself.” He broke the silence as he finally reached what seemed to be his car. He unlocked the doors and opened hers for her to get in. She got in and had less than thirty seconds to think as he walked around the car slowly.“What do you want to know?” she asked when he got into the car with the movements much like a large predatory way about him. Knowing that he knew her personal file already. That was his job to know things about people to give the brass leverage when it was needed.“Anything.” He replied as he backed out of the parking spot. “I know anything that is in the file, but I don&rsqu
One by one, each item that was covering her body was making a pile on the floor. “Seriously? Here?” she hissed as his hand made quick work of her clothes.“This is honestly the perfect place. Trust me, this isn’t a first, nor is it the last for something to happen in these dressing rooms.” He said softly. She was completely bare to him by the time he had shrugged of his shirt. He looked over at the pile of items he had brought and knew he didn’t really ever need to see her in them. He thought they were good and well designed. He knew just looking at her was enough to turn his cock hard. Working with her was going to be near impossible for him, but that was his own choosing. He wanted her the first time he saw her. That only grew until she was in front of him, and her wardrobe malfunction gave his mind the one chance to get her with him.His hand ran down her back and gripped her ass. He pulled her closer to him. H
As they went in the building, the back way with the bags of things from his car leaving a few in his trunk because they both knew they would run into a few people on the way up and bags from the exclusive intimate appeal store might raise a few eyebrows. Paige was glad to have thrown one outfit into the bags they were bringing up, so she could change when they got to the office. Though her day was mostly shot already. She knew she couldn’t think still. She honestly didn’t know if she had any brain function left to do actual work. Luckily he was right about the fact no one expected them to work today or too much in the next week. He had no meeting scheduled at all until the middle of the following week. That led her to believe it would be the two of them in the office alone for most of that time. She wondered if she would ever be able to think again.Moving into this office was going to be a huge step for him. Though his job
As the day progressed into the late afternoon, the two people in the office moved around it to make it seem like he had always been there, and this wasn’t new. He watched her as she helped him unpack his boxes from the other office, which was smaller and more to his tastes in the first place. He didn’t like to be seen to much. It was better for him if he wasn't. This office was higher up. It was where the management was. It was closer to the top levels he wanted to avoid as well.It was also about four times the size of his last one. He never had to think about how to fill that space. Now he was left with huge areas of the blank office that screamed for something. He had no idea what that something was, though. He hoped she would. He wasn’t lying when he had said he had been told he had a horrible taste when it came to things. He had been, numerous times throughout his life.“What else does it need?” he asked as
A year had filled the castle house with many different things as Milo drove up to it from his long day at the office. His brothers with Maryanne’s help had pushed for him to take his rightful place in the company as a VP by their side. He had enjoyed getting to know them and their families over the past year. His father had also begun to acknowledge him for what and who he was as well along with Missy. However, coming home to Paige was the best part of every day.She had stopped working a few months before. She had been having some issues with getting around easily. Missy had been the one who finally said enough was enough and basically made her leave her position at the company. She had a new job now that was much more important than being his assistant. He smiled as he walked in the door to find her asleep on the couch near the front of the house with the small bundle on her chest. He walked over and lifted the small thing off of her as she woke up and l
Milo and Paige drove up the street to the house that stood there in the trees. She looked at it and knew this was hers. It was the most surreal feeling in the world to her knowing everything that happened in the past two days. She began to laugh. There was no stopping the laughter either.“What?” Milo asked as he looked at her as she got out of the car and looked at everything around her. This place was going to be their place together. A part of who they were, and it would allow them to grow together as well.“This.” She said as she looked at him. “All of this happened to me because I had no clothes to wear to work yesterday.”“Well, not really.” He said, chuckling. He had often thought the moment she walked into his office, everything in his life would change. He had a plan right from the start. Simple steps that would allow him to reach this goal with her. Everything went to hell as soon as the but
“Excuse me?” Paige asked as she looked at the older woman who was smiling at her. Paige was sure that she had heard the older woman wrong. Everything in her told her that she did. There was no way this woman just said that to her, not to Milo.“I had to charge you something, but a private sale is much easier to handle,” Missy said as she put the dollar in her pocket. “You see, the house is mine to do with as I please. I wanted a family to move in. I offered the house first to my children, but they all have the ones they wanted. I had no idea Milo was looking for one, or I would have found a way to offer it to him as well. I decided though to sell it to you, my dear. A long-standing tradition in my family is to make sure the women have something to hold on too not the men. My mother gave me the house when I got married though she still lived in it for some time. She wanted to make sure that I had something that I could
The pair drove in silence, and soon they were passing the house they were buying in the dim light of day. It was glowing there in the trees like a beacon that they would call home by the end of the week. He smiled as she sighed and pressed her face to the glass to look at it more as they drove past it. It was going to be their home.“Family dinner will be easy to get to.” He said with a chuckle.“For you.” She said with a laugh. “My family won’t be coming to dinner or us going over there too often.”“And why is that?” he asked.“Well, my family is slightly disconnected. The main part is I don’t want them thinking because I am with you, that means they can start asking you for things.” Paige said with a sigh.“And that means?” he asked.“Though I love my siblings very much, they have the worst ability to manage things and often find themsel
“I really don’t know how I should feel about this,” Milo said out of the blue as he looked at his computer later in the day. Paige was in the room, but she wasn’t working with him at the moment. She was keeping herself busy but also keeping an eye on him. He had quite the day already.“You should be happy but yet still a little leery of everything.” She said as she looked out the window. Her response was simple and straightforward. It was how she handled everything, including all of this, with him.“And you know this how?” he asked with a chuckle.“It is how I feel with everything that has happened to us.” She said as she turned around as she looked into his face as she spoke.“You don’t think that you should be happy?” he asked as he stood up and walked over to her. He looked down into her blue eyes and got lost for a moment in them. He was wondering
Paige walked out and looked between the two men standing there. Milo was looking at his father, and she knew he had so many questions to ask. She went to her area and took a seat as she let them talk. As the two left the hallway to go into the office, they left the door open. They knew that she would stop anyone from coming in, and they could discuss whatever with the knowledge she would keep their secrets. She was after all a part of this.“I have one question,” Milo asked the old man as he sat down on the couch, and Milo went to one of the chairs near it. Milo didn’t really know how to handle this conversation. It wasn’t something he was ever going to ask in the first place. Now everything was hinged on the answer his father would give.“And that is?” the old man asked as he raised his eyebrow.“Did you want me to know them?” Milo asked.“Know who?” the old man
When they walked into the office, Milo looked like he had gone through the wringer. Paige stopped when she walked in, and he closed the door. She didn’t see him turn the lock on the door, either. She just looked at his face. He was still completely shocked at what had just happened.Milo only wanted one thing at the moment, and that was her next to him. He pulled her closer and found the comfort of her tiny arms around him. He didn’t have to try to hold everything in though he still was in shock. He tipped her head up so he could see her eyes, and then he found her mouth with his own. There was a hunger there that neither of them could deny. The tension in him was surging through him. She could feel it as if it was a living being growing in him. She let him pull her along to the couch and then hiked her skirt up so she could straddle him. “I know you said, not here.” He whispered on his lips. “I just need
“You think this is a good idea?” Paige asked after Justin left the office. She was looking around at the office and was beginning to think that maybe he was right, and she went a little overboard with the plants. She had to shake her head at herself and went back to helping him place things around the office. The plants did make the size of the room look smaller, though. As she placed a plant down, he would move one of the larger items like a tree or fern to the side where the windows were. In the process, he had made a small private sitting area with the trees around the small couch and two chairs. It was beginning to take shape that could be used.“If it is a bad idea, it is one I should make. I know more about them then they know about me. I think I should try to form something with them. I mean, they are my half-siblings though they know why I am here, existing. The sins of the mother and father shouldn’t be placed onto the child rega
“Have you decided where to place most of these?” she asked.“Is it too late to say at our new house?” Milo asked with a laugh. “Sweetheart, I think there are a few too many things in here.”“No, there isn’t. I have seen offices much more than just packed with plants. It is the placement of them that will make the office look good.” Paige said as he looked at her.“Please, then by all means. I will lift the trees, and you can tell me where to put them.” He said as he rolled up his sleeves. “Remember, we don’t have real tasks to do for the rest of the week.”“So, are you asking me to take my time?” she asked.“You have permission to be less efficient then you normally are,” he said with a grin. “I am sure that it is going to take a while for you to get everything right.”“Don’t start.” She said
